Wordless: new adult paranormal romance (Age of Blood Book 1) (11 page)

As it was Saturday, Fay didn’t need to think about school; thankfully, because she would have skipped. Firstly, there was no way she could wobble anywhere without everyone knowing exactly what she’d been up to, but secondly, she had an awful lot of essential things to learn…

She didn’t think anyone could possibly find a reason compelling enough to cajole her into leaving William’s bed – or his shower. Or his bathtub. Details.

Eventually, though, he
did
manage to.

“Come again.”

He shrugged.

“Cece’s downstairs. I’m sure Zeva’s taking good care of her, though.”

Oh, hell.

There was no doubt that Zeva was being absolutely amazing, as usual, but Fay should have been there to greet her.

“Did I miss something?”

She considered a way to explain, and settled for the truth.

“We don’t get along,” she admitted. “I was treated well at Vincent’s, all things considered. Cece wasn’t. She antagonized him at every turn – I didn’t. I guess we never understood each other.”

Fay hadn’t been able to wrap her head around the fact that her cousin wouldn’t stop fighting; why did she yell and try to run, when she knew it only brought her punishments?

Now Fay got her. If she’d suspected there was a world like the one she now lived in somewhere, she would have run, too. Cece had been stronger than her.

“Hey. That’s behind you now. All of you.”

He smiled tentatively, trying to reassure her.

He didn’t – not really. Because now she recalled her old life, she realized what she’d done for the last few hours.

She had had one defense, one thing that prevented everyone from taking too much liberty with her, and she’d given it to William. She wasn’t even regretting it.

But what did it mean for her? What happened now?

“Hey,” William murmured, pulling her to him until she straddled him; instead of initiating sex, as she thought he might, he just hugged her hard. “What’s worrying you, little pixie?”

You
. She should be worried about Cece, and the future, and Adrian, too, but now – it was
him
she feared.

Him, who could break her.

“Tell me. If I need to bribe, amputate, or kill anyone, consider it done.”

That managed to make her smile.

“That’s better. You’re still not getting out of it. I need words, sweetheart. Open your mouth and
talk.

The teasing was working.

“Why haven’t you bitten me?”

That question seemed to puzzle him. Looked at her as though she was being pretty weird – which admittedly, she was – he responded simply, “because you haven’t offered. I thought you wouldn’t want me to.”

Oh
.

“That’s what’s bothering you?” dropping kisses against her neck, and sucking at her skin.

She could feel his fangs against her, teasing moans out of her.

“Speak to me, Fay Turner. There’s something else.”

She nodded, damning her own honesty.

“Well?”

“You’re going to break my heart someday.”

Today, tomorrow, in twenty years. He’d move on at the first wrinkle, at the latest.

Somehow, her impending doom made him laugh out loud.

How the hell was that funny?

“Sorry. I guess in the midst of planning everything I want to do to you – with you – I forgot to inform you. I’ve already filed an application – I guess it needs your signature.”

What the heck was he on about?

“I’m going to marry you. We’ll have a baby – two, perhaps. Then, I’m going to turn you into one of us, so I can keep my little pixie until the next Ragnarok.”

Oh.

Just to emphasis her feelings on the matter, she said it out loud, too.

“Would that be an
ok good
kinda oh, or do I need to be persuasive?” William enquired.

The hug was all well and truly over now; they were back to stroking, nibbling and mhhh… was he parting her ass cheeks?

“Persuade me, please.”

Epilogue

Reality had a way of knocking at the door at the most inopportune time.

Fay was still walking on a little cloud, despite Cece’s terse conversations at breakfast, and Charlotte’s constant teasing; she even ignored Jessica who smugly announced that she’d been the first to guess that William would choose her. Claim her.

She was going to be a vampire. A little while back, that would have completely revolted her; now, she understood they were just individuals – there were good people and assholes. When an asshole was in power, it sucked.

Fay had every intention of being good. Someday, somehow, she’d help William save others like her.

She was walking back from the Academy, the smile that hadn’t disappeared for weeks plastered on her face, when her world took another turn. For the worse, this time.

It had been years – almost sixteen of those – but she recognized her, of course. Partially thanks to her few, blurry recollections, and some pictures scattered in her old home, but mainly because she saw parts of her whenever she looked in the mirror.

Fay might have mostly looked like James Turner, but her eyes and her mouth were Xoe White’s. Her mother’s.

Jessica, the familiar shadow who never left her side, stiffened next to her when she took in the woman walking up from the other side of the street. Fay wondered why. Xoe was hardly threatening, smaller than Fay, and definitely human.

