Still, there was a familiar truth to Torvald’s words.

“And why should I believe you?”

“Why shouldn’t you?” Torvald whispered as his hand slowly glided down Asger’s body. “If I am the man you believe me to be, then why are you still breathing?”

Asger thought about it for a moment, but he was stumped. Silence befell the chamber, but Asger soon thought of a reason why Torvald would want to keep him alive.

“When I awoke. You were naked. Completely naked. It’s been four long years since I seen your hardened cock. It’s been four long years since you felt my tight ass wrapped around it. Maybe you wanted one last taste of royalty before you did me in!”

Torvald laughed at the notion. The two men often shared a bed when Asger’s father’s eyes were somewhere else, but that seemed like another life.

“Do you still think of yourself as royalty?” Torvald asked “You’ve seen firsthand what power can do. What greed can do…”

Asger never truly considered himself a leader. And he certainly never felt as though he was worthy of a crown. But the throne was his birthright. He was never seduced by the same power that corrupted his father, but he never felt as though power was the root of his father’s evil deeds.

“I’ve seen the good and the bad that power can bring.” Asger said sternly “My father ruled with his fist, that much is true, but the king you’ve set your sights on now is not cut from the same cloth. I’ve had two homes in my lifetime, and you’ve taken them both from me. The fact that you turned on my family burns me to my core. At least I can understand your reasoning for stabbing my father in the back. But how can you justify what happened here today?”

Torvald’s continued to glide down Asger’s body. He cupped the prince's balls and gently rolled them around in his fingers. Asger tried to pretend that he wasn’t enjoying it, but he was losing that battle as well.

“Why would I burn a kingdom that I wish to rule?” Torvald moaned as he continued to massage Asger’s neglected sack “Why would I burn two kingdoms that I wish to rule? Do you really believe that I want this? That I want to be the king of ash and smoke?”

Asger tried to come up with a response, but his mind was elsewhere. Whenever he opened his lips, a sultry moan would slip out. His silence allowed Torvald to continue.

“I caught wind of your father’s actions, we all did, and when I tried to stop him, he turned the torch on his own people. Do you believe that his last words were noble? No! His last words were as defiant as his first. If he couldn’t rule his people in this world then he’d march them to the gates of hell. Women. Children. Even his own son.”

Asger finally found his voice.

“Even if that is the truth, how do you explain what you did here today?”

His voice was high-pitched, and he stuttered on every second word. He struggled to find his voice with Torvald’s hand wrapped around his balls, but he was willing to put justice before his own pleasure.

“Your father was in league with every other kingdom in the land. The corruption you seen firsthand has been taking place behind closed doors in the place you now call home. This king, your king, was snatching children in the dead of night and selling them as slaves for a tidy profit. Do you really think that I could stand idly by when such evils exist in this world?

Torvald released Asger’s balls and placed the back of his hand on his cheek. They once shared a bed, but now they were standing on opposite sides. Torvald, when he looked into his former lovers eyes, could see the prince that he lost four years earlier. The same innocence and fear that he remembered was still there. Locked behind a fake resilience.

Asger, fearing that his old lover could be telling him the truth, wanted some proof. In the past, Torvald’s words would be enough, but the last four years have thought him to be less trusting.

“Why should I believe you? How could I ever believe a word that you speak after you…”

Torvald, pained by Asger’s words, interrupted him before he had a chance to finish.

“Jari!” He bellowed as he turned his back on Asger “Bring him to me…”

There was a moment of silence, but the pitter-patter of small feet soon broke the tension. Jari appeared at the door. A young boy was cowering behind his leg. Few could stand his stench, but this boy was clinging to Jari as though his life depended on it.

Jari placed his hand on the back of the boy’s head and pulled him from his leg. The light from a nearby candle illuminated the kid’s face, and it didn’t take long for Asger to recognize him.

It was the boy from the village. The boy that he tried to save before he was captured. When he was knocked to the floor, Asger feared that the child was doomed, but here he was; alive and well. The boy had a chicken bone in one hand. He looked well fed and happy, a stark contrast to the child he seen only hours earlier.

“Thank you, Jari,” Torvald muttered as he ordered the two away “Make sure that they’re all fed. We have a long trek ahead of us.”

Jari, who normally acted as though he was a court jester, picked the boy up without any resistance and made a sharp exit.

Asger’s first thought was that it might be a trick, but he couldn’t think of a reason why Torvald would want to deceive him.

“Did you truly not know of what was going on here?” He asked as he picked up a key from a nearby table and made his way back towards Asger.

Asger shook his head from side-to-side without uttering a word. As each second passed, he began to realize that Torvald was speaking only truth. He didn’t come to the village with thoughts of plunder. He wasn’t the one to set the fire. He was the one that put it out.

Torvald freed Asger from his chains. The former prince fell to his knees and rubbed his sore wrists.

“Why are you freeing me?” He whispered.

Torvald helped Asger to his feet and marched him towards the bed in the corner.

“When I confronted your father, he told me that you had fled the city with revenge in your heart. We never found your body, so we believed his words to be true. When you were captured, with that boy in your arms, some of the men believed that you might have been a spy. Put amongst the people by the king to earn their trust.”

Asger sat on the edge of the bed as he contemplated Torvald’s words. There were countless questions swirling around in his head, but there was only one that he could think to ask.

“Some of the men?” Asger asked.

Torvald nodded his head as he brushed his hands against the raw skin on Asger’s wrists.

“And you… did you believe it too?” He asked.

Torvald was silent for a moment. He thought over his words carefully. He thought that the Asger he knew four years ago was gone forever, but here he was sitting on his bed. He considered lying to him to spare his feelings, but he knew that his former lover would see through his words if they were untrue.

