“Your room is ready, sir,” Mr. Lyons called out.

Thomas looked up at Duncan. “If he knows my size, why do I need to go into a dressing room and try the clothes on?”

“You don’t.” Duncan shook his head. “I’ll just purchase whatever he picked out for you.”

“But,” Thomas sputtered, “he grabbed half the damn store.”

“You need clothes,” Duncan insisted. “You came to Ireland unprepared. Now that you have a job, working at my pub, you need to have more than a couple pairs of jeans and a few T-shirts.”

“Okay,” he said with a sigh.

Thomas marched toward the rear of the store where Mr. Lyons stood, waiting for them.

“Would you like anything to drink?” he asked. “Water, tea, coffee, wine, champagne…”

“No, thank you,” Thomas said.

“I’ll have water,” Duncan told the storeowner.

“Bottled or sparkling?”

“Bottled is fine.”

“Perfect.” He grinned. “I set you up in room number two.”

Thomas strolled down the hallway with Duncan at his heels. He found the room and opened the door. The fitting room was unlike anything he’d seen before. This definitely wasn’t a store inside the mall at home. Plush creamy carpet spread out along the floor and two large overstuffed armchairs sat near a wall that was completely covered in mirrors. Stepping inside the room, Thomas rolled his feet, going from his tiptoes to his heels, testing out how bouncing the carpet felt underneath his shoes.

Turning around, he faced Duncan. “I’ll make you a deal.”

“I’m listening.” Duncan mimicked his words from earlier.

“I’ll let you buy me some clothes,” he started.

“Let me?” Duncan’s brows shot up.

Thomas sighed. “I don’t want you to spend a lot of money on me, but I understand what you’re saying. I didn’t bring enough clothes with me. And if I’m going to stay here, I need to have a jacket and some other things, but I don’t want you to go overboard.”

“I’m sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable. That wasn’t my intention.”

“No,” He shook his head. “It’s not that.”

Duncan wrapped his arms around Thomas, pulling him in close for a hug. “I care about you, and I want you to stay here in Ireland with me. I really want to take care of you, but if you don’t want the clothes, we can leave.”

Thomas was surprised his mate was human. The man spoke and often acted as if he were paranormal. The connection between them went both ways, and Thomas could feel it growing, creating a stronger bond. He didn’t need a bite mark to grace his shoulder in order to feel as though he’d been marked and claimed.

“Okay.” Thomas tilted his head back. “But only a few things.”

“Deal.” Duncan kissed his forehead.

Chapter Ten

Hours later, Thomas and Duncan were out on their date. Dressed in his Hugo Boss tuxedo, Thomas sat ramrod straight in the SUV, trying not to fidget as nervous energy raced through his veins. He stared out the windshield, his mind a million miles away. The sun was already setting, sending out bright shards of light as it dipped below the horizon.

Duncan grasped Thomas’s hand, intertwining their fingers. “Why are you so tense, love?”

Glancing over at the other man, Thomas took a deep breath and blew it out slowly. “I don’t know,” he lied.

“We’re going to Darby Castle for dinner, drinks, and dancing. Trust me. We’re gonna have fun.”

“I trust you.” It was the truth.

“Good.” Duncan winked. “Then try to relax a little.”

Leaning back into the soft leather seat, Thomas sighed. He rolled his shoulders and tried to relax. He wasn’t sure if it was the tux or the fact that he was accompanying Duncan to the place he’d reported to Agent Palmer, but either way, he was anxious.

“Here we are,” Duncan announced.

He pulled down a long gravel driveway. The tires crunched over the stone surface. Large metal torches stood tall beside the road, lighting a pathway toward a giant castle in the distance.
Five round towers rose up, dominating the sky. As the moon brightened in the night sky, the light seemed to create a halo around the entire place, making it appear as if it were enchanted.
Thomas’s mouth fell open. The estate was larger than anything he’d ever seen before.

As they got closer, Thomas noticed a line of expensive cars in front of them. Valet parking attendants ran around, opening doors for other guests and moving their vehicles. They worked quickly and efficiently until, finally, the passenger side door opened.

“Good evening, sir.”

Thomas smiled, nodding as he stepped out of the SUV. “Good evening.”