Fay had her reasons for freaking out, though. She was pretty damn sure that that woman was supposed to be dead.

She’d stopped walking, staring as her mother walked up to her.

The woman should be in her forties now; she didn’t look it. Hell, she didn’t seem one day older than Fay.

“What do you want, witch,” Jessica snapped next to her.

Witch.

Fay wasn’t surprised. All at once, she remembered things buried, or more than likely blocked from her mind.

The songs. The dances. The herbs and the spells.

She hadn’t been very good at it, and her mother had seemed exasperated.

“She’s useless,”
she’d heard her say one night, when she was supposed to be asleep.
“She won’t be able to defend herself. When I’m gone, she’s as good as dead.”

Her father had soothed her mother’s cries and said that everything was going to be alright. That he had an idea.

The next day, they were gone. Everyone told her they were dead.

“You can probably take me, but touch this girl, and you’ll wish you were never born.”

Xoe’s dark eyes were full of humor when they looked up towards Jessica. She crocked her head and smiled.

“You think I’m afraid of the Drakes?
Please
.” Then, she turned to Fay. “You’ve done rather well for yourself, haven’t you? An actual Prince at your beck and call.”

Fay felt dizzy; if she’d been that kind of girl, she would have fainted. She managed to keep her expression blank and asked: “What do you want, mother?”

People didn’t reappear after so long without motive.

Xoe handed her a small, luminous ball full of liquid; Fay wasn’t sure she wanted to take it.

“That should take care of the binding spell on your cousin. She’ll just need to take a bath and let it melt.”

Reluctantly, and not without a certain dose of suspicion, she took the ball.

“So, you crawled back from the grave to help Cece out?”

Xoe just shrugged.

“No, I’m here to send your man a message, that’s just a peace offering. Tell the Drakes that whatever’s coming next, the White clan isn’t the enemy.”

She walked in a daze, lost until she’d made it back to the only home she knew.

Fay had heard enough of vampires to know what she'd just learned might destroy what she and William had, yet she couldn't bring herself to hide it.

“I'm a witch.”

The words were out of her mouth as soon as she saw him, in the kitchen.

One of his eyebrows lifted a fraction.

“I take your witch, and I raise you a dragon.”

