He reaches out and grabs my wrist. His grip is surprisingly strong and I can’t pull away. “I don’t need to go to the hospital,” he says. “This isn’t even my blood.”

I stare at him, not even comprehending. What does he mean it’s not his blood?

“Then whose blood is it?”

“It’s Becca’s,” he says, his eyes wide and crazy. “I killed her,” he whispers. “I killed Becca.”

“What the hell are you talk – ”

“I had to do it.”

My heart is pounding and I feel sick to my stomach. “Shut up, Aidan.”

“I had to do it, Cam. I killed her to protect you.”
