Torn (16 page)

"Nah nigga, it ain't that. It is what it is. These chicks be gettin' all into they feelings I guess."

"Yo, but on the real, I know why Mo stick wit me."

"Why?"

"'Cause not only do I take care of home, but shorty be going crazy over my pipe game."

"Yo nigga, don't get stupid!" Cam warned.

"A'ight, a'ight I'm just fuckin' wit you. But on the real, Mo know what's good."

"Okay, well let me ask you this," West continued. "If Mo ever cheated on you, would you stay with her?"

"No."

"Why not? You cheated on her."

"So."

"So?"

"Yeah, nigga, so! I don't give a fuck what I did, Mo bet not ever disrespect me like that! I ain't even trippin'. My baby would never do no grimy shit like that to me. My pimp hand is way strong. That girl love me to death."

"So you don't think during the nine years y'all have been together that she has ever dipped out on you?"

"Dude ... what the fuck I just say? My girl don't get down like that! Mo know what she got at home!"

"All I know is you better watch what you got at home

'cause I know some niggas that be checkin' for that."

"Yeah, that is true. Mad niggas in the hood do be checkin' for shorty," Diggy joined in.

"Yo, for real son, I ain't even know that was yo' girl, but I seen that ass and them titties in the club one time ... and I swore to God I was takin' that home."

"Yo, this dude is buggin'," Stacy laughed.

"Shit, that's real talk! Yo, I seen her in the club and I was like skeet skeet muthafucka, skeet skeet! I was gon' shoot all up in between them titties!" West did a dance in his seat.

"Damn, Q, you gon' let this muthafucka disrespect you in yo' house like that? This nigga just said he was gon' skeet on yo' girl's breasts!" Diggy instigated.

"Shut the fuck up, Dig!" Quan barked with a menacing glare on his face. Calmly he mashed the rest of the blunt into the ashtray. Without hesitation, he carefully took his gun off his waist and placed it onto the table, never once breaking eye contact with West and said, "Now repeat that. You was gon' do what?"

"I was gon' skeet skeet all over them titties, nigga! Don't get mad at me 'cause ya girl come to the club wit her shit hanging out! You need to learn how to control that broad! As a matter of fact, you better watch Sherry 'cause if you leave her alone too long, I'ma be on her, too!"

"Yo dog, have you lost your muthafuckin' mind?!" Quan shot up from his seat charging at West.

"Ay, come on y'all, chill!" Stacy said, getting in between the two men. He had seen enough.

"Man, you better fall back! You don't wanna see me!" West declared, heated.

"I don't wanna see you? Nigga, it's whateva! You don't want that heat!"

"You pullin' guns over this bitch now?! Nigga, you don't even love her!"

"I don't what?!"

"Ay dude, you better watch yo' mouth! That is my sister you're talkin' about," Cam shot up, offended.

"Nah, Cam, I got this. What you just say?"

"Nigga, you heard me. If you loved her you wouldn't still be fuckin' Sherry and all the rest of them rat-ass bitches you be runnin' through, you dig?"

"Nigga, dig this!" Quan said, reaching for his gun.

"What the fuck is wrong wit y'all?" Mo asked, coming down the steps dressed in nothing but a wife beater with no bra and cut-off jogging shorts. Homegirl's ass was hanging out for everyone to see and her luscious breasts were sitting up like two ripe melons. West's accusations had just been con-firmed.

"I can hear y'all all the way upstairs," she continued.

"Y'all niggas get the fuck out!" Quan ordered. "And Mo, take yo' ass upstairs!"

"What?"

"Mo, straight up ... go upstairs. I don't wanna say it again."

"A'ight, nigga, damn!" she shot, going up the steps.

"Man, I don't even know why you started wit that dude.

You know how he is when it come to my sister," Cam remarked as he grabbed his coat.

And Cam was exactly right. Although Quan had cheated on Mo with numerous chicks throughout the years, he couldn't fathom the thought of her doing the same with another man.

