The Truth Behind The Lies (3 page)

I picked up my coffee to take a sip. Bash produced a business card from somewhere I missed. He slid it across the table.

“This is my cell. You call me whenever you feel the urge to talk. I will meet you at La Bitsro Cabernet at seven tonight.”

“Okay.”

“Dial my number from your cell right now so I can have your number stored in my phone.”

I picked up his business card with one hand and grabbed my purse off the back of my chair. Bash watched me intently as I rummaged around in my purse looking for my cell phone. His intense scrutiny made me hot and anxious but I was determined to put on an air of confidence. I finally retrieved my cell and dialed his number. I heard a buzz in his pocket. He retrieved his phone and looked at it.

“Thank you Nina Norwood.”

“You’re welcome Sebastian Vandervol.”

Bash smiled with all his teeth. “This day keeps getting better.” He ran two of his fingers across his lips as he stared directly at my lips. His fingers were long and thick. I hadn’t realized just how big his hands were. I wondered if that meant something. I sure hoped so. Bash was manly fine, not in any way feminine but just all out handsome, sexy man. He has stories to tell and I want to hear them all. I need this. I need to get my mind off that mind-fuck relationship I had with David.

“I have to get back to work. I’m not sure if you do.”

“I’m off today.”

“Really?” He raised one perfect flaxen brow at me.

“Yes I had a few things to do so I took a vacation day. I really need to get to my errands and I don’t want to keep you from work.”

“Yes I will just see you tonight. Are you ready to go?”

“Yes.” I reached back and grabbed my purse off the back of my chair. I tossed my cell inside of it. I grabbed my sunglasses off the table and tossed them into my purse. Bash and I stood at the same time. He waited for me to walk pass him and he ushered me to the front door of the shop.

CHAPTER 2

The sun was on full blast. Bash held his hand on the small of my back. His fingertips had a direct line to my heated core. As soon as we walked out to the sidewalk the humidity and heat slapped my face suffocating me. I hoped I wouldn’t break out into a wringing wet sweat. That wouldn’t be cute at all.

“It’s really hot out here.” Bash said, as if reading my mind.

He took my hand and led me across the street when the traffic permitted it. His hand on mind was so sweet, so high school, so abnormal for me. I really love it more than I should.

We were walking hand-in-hand through the police station parking lot. We passed a row of brand new black and white squad cars. They could just be clean.

Bash turned to me with a nice sheen over his flawless face. “Where are you parked?”

“I’m just parked over there.” I let his hand go and pointed a few rows back near the trees. “I’ll be okay from here.” I assured him.

“I’m a gentleman. I’m going to walk you to your car.”

“Great.” I smiled and took my turn leading him. I wondered if he just wanted to see what I was rolling in but then again do men do that. I don’t know.

Bash happily walked at my side. He was telling the world that he was with me. Or was I telling the world I’m with him? Please Lord why am I questioning every single word or move this man makes? This is weird.

He took my hand again and I couldn’t pull away if I wanted to. I must admit I didn’t want to. His touch felt fresh, new and damn good. Why I was so attracted to this man was a mystery to me. Why was I constantly questioning my attraction to him? I had just met him but I felt so comfortable that his skin against mine was relaxing instead of overwhelming. His touch was soothing, not overbearing. I wanted more but I was hell-bent on acting like a lady and not a tramp.

We walked to the rear of the parking lot. My black BMW was parked near an SUV. I cringed when I thought of the beater I had before this. I drove that thing until the wheels fell off.

“I’m here.” I pointed to my car with my palm instead of my finger. I was so glad I got a car wash this morning. I wouldn’t want him to think I was dirty. Why do I care what he thinks? Girl Stop!

“The Beemer is you?” He smiled with his teeth distracting me from the blinding sun. Are those things real or porcelain veneers?

“Yes, this is me.”

“Nice car, it drives great. I love this car.”

“You’ve driven one before?”

“Yes, I have one, same make, model, color, and I think the same year.”

“Really?” Was he bullshitting me?

“Weird huh? Open up, let me look inside.”

“Why?”

He smiled his charming dimpled smile. “Nina.” He blinked in slow motion. “Hit the locks.” He cocked his head ignoring my question. He was giving me a matter of fact order with a slight glint of his eyes. Oh my.

I did as I was told and watched him casually jog to the passenger side. He opened the passenger door and climbed in. The police station gave me a sense of comfort. I would never get into my car with a stranger otherwise. He could knock me out, tase me or something. If Bash knocks we out and kidnaps me outside a police station adorned with video cameras, then I was supposed to be kidnapped.

He’s inside my car, too late now. Why even think the worse? He didn’t really do anything to garner all the extremely cautionary thoughts. I got into the drivers seat and placed my purse on the floor by my feet.

“It’s hot in here.” He said as he smiled.

That was my cue to turn the ignition and put the air condition on. Bash closed the passenger door before I closed mine. What was he doing sitting in my car? He moved his seat back. He needed more leg room.

“Where’s your car?” I asked because I was curious and I didn’t know what else to say at that moment.

“The white one over there.”

I looked out the front windshield to where he was pointing. “Where?”

“You wear glasses? It’s the white one right over there.” He pointed out toward my front windshield.

“The white one with blue door and no fender?” I poked my frosty pink glossed lips out and turned to him.

“That one.”

“That’s not your car.”

“How do you know?”

“I’m smarter than I look.”

“You look pretty smart. You smell pretty damn delicious too.”

“That couldn’t be your car.” I rolled my eyes. I couldn’t help it.

“Why do you say that?”

“Because your shoes cost more than that car.”

Bash looked down at his shoes than back up at me. He cracked a smile that hit me over the head.

