Luca chuckled.
“It was a memorable first date.”

Ghost put one
hand in his pocket and they made their way along the racks of
clothes. “How do you see what’s gonna happen now, in the near
future? We’re gonna be tied to Detroit, as I won’t be able to move.
But there are some inexpensive properties. We could save up and
renovate.”

Luca stopped by
a rack and pulled out a T-shirt with a creepy skull design made up
from several faces. “I’m a bit lost in all those... choices,” he
said with an apologetic smile. He knew how ridiculous he was being,
but you didn’t easily go from someone choosing your clothes for you
to making life-changing decisions.

“Sure, that’s a
big decision. Just wanted to put it out there. I mean, whatever
happens between us. I won’t leave you stranded. I want you to know
that.”

Just thinking
about Ghost losing interest was making Luca’s heart bleed, but he
put on a brave face and nodded, knowing what he was getting was
more than he’d ever hoped for anyway. “I would like to live with
you. If we can... afford something.”

Ghost smiled,
and pointed to a table full of briefs. “You’ll need those.”

Luca wiggled
his eyebrows. “You should help me choose those.”

Ghost bit his
lip, just staring for a moment. “Is that a thing gay guys do?” He
lowered his voice.

Luca shrugged.
“I’ve never done it before. But I suppose I want you to like what
I’m wearing against my skin,” he whispered. It was a push, since
Ghost wasn’t used to being close to guys this way, but Luca was
willing to take that bit of risk.

Ghost’s frowned
deepened, but Luca wanted to laugh when he saw how methodically
Ghost started looking through the briefs. Luca chuckled when he
imagined it might be the expression Ghost wore as he performed
surgery.

Ghost shook his
head, and what he pulled out after looking through the whole table
made Luca laugh harder. The most generic, nice-looking, hip-hugging
black briefs Luca could imagine. A set of five.

“Okay. It’s
even my size,” said Luca, following him with a huge grin. “You
don’t like funny prints?”

“Not on
underpants, no. But you can get some if you want.”

Luca felt like
a rebel when he showed Ghost a box of tight boxer shorts with a
beach-themed print. “I will.”

Ghost laughed,
his smile brightening Luca’s day. “What’s next? An Aloha
shirt?”

“Come on, those
are hot. Just imagine them hugging my ass,” Luca said, lowering his
voice to a whisper.

The silly grin
on Ghost’s face was all the answer Luca needed. He was quite happy
with having planted that image in Ghost’s head.

Chapter 10

This was it.
Tonight, Ghost was getting his prospect vest. They would then all
go celebrate at a party organized by the Rabid Hogs, a small
motorcycle club considering a patch-over to become a Coffin Nails
chapter. Truth was Ghost didn’t want Luca to mingle with more
outlaw bikers, but this was his lifestyle now, and if he was to
have a relationship with Luca, then he figured taking him to this
party might not be such a bad idea. In his experience, the biker
parties were wild but fun, and he hoped to show Luca a bright side
of the whole thing.

The last few
days had been their private heaven. Ghost was slowly realizing just
how much he didn’t mind Luca’s masculinity. He was getting over it
a lot faster than he would have thought he would. At the core, Luca
was still Zara, just with a different body, and since Ghost didn’t
mind that body… well, he actually
really
liked that body.
With each passing day, Ghost felt more comfortable around Luca. He
could just lie in bed all day with him and kiss under the covers,
explore the firm muscle of a man’s body without even a hint of
shame. Stroke his hands all the way to Luca’s dick. He was not
ready to touch it yet, so they jerked off lying side by side, their
shoulders touching. Luca asked him to come
on
him, and it
was more of a turn-on than Ghost would have expected.

Under the
slowly fading bruises, Luca’s skin was such a pretty dusky shade,
and when his cock got hard, it got even darker, with a reddish tint
that was more pronounced at the head. Ghost still felt a bit shy
and awkward about jerking Luca off, but day by day, it was becoming
a more tempting prospect. Gripping that dick, pumping it in his
hand, feeling the warmth of come splattering on his skin... it
could feel just as nice as kissing those plump lips.