Just the thought made him sick to his stomach. Mo was the number one person in his life. No other woman would come higher as long as she played her position and stayed the faithful woman he thought she was.

"Nah, that's that nigga gettin' all mad and shit! Like I said, you need to check that broad!"

"Yo, this ain't even for you! You better step the fuck off before it's like that for you, son!" Quan stressed, still holding his gun.

"Y'all niggas is wild, pullin' out guns and shit. I ain't coming over here no more," Stacy said, shaking his head as he left.

"I had fun. How about we do this again next week?" Diggy joked as he walked toward the door.

"Nigga, get the fuck out!" Quan yelled, slamming the door behind him.

Pissed, he took the steps two at a time. He couldn't wait to let Mo have it. She made him look like a complete fool in front of his boys and she was gonna pay. Quan found her standing in the middle of the bedroom with an angry look on her face.

"What the fuck I tell you about wearing that hoe shit, huh?!" He got up in her face and pushed her. Mo almost lost her balance but caught herself before she fell.

"What is wrong wit you? You gon' fuckin' push me? I'm pregnant!" she yelled, completely caught off guard.

"Why you gotta disrespect me all the time, Mo, huh? Why can't you do what the fuck I tell you to do?!" He pushed her again.

"I don't know what you're problem is, but you better stop pushing me!"

"Quit dressin' like a slut and maybe I won't have to put my hands on you! Keep it up and I'm gon' leave yo' ass!"

"A slut?" she asked, stunned. "How you gon' say something like that to me?"

"Nah, the question is why was West and them askin' me questions about what I would do if I found out you was cheatin' on me? What, them niggas know something I don't know? You fuckin' some other nigga now?"

"You must be feelin' real guilty about something 'cause I don't know what you're talkin' about!"

"Yeah, a'ight, play me if you want to! And you bet not let me find out that baby ain't mine!"

"What?" Mo was even more crushed now. "Nigga, have you lost your mind?!"

"Have you lost yours?"

"You know what? I ain't got time for this! You fuckin' going off on me for no reason! I ain't even did nothing to you, but I will tell you one thing. You better not fuckin' push me no more!" Mo snapped as she went into the closet to grab her things. She wasn't about to put up with his bullshit.

Quan knew in his heart that he had taken things too far, but guilt-ridden feelings and anger had just taken over him.

For some reason, he just couldn't control himself. He couldn't stand the thought of some other man caressing and touching his woman. The mere thought of it enraged him. Quan knew he had to make things right, so he decided at that moment to say whatever he needed to say to make her stay.

"Ma, ma, ma, calm down," he begged, grabbing her arm and pulling her close.

"Nah, fuck that! Let me go! I'm up!" She fought, trying to break loose.

"Shh, just be quiet. I'm sorry." He held her tight. "That was the Hen talkin', ma. I was high and trippin', I ain't mean none of that shit ... but look how you dressed."

"So fuckin' what! I am not about to walk around the house with a bunch of clothes on just to make your insecure ass happy, so get over it!"

"I'ma let that last comment slide ... but I done told you to stop coming around my boys dressin' all sexy and shit!"

"Quan ... it don't matter what the fuck I got on! Them fake-ass niggas gon' look at me anyway! Hell, half them muthafuckas you hang wit have already tried to talk to me!

What, you think just because I'm wit you they ain't still tryin'?"

"Which one? It was West, wasn't it?" Quan questioned, furious.

"That's for me to know ... and for you to worry about," Mo replied with a snap of the neck and a roll of the eye.

"What the fuck you just say?"

"You heard me."

"Yo, I swear to God!"

"You swear to God what?"

"I should crack yo' fuckin' skull in!" Quan came toward her with a balled-up fist.

"Nigga please, I wish you would. Whateva!"

