I believe in love, lust, sex, and romance. I don’t want
everything to add up to the perfect equation. I want mess and chaos. I want
someone to go crazy out of his mind for me. I want to feel passion and heat and
madness.
I want it all.

Chapter 1

The rain poured
down in sheets creating a symphony of sounds as it bounced off windows, garbage
cans, and the empty street. It was late, sometime after two a.m., and most
respectable people were tucked away against the weather in their beds, sound
asleep and dreaming of everything the new day would bring.

I wasn’t one of
those respectable people. I’d been suffering insomnia on and off throughout my
life but the last few days, it had only gotten worse. I didn’t know what to do
with myself. I tossed and turned, restless in my bed, until the darkness
surrounding me weighed down like claustrophobia. I needed to get out. I needed
to walk. Something in the night called to me.

At that hour,
you don’t encounter many neighbors on the street. The world is wrapped in an
eerie stillness that is unshakable. If it weren’t for the rain pouring down
around me, the world would have felt unreal.

The cold droplets
eventually began to permeate my clothes as I walked. I pulled my jacket around
me tighter to no avail. It only brought the wetness closer to my skin. I felt a
single, lonely raindrop trace a path from my neck down between my breasts. I
didn’t regret not wearing a bra. The sensation of rain against my skin
invigorated me, almost to the point of being arousing.

It was just then
I caught a glimpse of someone on the road ahead. He was clad in a black
raincoat, his face hidden by the wide brim of a black umbrella. He appeared to
be watching something in the distance but from my point of view, I couldn’t
tell what it was.

Common sense may
have told me to walk the other way and avoid strangers on empty roads so late
at night. But common sense had abandoned me after days of fitful sleep. My
curiosity urged me closer.

The stranger
didn’t sense my presence as I drew closer. His attention was absorbed in
something more important. As I stood a few feet behind him undetected, I caught
a glimpse of the sight that commanded his full attention. We were not the only
two awake so late at night. A single light emanated from the house in front of
us from one large window. The curtains were pulled back to reveal its occupants.
Perhaps the couple didn’t care about the window because they believed their
privacy was secured by the lateness of the night? Or maybe they just didn’t
care if someone, like this man, stopped to watch? Did the man know the couple
or had he simply happened upon them as he walked?

The couple was
completely entangled and oblivious to everything around them, their attention fully
absorbed in one another. Both beautiful bodies glimmered with sweat from their exertions.
While a part of me wanted to yell out to the man for being a pervert and
watching the unsuspecting couple, another part of me couldn’t blame him. Something
about them was entrancing and I found it nearly impossible to pull my attention
away.

A quiet sigh
escaped the stranger’s lips. He was enjoying the performance. The rain around
us poured harder. I was suddenly aware of how much I was enjoying it too. My
clothes clung to my flesh making my body ache for more closeness. I wanted to
switch places with the young woman in the window. Her lover’s arms were wrapped
tightly around her as he thrust his hips to meet hers.

A sigh must have
betrayed my existence because suddenly the stranger turned around to notice me
standing there.

A look of shock
quickly turned to something darker, anger perhaps, maybe embarrassment?

“What are you
looking at?” he said scowling.

I stammered
trying to find the words as I was jolted from the erotic scene painted before
me. I hadn’t anticipated what I would say to the man. I hadn’t expected to
speak to him at all. I wanted to slip away and fade into the night. I turned
and started walking in the direction of my home as the light from the lovers’
house flickered off making me feel very alone and very vulnerable.

“Hey, where are
you going?” he asked as I picked up my pace. He caught up to me quickly. I
didn’t dare look at his face.

“Here, share my
umbrella. It’s pouring out here,” he said.

“No thanks,” I
told him, “I’d rather walk alone.”

“Don’t get the
wrong idea about me. I’m not some pervert or anything,” he said ignoring me.

“It’s okay,
really. You don’t have to explain yourself to me. I don’t even know you.”

“I wasn’t
watching.”

“Sure.”

“It’s late.”

I felt his body
heat as he continued walking beside me feeling some strange need to make
conversation. What invisible force kept him near me? Why didn’t he just go away
and leave me alone, the way I wanted to be?

I glanced at
him, his face distorted by shadows. He was handsome from what I could tell, in
a rugged sort of way. I wasn’t expecting to find myself attracted to him. He
smiled at me. It was a warm smile covering a cold loneliness in his eyes. It
was hard not to feel drawn to him. He seemed to relax as I contemplated him.
Suddenly he felt more like an old friend than a complete stranger.

“What are you
doing out here all by yourself in the middle of the night?” he asked. “It’s
dangerous. You never know what pervert you could meet out on the streets at
this hour.” He laughed softly at his own humor.

I didn’t find it
so amusing.

I stopped in
front of my house realizing in horror that I’d just led this complete stranger
to my home. For all I knew, he’d be outside watching my windows some night.
Instead of repulsing me as this idea should have, it actually sent a shiver of
excitement to my core. This confused me even more. I should run screaming but
here I was practically handing myself over to a man that for all I knew could
be a rapist or a killer.

What would I do?

We lingered
there for a moment, neither of us saying a word. Sexual electricity charged the
air around us with the memory of the couple still fresh in our minds. I looked
into his eyes. They may have been a deep brown but it was hard to tell in the
darkness. I looked away to break the spell.