Luca was such a
cuddler. He loved to just sit with Ghost while watching movies or
working on his new laptop, and each moment alone was an opportunity
for tender gestures. If Ghost had had any doubts about the
sincerity of Luca’s feelings, they’d dispersed completely. Luca
didn’t try to push Ghost into more than he was ready for, and so
they usually necked and kissed until they both got so hard they
couldn’t stand it anymore. They jerked off looking into each
other’s eyes, and Ghost had never thought something so simple could
feel as intense. On days when he was feeling more daring, he
caressed more than just Luca’s face and neck. He kissed his firm
chest, sucking on the small, sensitive nipples until Luca’s cock
was stiff and moist with arousal.

Ghost even
considered going lower and sucking him off, but he wasn’t sure how
to approach it, if he’d be any good at it, or if he’d even like it.
What if he didn’t? He’d have to go through with it if he started.
And then if they did it once, Luca would expect for it to happen
again. Ghost
could
hate it, yet having to keep doing it to
the end of his life not to disappoint Luca.

As a passenger
of Ghost’s sidecar, Luca was free to have a drink, but he had some
kind of inexpensive white wine instead of beer, and he even shared
it with Lucky and his sister, Astaroth. He seemed to be having
enough fun to momentarily forget about Ghost, which only reminded
Ghost that for the last few days, the two of them had been
completely inseparable.

Ghost walked
into the clubhouse bar to see Luca talking to Lucky and his little
sister on one of the big leather sofas. It was nice to see Asty out
talking to people, but she was still the most quiet person in the
room, her dark makeup and black clothes only adding to her somber
demeanor. Ghost sighed. He’d probably feel as down if it was his
mother spending half the time in hospital. Not to mention that the
diagnosis had come not long after Astaroth’s other brother
died.

The Coffin
Nails were leisurely chatting and having drinks that Ghost hoped
weren’t alcoholic, as they were to set out soon.

“Ready to go?”
he asked. Luca had told him that Frederico used to always buy him
elegant clothes, suits and shirts, so it was great to see him
enjoying his freedom in a colorful T-shirt and jeans that looked so
good on his hips that Ghost enjoyed them as well.

“What’s the
rush?” asked Tooth, pulling Ghost toward the counter with his
log-thick arm. “You’re not ready to show your face to our new
friends yet.”

The other Nails
grinned as Don walked over with a leather cut like the proud father
he was. “That’s the first thing you need.”

Ghost gave them
a smile and caught the vest his dad threw at him. “So it’s on,
huh?”

Milk nodded
with his arms crossed on his chest. “Fuck yeah it’s on,
Prospect.”

“Finally we’ll
have someone to bring cool beer over,” called Blitz with a wide
smile.

“My boy’s all
yours now. Don’t be gentle with him,” said Don, walking up to
Priest, who gave him a dim smile and shook his hand.

The room
erupted with laughs and howling, which intimidated Ghost more than
he’d like to admit. Bringing people beers, and looking after their
bikes wasn’t exactly his idea for a perfect night. But he chose
this, so he should suck it up, and stop being ungrateful.

“I’ll do what
needs to be done.”

Milk laughed.
“Look, he’s already talking like he’s stepped out of
The
Godfather
.”

Luca’s smile
dropped, as if weighed down by a cruel hand, and he hid behind the
glass of wine. Moments later, Lucky pulled him into what looked
like yet another attempt to cheer up Astaroth. At least with Tooth
dealing with most club-related matters, Astaroth had the support of
her dad.

Tooth gestured
to Milk, who came over with a cardboard box, holding it like a
crown on a velvet pillow.

“And the
finishing touch,” said Tooth, reaching inside the box and pulling
out a Glock.

Ghost stilled,
buried under the pressure. This wasn’t how he imagined this night
to go. “I― I’m flattered, but, I mean… I bet I won’t need it.”

Don waved his
hand dismissively. “Stop being such a sissy. You know how to use
it, so just take the fucking gift.”

Tooth nodded
and handed Ghost a holster to be worn underneath the vest. “It’s
for others to take you seriously. Can’t have you running around
with just a Swiss Army Knife now, can we?”

