Moon led me to the last locked door. It was made of steel. She opened it and I walked in alone.
I looked back at her but Moon had already started walking away.
There was a little light coming from the jail cell on my left. The jail cell on my right was empty. A frail body lay balled up on a cot. The picked-over remains of food sat on a tray on the floor inside the jail cell. The small body moved from the wall and turned in my direction. I walked up to the bars to get a closer look.
“Is it morning already?” The voice moaned out as it took the image of me in.
“Not quite.”
She squinted as she swung her bare feet to the cement floor. She stood upright. She slowly ambled up to the bars. Her dead green eyes came up at me and scanned my entire body.
“Finally my husband has graced me with his presence.” She grinned and pushed her oily blonde hair back from her face.
“Caroline.”
“Are you here to kill me?”
This story was a thought I had while I was riding alone in an elevator at a medical building. I was on my way to get a mammogram that was two years overdue. It’s rare to get into an elevator with someone you find attractive. So this idea came to me as I was riding the elevator down to the ground level. Of course I changed the doctors office to the police station just to add a bit of mystery to the story.
When writing the story I envisioned the character Sebastian as an Alexander Skarsgard lookalike. I never really had a clear picture of the Nina character but as time went on I envisioned her to look like Gabrielle Union.
This book poured out of me and halted some of the other projects I have in the works. It forced me to stop writing them and focus only on it. I have a few series that I plan to wrap up. This book started going so long I was forced to write a second book. I am ¼ done with The Truth Behind The Lies 2. I am still working on Scarlet Fever the final book in the Fox Brothers series. I have a final La Femme Selita Book to write along with a book in the Balls To The Walls Erotica Series. Please be patient with me. I love to write IR fiction and will never stop.