“I’m just bull-shitting you. I’m in the silver Porsche. I don’t think you can see it from here.”

I couldn’t see it from this far back but I did notice it when I went in the station. I just didn’t give it much thought and I honestly didn’t even know it was a Porsche. I just noticed a shiny silver sports car parked next to a gray Mercedes.

“A Porsche?” I questioned him with my eyes. He was probably going to chew me up and spit me out. I’m on a break from men. Do I want to be chewed up? Good question. He can chew me up and lick me. I probably would let him tie me up. No I wouldn’t. I don’t trust these men out here.

“In case you’re wondering. I’m not going through a midlife crisis. I just like the car.”

“You can drive whatever you want. I don’t judge people by their cars.”

“That’s good to know. I feel like the white car with the blue door.”

“But you look like a silver Porsche.”

“I think that was a compliment.”

“It was.”

Bash’s body shifted toward me. “Nina, our time today was brief but I had a good time with you today. So don’t stand me up for dinner tonight.” His words rang with worry and sincerity.

“Why would I do that?” Who turns down free meals? Not me. I like food.

“You’re an accountant. So that means you think too much.”

“That’s pretty presumptuous.”

“Maybe, but sometimes if it feels right just do it.”

“That’s an adolescent way of looking at things.” and the Nike advertising catch phrase. Am I being rude?

“Kids have the utmost fun.” He smiled with his bright teeth. He had a naughty glare in his eyes that was primal and sinful. I was becoming unnerved, more unnerved. He had me on edge since the elevator.

“Why are you looking at me like that?” I asked because I needed to know. I needed to say something out loud to disguise the voices in my head. I also had to stop the drool that was sure to pool at the corners of me lips if I continued to gaze in his icy blue eyes.

“Looking at you like what?” He innocently asked.

“Like you’re going to eat me.” My mouth was going to get me in trouble now. But damn he looked like he was trying to get in where he fit in.

“You smell good enough to eat.” Bash placed his hand on my hand. He used his fingertips to trace up my arm to my elbow. He glided his fingers up to my shoulder and smoothed them over my collarbone. He rubbed his thumb over my chin and his huge hands ran across my throat and landed on the back of my neck. He massaged the little kinks at the back of my hairline that needed to be permed. He squeezed my neck just a little and pulled my face to his.

My mouth fell open as he pressed his lips to mine. His lips were so soft, fabric softener soft. His tongue was loose, moist and tasted of coffee and cranberry cheesecake. His kisses were tender but the hold on my neck was seductively savage. He had me in his firm grip. I couldn’t back away although I didn’t want to. He was controlling the kisses and me.

News flash, I’m kissing a stranger. What’s his name? Oh yes, it’s Bash, Sebastian Vandervol. His name was royalty and his kisses were primal but regal. This was getting out of hand.

My entire body was responding to his tongue. My inner slut was begging to show herself. She wanted to get ahold of Bash’s pant zipper. She wanted to hold her first German dick in her hand. I regulated her slutty ass to time-out. Have several seats slut.

I had never experienced a kiss that was so sensual and inviting. My nipples hardened against the fabric of my bra. They were so stiff they ached and burned.

It was like Bash could sense the pain my nipples were going through. He masterfully slipped his hand inside my dress. He slid his palm inside the left cup of my bra and started to massage my hard aching nipple. He tweaked the textured skin of my nipple and massaged it in tense circles. My nipples felt better but now my pussy ached.

“Ohhhh!” I sighed into his wet mouth as he kissed me breathless. Earlier I daydreamed what it will feel like if he was inside me. This was back when he made that German in you comment. I felt another urge to move my hand to his crotch. Why? Oh no! Nina snap out of it! I reprimanded myself.

“Bash.” I moaned. He had released my neck and his hand was moving up my thigh. I clamped my legs together. I had to get ahold of this situation.

“Bash.” I mumbled into his mouth. “Wa, wa, wait.” I stuttered like a drunk person.

Bash unwillingly pulled his lips from mine. He relaxed his hands but he still was caressing my pliable breast. It felt so good.

“We have to stop.” I begged him hoping I sounded convincing.

“Why?” He moaned. Oh God he sounds so innocent and sexy. His husky voice was too much.

“We’re in a car. I just met you. I don’t do this.”

“I don’t either but I can’t help it. I want to touch you. I want to kiss you. I want you.”

“Bash.” I pleaded but he squeezed my breast and pinched my nipple so hard. He almost brought me to orgasm. He was a crafty, sneaky blue-eyed bastard. I covered his hand with my hand as he played with my sore nipple. “Slow down. We’re in the police station parking lot.” I looked around at our surroundings and then back into his dreamy blue eyes.

“I know where we are.”

“We could get arrested.”

“For kissing?” He chuckled as his eyes roamed the lot of me.

“Bash.”

“I can afford to bail us out.”

“You have an answer for everything?”

“Nina, I wanted to be inside you the moment I saw you.”

“So this was your plan.”

“No Nina, I didn’t have a plan. I’m just excited that I’m here with you. I can’t stop touching you. I want to taste you. I want to eat your pussy and lick your ass. I need to see if you taste like chocolate.”

Oh my! “In this car?”

He smiled. “No, not in this car. I can’t do all those things in this car. Just let me touch you.”

“Just touch me.” He was tricking me. I was letting him by entertaining this trickery.

“I’m just excited that I found you.” He rubbed my nipple over his flat palm.

“You don’t even know me.”

“I know how you make me feel.”

“Horny.” I curtly blurted.

He grinned. “Yes Nina like never before.”

He almost sounds sincere. “You are so overwhelming.” He was so much more than that. So over the top. So extra, so IMAX theater.

“I never felt this much animal attraction before so I’m being very greedy.”