"Whateva my ass! You gon' fuck around and get yo' ass beat up in this muthafucka!" Quan warned as he turned around and walked away.

"Nah nigga, don't walk away now! The truth hurt, don't it?

What, you thought them niggas cared about you? They don't give a fuck about you!" Mo yelled, following him into the hallway.

"Mo, you better gon' wit all that bullshit! I ain't playin'!"

"I don't give a fuck if you playin' or not!" she spat, mushing him in the back of his head. Before he could catch himself, Quan turned around and slapped the holy shit out of her.

"
I told you to gon'!
"

Quan slapped Mo so hard that she fell onto the hard wooden floor with a thud. "Now look. I told yo' stupid ass to leave me the fuck alone!"

"Oh, so you hittin' me is my fault?" she screamed.

"Man, Mo, don't play dumb wit me! You know what the fuck you be doing! You say stupid shit all the time just to piss me off!"

"I can't believe you sittin' up here trying to blame this on me?" She shook her head in disbelief. "You know what, just stay the fuck away from me!"

"No problem!" Quan shot as he grabbed his car keys.

"Where you think you going?"

"That's for me to know and for you to worry about!" he snapped, walking out the door.

Playin' Her Position

Opening her eyes, thankful for another day, Mo woke up in
bed alone. She figured that after cooling off, Quan would've
come home, but he didn't.
Mo had stayed up half the night calling him on his cell phone but he wouldn't answer. She was sick out of her mind with worry. She didn't know where he could be.

Pissed that he still hadn't come home, she picked up the phone and called him but Quan still wouldn't answer. Mo hopped out of the bed and went into her walk-in closet. Fuck being on bed rest, she was about to go find that no good son-of-a-bitch. Quan wasn't about to disrespect her like that and get away with it.

After smoothing her hair up into a ponytail, she threw on a fitted shirt, jeans and a pair of six inch brown Cesare Paciotti boots. Once that was done, Mo put on a creme peacoat, grabbed her brown Kooba purse and headed out the door.

Homegirl never left the house looking a mess. Even during desperate times she stayed fly.

She didn't even know where to look for Quan at that hour of morning, but her first hunch was to try one his friends' houses. If it was after dark Mo would've gone on the block or to a night club, but at eight o'clock on a Sunday morning her choices were limited. All she knew was he had better been over one of his pot'nahs houses 'cause if he was with another chick, all hell was gonna break loose.

Mo figured nine times out of ten that he had gone over to West's house. She knew that they were mad at each other over something, but Quan and West always stayed into it. One minute they were brothers for life and then the next they were threatening to kill one another. West didn't live that far from them so it only took her a few minutes to get there.

At first, Mo felt kind of stupid knocking on his door that early in the morning, but fuck that, she was on a mission. She had to find her man. It took a while, but after ringing the door bell three times, West finally came to the door. Mo damn near came on herself when she saw him.

The man stood before her in nothing but a pair of boxers.

West had a body of a Greek god. He was tall, with broad shoulders, and he had a perfect washboard stomach.

Just the sight of him made Mo's nipples hard. Every time she saw him he looked sexier and sexier. Mo swore that if she didn't control herself she would reach out and touch him he looked so good.

"What's up, ma? What you doing over here this early?" he yawned, rubbing the coal out of his eyes.

"I'm sorry for wakin' you up but I was lookin' for Quan.

Have you seen him?"

"Nah, I ain't seen him. Why? What's up, something happen?" he asked as he stepped aside to let her in.

"You know how Quan is. Whateva y'all was down there arguing about, he took it out on me, so of course we started arguing and he left. I've been tryin' to call him all night but he won't answer the phone. I don't know what's wrong with him but he's pissin' me off."

"Look at you all worried and shit. That man a'ight."

"I hope so. Like ... normally I wouldn't even trip but wit me being pregnant and him clowning like this, it ain't even cool. Hell, I'm on bed rest. I ain't even supposed to be out of bed."