Thomas stood to the side, waiting for Duncan. The man joined him a moment later. Duncan placed a hand on Thomas’s lower back, escorting him through the wide open doors, following the line of people. The concrete floor gave way to a deep red carpet as they walked inside the castle.

Medieval suits of armor lined both sides of the dim hallway. Thomas’s eyes bounced off each silver suit, checking out the amazing metalwork and ancient weapons. When they stepped out of the hallway, Thomas paused and stared out at the great room in front of him. Tall ceilings, crystal chandeliers, gold-accented walls, and a sea of people greeted him. All of the guests were drinking, eating
hors d'oeuvre
s, and playing various casino games. The men were dressed in expensive tuxedos, and the women, dripping in diamonds, were wearing elegant gowns.

“What are we doing here?” Thomas asked, looking around. “What is this place?”

He’d assumed Duncan was taking him to an illegal casino, but Thomas got the feeling that wasn’t the case at all.

“It’s a charity event,” Duncan said. He wrapped his arm around Thomas’s waist, leading him into the great room. They passed a few table games that Thomas recognized as blackjack, craps, and roulette. “Let’s get a drink from the bar.”

“Okay.”

“Do you like to gamble, love?”

“I’ve never actually been to a casino.”

“It’s my lucky night.”

“Why do you say that?”

“Beginners’ luck,” Duncan simply said.

They moved through the throng of people, weaving their way toward one of the bars.

“What do you want to drink?” Duncan asked.

“I’ll just have a soda.”

“Okay.”

Duncan waved toward to the bartender, and the man strode over. While he ordered their drinks, Thomas turned around and faced the crowd. People were cheering and laughing, chatting animatedly as they played various games. Slot machines chimed, spitting out coins.

“So, how does this all work?”

“All the money you lose goes to charity. And at the end of the night, most people donate their winnings as well.”

Thomas was speechless. He didn’t really know what to say or how to respond. His mate might be involved in some illegal activities, but he wasn’t all bad. There were quite a few redeeming qualities to him, which made Thomas’s job even harder. It would’ve been a lot easier if Duncan was a complete and total bastard, but he wasn’t.

“There are a few big charity events each year to raise money for local hospitals, rehab centers, and organizations to help children. The organizers are always looking for new, exciting themes to draw a crowd. The casino night was my idea.”

“Are you always invited to these events?” At Duncan’s raised brow, Thomas quickly tried to backpedal. “I didn’t mean that as an insult. It came out wrong. I just meant…”

Duncan smiled. “It’s okay. I understand what you meant. But, like I said before, some people may not like my methods, but they’ll take my money and accept my help.”

Duncan handed Thomas a glass of soda, and he took it. Lifting it to his lips, he took a sip.

“Well, I think this is great. You’re amazing.” Thomas leaned forward and kissed Duncan. As soon as their lips touched, he pulled back and looked around. A few people were staring at them, but nobody said a word. “Is it okay that we’re together?”

He wasn’t sure if they were the only gay couple in attendance or what the folks in Ireland deemed as acceptable behavior. Was he allowed to hold Duncan’s hand? Were they together as a couple, or was he supposed to be Duncan’s “friend”? Suddenly feeling uncomfortable, Thomas wished he would’ve asked sooner so that he would know how to act.

“Of course.”

Duncan kissed him, his lips lingering against Thomas’s. He wasn’t in a hurry, nor did he seem to care that they had an audience. He ate at Thomas’s mouth, devouring each whimper and whine. When he finally pulled back, Thomas was breathless.

“Do you want to dance?”

“Sure.”

Duncan downed his drink and left it on the bar. Thomas took another sip of his water before abandoning his glass as well. Duncan grasped his hand and escorted him toward the makeshift dance floor, away from the loud crowd. Duncan wrapped his arms around Thomas’s waist, and he put his hands on the man’s shoulders. They started swaying with the beat of the music, moving in perfect harmony.

He stared up into Duncan’s vibrant blue eyes, and everything else seemed to fade away. It was just the two of them.

“You look so handsome tonight.” Duncan’s hands slid down and cupped Thomas’s ass.

“You look pretty damn good yourself.” Thomas winked.

Thomas wasn’t sure how it was possible, but suddenly he heard sirens in the distance. His heart skipped a beat before slamming against his chest. He wasn’t sure if it was the authorities coming to crash the party or if it was only his overactive imagination, but either way, he couldn’t take any chances. He didn’t want the other agents to see Duncan at the event, just in case things weren’t entirely legal. Stepping out of Duncan’s embrace, Thomas grabbed hold of his hand.