“It’s getting
chilly,” he said finally.

“Yes, I should
go inside.”

“I don’t suppose
I could trouble you for a cup of coffee?”

Absolutely not.
I wasn’t crazy enough to invite this stranger into my home. He read the horror
in my eyes and nodded in understanding. His compassionate look told me that
he’d do the same in my situation. Still, we lingered there unable or unwilling
to break the odd magnetic attraction between us. I began to shiver. He put one
large arm around me and pulled me close to him. I felt warm, sweet breath on my
face and I couldn’t bring myself to break the connection. I wanted him and I
didn’t care about the consequences.

I closed my eyes
as his lips pressed against my lips and I breathed deeply into the moment. He
wanted me too. Now it was unmistakable. His tongue tested mine carefully. A
strong hand lingered momentarily at my waist and then slowly traced a path to
my breast. I pressed myself harder into his gentle touch, almost melting into
his arms. Somewhere in my mind I began to rationalize the experience, telling
myself it was only a dream even though I knew that even a dream couldn’t
possibly feel this good.

I wanted more.
He started to pull away but I resisted letting him go. He looked into my eyes
searching for answers to unspoken questions that hung between us.

“Do you still
want that cup of coffee?” I whispered.

He pulled me in
closer still finding my lips with a sense of urgency and purpose. I felt my
front door smooth and cold against my back as he pushed against me. I let out a
whimper and managed to put enough distance between us to fumble in my pocket
for the key to the door, barely able to insert it into the keyhole to open us
into the quiet of my home.

We didn’t bother
turning on any lights. We didn’t bother with the coffee pot either.

For a moment we
were two shadows unmoving in the darkness. We stared at each other in silence
even though there was little we could see. Then he closed and locked the door
behind me. I drew a quick breath as my heart leapt in my chest. I momentarily
panicked. There was no turning back now. For better or for worse, the handsome
stranger was standing in my house and seemed to loom tall over me.

“I want to see
you naked,” he whispered in my ear.

I shuddered. The
cold dampness had soaked through me. I needed to get out of these wet clothes.
A hot shower would feel really good.

There didn’t
seem to be much point in saying anything. The image of the young lovers on
display in the window flashed through my mind and warmth spread over me. A part
of me wanted them to watch what I was about to do.

I turned and
headed down the hall toward my shower knowing he would follow. Not wanting the
harshness of overhead light to break the spell in which we were undeniably
trapped, I fumbled for the small candle and matches that I kept in the
bathroom. The light fragrance of vanilla began to fill the room.

The stranger
remained in the doorway as I slowly began peeling away the wet layers of
clothing. First I let my jacket slide down my arms and I tossed aside. My blue
t-shirt clung tightly to my breasts, each nipple erect with the sensations and
commanding his full attention.

I unsnapped my
jeans and slowly inched them over my hips, down my thighs, and to my feet. A
gentle kick and the jeans landed next to the discarded jacket. I was left
standing in the revealing t-shirt and a pair of matching bikini briefs trimmed
in lace while the shadows danced on the walls of the bathroom to the flicker of
the candle. I contemplated whether or not I could continue this strip. His
hungry eyes watched me intently, silently begging for more. I wondered how he
managed to practice such self control standing in the doorway watching me but
then, this obviously wasn’t his first time watching.

“Don’t stop,” he
pleaded in a voice saturated in lust. The words sent a spark of electricity
through my core and with his gaze locked into mine, I didn’t want to stop.

The sound of his
voice willed me to continue. Without hesitation, I peeled the wet t-shirt off
my skin, over my head, and let it drop to the floor. My breasts glistened in
the candlelight. The stranger licked his lips as he stared at them. My legs
trembled slightly as I pushed my panties down to the floor leaving me
completely naked on full display for the unknown man. He still didn’t move from
his space in the doorway and I wasn’t sure what he expected me to do.

I stepped into
the shower without bothering to close the shower curtain. I felt his eyes
follow me. I turned on steamy water and let it cascade over me, the heat of the
shower washing away the cold of the rain. I closed my eyes and massaged my skin
under the water. I imagined I was outside again in the rain watching the lovers
entwined in their perfect embrace, satisfying each other’s desires completely.
I imagined I was in the beautiful woman’s place being pleasured in a way I’d
never experienced before.

It felt natural
to let my hands slide over my skin. I longed to be touched and caressed. I
opened my eyes to find that the stranger had moved closer but still hadn’t made
any motions to join me. He still watched me with the same intense stare as he
leaned casually against the bathroom wall where he had a better vantage point of
the show that I would inevitably give him. My hands stroked my breasts, a
simple act that I was no stranger to performing in the privacy of my own
sheets, but somehow managed to elicit a moan as I teased myself in front of the
man. I could see the reflection of my lust in his eyes and it propelled me
forward. He reached out to let one hand trail over my wet skin and seek the
place between my thighs that had ached.

He pressed two
fingers firmly and circled. I didn’t dare to look away from him. I opened myself
wider to accommodate him as he continued to pleasure me.

He was breathing
faster, almost panting as he watched me. Despite what must have been a damp
chill from his rain-soaked clothes, a few beads of sweat appeared along his
forehead but he never took his eyes off me. I wanted to see how much our
actions affected him but that damn coat kept all traces of his arousal hidden
from my view, simultaneously frustrating me and turning me on even more.