The End

O positive. Stretched. Worthless. She was worthless.
They said it to her every day until she believed it.
Cece bounced up and down as hard as she could. She knew she wasn't worth the food they gave her on a monthly basis. If she didn't please him, they'd kill her soon.
She didn't want to die, so she rode him like she her life depended on it. It did.
“Good girl,” Vincent cooed, smiling from beneath her, shifting to grab some grapes from his bedside fruit basket.
One by one, he pulled them from the vine and pushed them between her lips. It was cool, refreshing and delicious.
Vincent was the best fuck between those walls. He loved bringing her huge, soul shattering orgasms.
She hated him for it. He made her feel, and what she felt was that she had well and truly turned into a whore. Who else could like that?
Thankfully, he didn't fuck her often. While she was his favorite, according to him, he wasn't very fond of the taste of her blood, which was why Fay was there, behind her, currently licking his balls.
Fay didn't have to fuck because her blood was flagrant. Precious. She wasn't worthless. Vincent barely touched her, for fear of tainting her perfection.
“I'm going to come inside you, Cece dear,” he told her pleasantly. “Fay, come here.”
The girl immediately crawled towards him. She hid it but her eyes showed eagerness. Of course they did. She was given nothing but pleasure.
“Sit on my face.”
She obeyed. Vincent licked her cunt and Cece saw her contracting within minutes. She cried out loud and clear, which meant he'd bitten her. Simultaneously, Vincent’s cock engorged inside her, and he came hard.
She'd been riding him for half an hour, but he only came when Fay gave him her precious blood.
She really was worthless.
“Perfect,” he breathed against the girl’s pussy. “Delicious as always. You can go to bed, Fay.”
The girl hurried off towards her luxurious bedroom upstairs, next to their master’s.
Vincent then smiled down at her, tapping her leg to indicate she should unsheathe his dick from her.
“You haven't come, darling,” he said softly, with an unfairly beautiful smile.
She had no choice but to nod; no point trying to lie, he knew.
“Poor thing. Go downstairs. Tell Antoine, Daniel and Raphael they can take you. Wain will have to watch, today. He's disappointed me.”
Cece woke up crying, trembling, and coming on her fingers.
It hadn't been real. It has just been a nightmare.
Or more accurately, a memory.
She was in New York, now. Safe, or so perfect Fay said. Perfect Fay couldn't possibly be wrong.
Cece hated herself for those feelings, but she couldn't help her jealousy; how could she? Even now they were both free, Fay was better than her; engaged. To a vampire. Happy. With a place, a purpose in this world.
She might not have felt that way if Fay hadn't been her cousin – her family. They looked like fraternal twins, if one could bypass the fact that Fay was a dark brunette and Cece, a pale redhead.
So similar and yet, Fay had been created to thrive, while Cece was nothing.
Knowing there was no point in trying to go back to sleep, she got up. Getting dressed was still difficult for her; clothes felt foreign on her skin, she'd been naked for so long. As it was midday, and everyone, servants included, was asleep, she grabbed her bed sheet, wrapped it around her and walked up, to the rooftop gardens where she’d landed a week ago.
Eventually, she would have to leave. This house wasn't a healthy place for her to be; seeing Fay everyday would only worsen her lack of self-worth.
But she has no money, no job; nothing.
Cece was qualified to do one thing and that was taking cocks.
Liar
.
Ok, ok. She might have done three semester of culinary school, before she'd turned eighteen. The day she'd officially been an adult, she should have high tailed it out of Riverville. Instead, she had a farewell party with her friends. The next day, when she was nursing a hangover, Vincent came for her.
She remembered it all. Stupid as she was… She'd kind of liked him. He was gorgeous, and no one had warned her against him, the way they all seemed to tell her little cousin Fay that he was dangerous. She'd thought it meant that he hadn't been dangerous for her, because her blood wasn't amazing.
No, it had been because no one cared.
Or maybe they hadn't believed he'd go for her. Cece was trying – very hard – to stop blaming and hating the world… But every time she tried to forgive and forget, she remembered what it felt like to have two cocks in the vagina and one in the ass at the same time.
Amazing. It had felt amazing, and she was disgusted at herself for acknowledging that.
The worse were the withdrawal symptoms. Try and have sex twelve hours a night for five years. Disgusting as that was, she was addicted. She was a whore.
Sometimes, like now, her hand was stroking her pussy, and she hadn't consciously chosen to do it.
Fuck.
“It seems I'm interrupting.”
Fuck.
She turned to face a vampire.
Cece froze, first, then she took two steps back.
He was dangerous. For everyone, but her in particular. For one, he was ten, twenty times more stunning than anyone she'd ever met, Fay’s fiancé included. Lean, tanned muscles, that seem shaped for speed; that, and his penetrating ice grey stare, his long, dark wavy hair, oh-so-casually disheveled shot straight through her. She wanted him inside her, releasing his strength as he pounded her with abandon.
But that was what she wanted of everyone, when she felt like that.
“There, let me help.”
She didn't even see him move; suddenly, he was in front of her and on his knees, parting her bed sheet.
His eyes flashed before his mouth found her clit and sucked.
Cece would have loved to pretend she'd told him to fuck off, that she'd screamed that she was a free woman protected by the Drake, the house of the King himself.
But what she did was to thread her fingers through his dark hair, and keep him just there.

Yes. Oh, yes.
“Please,” she heard herself whisper.
The vampire growled against her pussy, before parting her lower lips with three fingers, one of which hit her g-spot almost right away.
Soon, she had another finger in her ass, and he carried on assaulting her clit, teasing it, licking ever-so-softly one instant, and then, sucking, biting it.
She came. Oh god, did she ever come. It was glorious…
But something was missing, making the moment absolutely surreal. And perfect, too.
Even as her orgasm hit, he'd never drawn blood.

Fuck. Fuck. What had that been all about?
Michael was the smart one, contrarily to his brother, he never acted on impulse, yet here he was, sucking off a
human
in his brother’s house.
A free human, who was more than likely under William’s protection. Under his protection.
Fuck. Was it Fay? Has he just made his future sister in law com on his tongue? That was going to make the next few Christmases interesting.
Even as he thought it out, he knew the answer to that. It hadn't been. Fay, as his brother frequently gushed, was an AB neg. This woman had been a lot of things, but certainly not that.
Blood was like alcohol; it was a question of taste. Some people loved Hennessy XO and Champagne, others preferred a good old pint of beer.
Michael was a beer guy all the way. Delicacies like AB neg made him want to retch, and that girl… Damn. Not biting her had taken a lot of willpower.
He forced himself to walk away after making her come, knowing his brother was more than likely going to carve him a new one regardless.
King of all vampires in the continent or not, he was still William Drake’s baby brother.
He locked himself in his room, and tried to catch a few hours of sleep; but as soon as his head hit the pillow, he was picturing a sensual redhead with a designer pussy.
Ah, hell. It couldn't be helped. He grabbed his dick and stroke it up and down until he'd calmed down.