“I…I uh…” He cleared his throat, looking for a quick exit. “I want to see something.”

“Lead the way.”

Thomas spotted a velvet rope blocking a staircase in the back corner. He ignored it. Stepping over the obstacle, he jogged up the stone stairs, toward the second floor with Duncan at his heels. He took charge, pretending as if he had a destination in mind, but in reality, his only goal was to hide out for a while.

“Does anyone live in this place?”

“No, it’s used as a rental property for events.”

That was a relief. He wouldn’t have to worry about anyone finding them. He glanced into each room as they passed, looking for a dark corner where they could be alone. Thomas stopped when he found the perfect place. The room was small and tidy. There was a table and a few chairs. Other than that, it was empty. Walking over the threshold, he closed the heavy door behind them and flipped the lock into place.

“What are we doing in here?”

“I need you.”

Thomas unbuttoned his jacket and took it off. He folded it carefully and laid it over a nearby chair before unbuttoning and unzipping his pants. He wasn’t sure if this was a good idea or not, but he wanted to distract Duncan, just in case the siren was heading this way. He was hoping that one of the organizers would stop the agents before things got out of control.

Duncan grinned. When he didn’t make a move, Thomas reached out. He wrapped his hand around the back of Duncan’s neck and pulled him in for another kiss. Duncan took a few steps forward, backing Thomas up. When the backs of his thighs hit the table, Duncan lifted Thomas up off the floor and sat him down on the hard surface. Leaning backward, Thomas laid down. Duncan pulled off his pants, dropping them onto the table beside him.

“You’re lucky I brought a little packet of lube.”

Duncan shoved his hand into his pocket and produced a single-use packet of lubricant. He tore open the edge and slicked up a couple fingers. Thomas spread his legs apart. He lifted his feet, pressing his heels into the edge of the table for support. When Duncan’s cool fingers brushed against his hole, Thomas gasped.

“I’m not sure how much time we have, love.”

“I don’t care. Just fuck me,” Thomas begged. “I want to feel you inside me.”

“I didn’t bring a condom.” Duncan sighed.

“We already talked about this.” Thomas moved his hips, sinking down on Duncan’s finger. “I don’t want you to wear a condom. I want your cum in my ass.”

“Christ,” Duncan groaned. “I don’t think you’ll be that happy when you have to walk out of here with my cum dripping down your thighs.”

“Fine.” Thomas started unbuttoning his white dress shirt. “Then pull out and come on my chest.”

“Jesus.” Duncan shook his head. “The way you talk.”

Duncan quickly added a second finger, scissoring the digits in an effort to stretch Thomas. He squeezed out more lube, pushing the slick substance into Thomas’s hole. After a couple of minutes, he pulled his fingers free.

He unzipped his pants, and the material fell to the floor, exposing Duncan’s hard cock. He wiped the remaining lube on his shaft before pressing the head of his cock against Thomas’s hole. Gripping his hips in a bruising hold, Duncan pushed forward, easing his thick shaft into Thomas’s body. Duncan filled him, and Thomas’s body welcomed the invasion, stretching to accommodate Duncan’s girth.

His entire body tingled, and his internal muscles fluttered. “Oh God, you feel so good.” Thomas sighed.

“So do you, love.”

Thomas moaned when Duncan started moving, pulling out before sliding back in. Duncan held him tightly, keeping him from sliding across the surface of the table. He thrust into Thomas with reckless abandon. Thomas whimpered. His body shook, pleasure rushing through his veins so fast he felt dizzy. Over and over again Duncan’s cock pushed into him, stretching
him
and hitting his gland. Thomas wrapped his hand around his shaft.

“Harder. Faster,” Thomas pleaded.

Duncan leaned over him, covering Thomas’s body. He captured his mouth in a frantic kiss as his hips snapped forward.

His orgasm rushed through him. Thomas tried to hold the pleasure at bay, but it was impossible. Before he could say a single word, he came, spraying cum between them. The moment he did, Duncan growled. He pulled out and stroked his cock rapidly and climaxed, spattering creamy cum all over Thomas’s chest.

“I love you, Thomas,” Duncan whispered in his ear.
