Chapter 5

“So, you’re okay with this, huh?” He asked, sizing her up.

“With what?” She asked, and he just chuckled.

“Everything. The bears. Your stepbrother.” He said, and she just gave him a stern look.

“Oh. Sore spot.” He said, but she just sighed.

“A little I guess. I mean. It’s not my fault our parents married.” She grumbled, and he chuckled.

“It’s not an issue here. No one really cares.” Cole said, shrugging. She didn’t say anything at all. Her mind was on Alex and what he might be doing, but she refused to say anything else. She had no idea what to say until she saw people starting to clean up.

“So does everyone leave?” She asked, and he gave her a confused look.

“Didn’t he explain?” Cole asked her, and she shrugged.

“A little, I guess.” She mumbled.

“They’re cleaning. A lot live out here. Others go home. Many go back to the caves, which is where most of us call home, but we usually stay for at least the weekend. They’re going to start cooking soon.” Cole explained to her.

“And Alex is like a leader or something?” She asked, and Cole nodded his agreement.

“Yes, but Alpha actually. The leader of the pack so to speak. I’m the omega. Second in command as long as he wills it.” He said, and she just tried to take it all in.

“So what does that make me?” She thought out loud, and he chuckled.

“Right now? Nothing. Tonight? Everything.” It was all he had said before Cole bid her a quick goodbye, tearing off into the woods the same way Alex had done. She just sat down before a girl smiled at her, tossing her an apple.

“You can always come over here.” The woman called, and she could tell that she was a little bit older. She had a crinkle around her eyes, but the woman’s smile was kind. She decided to go over, trying to put Cole’s words from her mind until she could ask Alex later. Later. She reminded herself.

“We’re about to cook something.” The woman said, handing her a potato peeler and a bowl. She got to work.

“My name is Evelyn.” The woman introduced herself.

“Carla.” She said nervously.

“We know.” Evelyn said with a knowing but kind smile. Carla added that to her list of questions, but for now all she did was start to peel. There was a comfort in that silence that she didn’t expect.

Chapter 6

It wasn’t until late when Alex got back, and she tried to look away when she saw the dried blood on him. She wanted to ask, but Carla told herself that she didn’t want to know. She just looked back at the soup that was now almost done, and everyone was laughing as they lit the fires. It was like no one saw the blood covering the two that had just returned.

“It’s great to see you again.” She said, but Alex saw her looking at the dried blood.

“They’re not dead.” He said, growling it.

“I’m. I’m glad to hear that.” She said, apparently confused why he was angry. Alex let out a small sigh before taking her hands in his.

“It’ll be okay.” He said, and that’s when everyone sat down to get a bite to eat. Bowls were passed around, and the fires were starting to fill around the edges where people sat to talk and laugh together. Everyone seemed content as if it was just another day for them all, even when Carla’s was turned upside down.

“I was worried about you.” She said softly, and she noticed Alex’s eyes soften.

“That’s sweet of you, Carla.” He said, taking a bite.

“Did you help make this?” He asked, and when she nodded his grin widened.

“You’re fitting in well.” He said with that hint of pride and approval in his voice that she hadn’t heard for a long time.

“I hope it tastes alright.” She said, and he laughed.

“Your food is always delicious.” He said, and Carla scooted a little closer to him and closer to the fire as well.

“Cool again already?” He asked, and she nodded.

“So what’s going on tonight?” She finally blurted out.

“Who told you and what did they say?” He growled, and she tried to brush over the question as her eyes widened.

“I just heard it.” She blurted out, and he took another bite, grunting. She knew he didn’t believe her, but he also seemed to recognize that he was overreacting at least a little bit.

“It’s just an initiation if you allow it.” He said, and she just waited.

“Initiation?” She prompted after a minute, realizing that he wasn’t going to say anything. She kept pushing the food in her bowl around.

“Eat, Carla.” He sighed, and she knew a command when she heard it. For some reason, it made her stomach clench, and she could feel herself getting wet. She took a bite, waiting for his explanation.

“It’s where I claim you in front of everyone.” He said, and his hand was on her thigh, starting to caress her leg through her jeans.

“Claim me?” She inquired, and he just shook his head.

“You have to trust me, or this isn’t going to work.” He said, and she sighed.

“Fine.” She said, starting to eat, and he seemed satisfied with herself.

“It’s very soon.” He said, and she nodded, groaning a little internally, but she wouldn’t say anything other than that. Evelyn gave her that knowing smile again from across the fireplace, and she just tried to smile back. She didn’t know why, but there was a part of her that liked the older woman.

“I see you’ve met Evelyn.” He said, and she looked at him.

“She showed me how to make the soup.” She said, and he smiled softly.

“She’s an elder of the pack. A kind woman, and a good friend for you. She’ll be more than happy to help teach you our ways after tonight.” He said, finishing his bowl as he pushed it to the side, and the drums started up again. They seemed to sync with her heart, and she could see Alex start to relax as well with the hypnotic sound filling the air. It was like her worries disappeared, and once more the clearing seemed to be bathed in moonlight.

“It’s beautiful, isn’t it? How primal it is?” He asked, and she didn’t have to think before answering yes.

She put her now empty bowl aside as well, watching the fire as she drew her knees up to her chest. He held her to him as they relaxed, but people kept glancing at her anxiously as if something were about to happen. She could feel it too. There was anticipation in the air, but she knew that she wouldn’t get anything more from Alex on the matter.

They sat there in the silence for a few moments before he just turned to look at her. He took her hand in his, caressing her wrist with his thumb. He brought her hand up to kiss the back of it before kissing down her wrists and to her inner elbow. She didn’t know why but it was like everywhere his lips touched she could feel herself growing wet, and desire burned through her.