“When you first left, I didn’t take what your father said to be true. I thought he was posturing. The defiant words of a dying man. But, as time went by, my memories of our time together started to fade, and I was left with only your father’s words.”

Torvald’s robe opened ever so slightly. His soft cock was resting against his powerful thigh. It immediately caught Asger’s attention, and it brought back a lot of fond memories, but he couldn’t pay it the attention it deserved without first hearing Torvald’s answer.

“So yes… when you were first brought to me I looked at you as though you were a prince that swore revenge… not the man that shared my bed.”

The two were silent for a moment. Asger had lived a life of lies for 4 long years. At first he was unsure if was telling the truth when he told him of the king he called his own, but now he had no doubt that the man he once cared for so deeply was telling him the truth.

“And what will come of me now?” Asger asked.

He felt as though he could be nearing his last moment. Torvald might believe his words, but Jari and the other’s wouldn’t be so trusting. Not long ago, they considered Asger to be their enemy. None of them knew the truth about Torvald and Asger, and without that vital piece of information they would loath to believe that the former prince was deserving of their trust.

“Your men will never trust me,” Asger continued “and they won’t follow you if you show me any mercy….”

Torvald knew where he was going with his speech, but he had no intentions of harming an innocent man; even if he was of royal blood.

“There is no glory in needless sacrifice,” Torvald muttered as he wrapped his muscular arm around Asger’s shoulder “I’ve led these men for four years. They’ve trusted me with their lives every day since we left your father’s kingdom, and they’ll trust my judgment again.”

Asger felt safe in his powerful arms. He wished to repay his kindness, but he had nothing to offer him accept his body, and, with Jari nearby, he didn’t want to presume that Torvald would want his ass or his mouth with his men still within earshot.

“These last 4 years I’ve been working as a blacksmith…”

Torvald smiled from ear-to-ear at the mere thought of it.

“What is it?” Asger asked.

“I just can’t imagine you working with your hands!” Torvald muttered as he continued to rub Asger’s tender skin.

“Much can change in four years,” He replied “and I don’t expect any special treatment from you or your men. I can pull my own weight, and, wherever your quest takes you next, I can ensure that you and your men have the finest weaponry in all the land.”

Torvald continued to smile. He missed these moments alone. Over the last four years, his fond memories of Asger have been replaced by the words of a dying man. In his mind, he replaced Asger’s loyalty with treachery, and his honesty with deceit. Now that they have found each other again, Torvald was keen to banish all of those false memories that have plagued him since they first lost sight of each other.

Asger too had filled his head with lies, but the truth was poking through Torvald’s robe and staring him right in the face. He’s been so careful to protect his identity that he hasn’t allowed anyone to get close to him, and he’s spent these last four years alone.

Earlier, when Torvald wrapped his massive hand around his balls, he felt another man’s touch for the first time in years. But that was merely a taste, and he wanted more. He brushed Torvald’s hand away as he moved towards Torvald’s cock, but his former lover leapt from his seat when he heard the door creep open.

“Jari!” Torvald bellowed as he marched towards the door “I thought I told you to make sure that everyone was fed?”

Jari’s cocksure smile, the one that was on full display when Asger was in chains, was replaced by a sly look of fear.

“I… I… I just came to tell you that everyone’s been fed, and to bring you a meal of your own.”

Torvald held his tongue. He took a couple of deep breaths before placing a calm hand on Jari’s shoulder.

“I’m sorry, brother,” He whispered as he took the plate from Jari’s hands “It’s been a long day.”

Jari nodded his head and took a step forward. He glanced over his leader's shoulder towards the bed and pressed his lips against Torvald’s ear.

“What shall we do with him?” Jari whispered.

Torvald glanced back towards Asger for a moment and smiled. Before turning back towards Jari and offering him a reassuring smile.

“Don’t worry, Jari,” He muttered “we’ll deal with all of that tomorrow.”

Jari nodded his head and turned around. He stepped out into the hallway and Torvald immediately closed the door behind him.

Earlier, Asger believed that Jari was the same, impetuous squire that had once served his father. But here, under Torvald’s guidance, he seemed like a different man entirely.

“You have quite the effect on him…” Asger whispered as Torvald placed the plate of mutton on a nearby table.

Torvald walked back towards Asger, with his flaccid cock dangling between his legs, and stopped right in front of his face. There were a dozen compliments and superlatives that he could offer Torvald for the way he was leading his men, but the first words from his lips were of warning.

The anger he showed to Jari when he first interrupted them was all too familiar. Some men think that it’s the crown that corrupts a man, but it’s power that can turn his soul black.

“The way you spoke to Jari when he first entered the room… it reminded me of a man I’d rather forget.”

Torvald nodded his head. He alone was entrusted with the safety of an entire people, and that burden wasn’t always easy to carry.

“I know… “Torvald replied “I sometimes catch myself in moments of weakness…”

Asger, eager to reassure the man that he shared so much with, placed his hand on Torvald’s thigh. He massaged his leg for a moment, but soon the sight of Torvald’s expanding cock caught his attention.

He watched on as it continued to grow. And by the time it reached its full 8 inches he was licking his lips. Memories of Torvald have been fussy throughout the years, but his cock was just as he remembered. A thick, throbbing vein ran along the top. His cock twitched from side-to-side with excitement, and a sliver of pre-cum oozed from the tip.

Many years have passed since they last enjoyed each other’s bodies, and Asger was unsure if Torvald would welcome his touch, but he couldn’t stop himself from grabbing hold of his cock.