All the eyes
were now on Ghost, and it was making him increasingly queasy.
Wasn’t he supposed to be their doctor? Did he really have to go
through all this? “No, I guess we can’t.” Ghost gave Tooth a faint
smile, and put on the holster, even though it burned him through
the shirt. There was no use fighting it, and the last thing he
wanted was to look like a pussy in front of Luca.

He donned the
cut, and the first thing he heard was, “Prospect, go upstairs and
bring some cigs.” Of course.

Club doctor
my ass.
But he nodded and went off to fulfill his duty. This
was going to be a long night. At least Luca would get out and meet
some people. Ghost ended up even lighting the cigarette for Milk,
but he just went with it, hoping the worst period of prospecting
would be over within a week, when the novelty of it wore off.

He was still
busy with the sudden onslaught of chores when everyone else was
slowly leaving the bar, preparing for the hour-long ride to the
Rabid Hogs clubhouse. They’d stay there overnight, and he hoped to
find a quiet spot to hide with Luca once everyone was too drunk to
notice their absence. Maybe they could even eat out somewhere in
the neighborhood. Luca was clearly enjoying such normal things
after being denied them for such a long time.

“Why can’t I
go?” asked Lucky from the side, and Ghost couldn’t help but glance
toward him and Tooth. They were standing close together, both with
arms folded on their chests.

Tooth frowned.
“Because I don’t trust them yet, and I’m not sure how they’d react
to us.”

“I could be all
mysterious and shit. No one needs to know about us,” Lucky groaned.
His long blond hair was perfectly straight and shiny, almost too
perfect for the Black Sabbath T-shirt he wore. “You’re gonna go
party, and I’m just gonna sit on my ass all night?”

Tooth took a
step closer and put his hand on Lucky’s shoulder. “If you go on
with this discussion, you’re not gonna be able to sit on your ass
for days.”

Ghost turned
away to hide his shock. He did
not
want to hear that. Lucky
grumbled a bit more, but it was too quiet to understand, and Luca
distracted Ghost anyway.

“There’s a goat
in the backyard,” he said flatly.

“Oh, yeah,
that’s Astaroth’s.” Ghost watched Lucky storm out of the club,
which gave them both a good view of his denim vest, adorned with
patches stating that he was ‘Property of Tooth’. Not the most
stealthy outfit for someone claiming they could stay under the
radar.

Luca frowned
and looked back at Astaroth, who was talking to her dad in the open
door to the office. “But what is she doing with a goat in the city?
Is she like, really into goat’s milk, or something?”

Ghost rubbed
his forehead. “I think she’s into some occult stuff, but she hasn’t
killed Beast so far, so I don’t know. You wanna go feed it?” he
proposed, unsure what else he could say.

Luca chuckled,
and his face instantly lit up. “The goat’s everyone’s pet?
Interesting. You should show me how to deal with it.”

Ghost led Luca
to the backyard, where the furry black goat had its shed, carefully
fenced and as clean as ever. Ghost’s face soured when he realized
it was always the prospect’s job to make sure it smelled well and
was presentable. But worse yet, he hated not being able to just
hold Luca’s hand. He already missed the touch of his fingers. “It’s
not aggressive or anything. You can pet it.”

Luca chuckled,
stopping at the fence as the goat slowly walked over with its weird
eyes zeroing in on them. “Maybe you should do it first, since now
you have a gun and all that...”

Ghost took a
deep breath and slid his hand into the thick fur. “It’s not like
I’m gonna use it, you know.” He stopped breathing when he met slim,
warm fingers on Beast’s back.

“I hope not.
Will you be in a lot of danger now?” asked Luca, not looking at him
even as their fingers entwined behind the fence.

Ghost squeezed
the warm, smooth hand as if his life depended on it. “No,” he lied.
“You heard Tooth. It’s just for show. I need to get past this
prospecting period, and it’s gonna be fine.”

Luca’s whole
body relaxed. “Oh, good. I know you wanted to go to Syria, but I
really hated that you were out there. I was worried you’d get
hurt,” he muttered before slowly raising his brown gaze at
Ghost.