“You want me. Say it.” He whispered, and she could feel the eyes on her. Carla let her own eyes flutter closed, trying to ignore the staring.

“Yes.” She let herself say breathlessly, and he pulled away, standing up. When she opened her eyes, his hand was extended towards her.

“Then I suppose. Let’s do this. Let me show you how you can be mine. How you can be a part of this.” He said, gesturing to the pack. She saw smiling faces, but she tried to ignore it either way. She was led to the middle of the ring of bonfires, and she looked at him. He kissed her again, kissing down her neck.

“What are we doing?” She asked, and he looked at her sternly.

“You’re submitting to your Alpha.” He said, starting to drag his fingers down her neck before stepping away.

“W-what?” She asked, stuttering.

“You promised to listen.” He said, and she bit her bottom lip.

“Now strip. Pretend it’s just us here.” He said, running his hands down her sides.

“Okay…” She whispered as she closed her eyes, trying to concentrate on only his voice as she started to pull her shirt over her head.

Her bra slid down her arms, and soon her pants joined everything on the ground. He moved around her, almost circling her as he grabbed her ass. His hand started to grab her hip, rubbing into it as she moaned. She squeezed her thighs closer together, trying to keep her eyes closed, and Alex didn’t mind. His hand wandered further to between her legs, parting her pussy lips as his finger started to circle her clit. She gasped as he rubbed slowly, in small sensual circles.

“That’s right.” He whispered. “Are you wet for me? Are you wet for your stepbrother?” He teased her, but she could feel her wetness start to drip down her thighs at his words.

The drums continued to sound in her ears, pounding in time with her heart. Her desired boiled to the surface, and when she opened her eyes, all she could see was firelight and shadows as he teased her clit. His fingers ran up and down her slit, pulling her pussy lips apart before he pulled his hand away. She had groaned at the absence before he leaned in to whisper into her ear. His hand went to her breast, tugging and pulling at her hardened nipple.

“I’m going to pull away, and you’re going to get on your hands and knees like a good girl.” He said, and her eyes widened, but just as she was about to protest he tweaked her nipple again, causing her to moan loudly.

With that, he pulled his hand away. She stood there for a moment before she heard Alex growl behind her, and she found herself on her hands and knees. Shivering, she looked down, but she could feel him as he kneeled behind her. His cock was out before she knew it, rubbing up and down her slit for the second time that day. She tried to push back against it, but he held her firmly in place.

“Uh-uh.” He teased her, continuing to rub it up and down her slit. It slid between her ass cheeks and back between her pussy lips all the way to nudge her clit with the head of his cock. She couldn’t help but to jump, groaning in anticipation. Without any warning, he pulled back only to thrust fully into her wet, warm pussy as she clenched around him.

“God. You’re so tight.” He said, starting to rut in and out of her, and she tried to push back against him. She couldn’t help but to groan as his hands clenched around her hips, holding her still.

“Please.” She whimpered, but a growl was her only response.

“Give yourself to me.” He growled, and he leaned over her, rutting deeper, quicker. She tried to relax, but she could feel her pussy spasming around him.

“Please.” She whimpered, and his grip loosened enough for her to grind back against him.

She started to clench and unclench around him, and she could feel herself starting to climb closer to the edge again. She tried to ignore the laughter and the naked bodies around her. Only concentrating on him as he began to slow, dragging out her orgasm just as she went over the edge, screaming his name.

“Mine.” He growled, and with each thrust she could feel her breasts swinging below her.

Her hard nipples begged to be touched as she arched back, pushing further against him. He pulled in and out with each thrust before she felt him start to throb inside of her, jerking a little as he started to come.

She could feel his hot come fill her as she closed her eyes, and he panted above her. He pulled her up so that she was on her knees instead of all fours, and his hand went to tug and pull on her hardened nipples. He kissed her neck, and she moaned as his cock started to soften inside of her. He slowly pulled out of her, and then he got up, helping her to her feet.

She could feel people staring at her, but as she looked around, everyone seemed too preoccupied with themselves. Some were getting sucked off, some were just eating, but many of them were together. Tangled in each other’s bodies just as she had been with Alex, and that made her blush more than their eyes on her own naked body had. She didn’t know why, but just seeing it made her mouth feel dry, and she could feel herself starting to get wet all over again as his come started to leak down her inner thighs. She bit her bottom lip, looking at him.

“We can go again soon.” He teased.

“But you look tired for now.” He said, and he pulled her to him as they nestled under the same tree as before with the fire roaring to life in front of them. Someone came over with a cup of water, and she recognized Evelyn’s smiling face. She gladly took a sip of water before sleep finally overtook her.

Chapter 7

She woke up again with her stomach growling, but this time she couldn’t find Alex anywhere. She got up, trying to cover her nakedness before she saw that no one seemed to care. Slowly, she started to move her hands away, and Evelyn seemed to appear out of nowhere. She smiled.

“Sleep well?” She asked, and Carla nodded.

“I didn’t think I’d ever sleep this good outside.” She said, shaking her head in amusement. Evelyn laughed with her, but it was a kind laugh.

“I see you’re getting a little more comfortable. That’s good.” She said before placing a warm cup of a sweet smelling tea in front of her.

“What’s this?” She asked, and Evelyn just arched an eyebrow at her.

“It’s something to make sure we don’t have any more little bears running around just yet. I don’t think you’re ready for that.” She said, and Carla’s eyes widened.

“What? I didn’t…” She said, biting her bottom lip as she took a sip.

“Young people.” Evelyn said, laughing a little. “I guess that’s why I’m here.” She said, and Carla finished drinking it quickly.

“Thank you.” She said, and Evelyn just smiled at her. Carla was starting to wonder if that smile ever dropped from her face.

“How about I take you to the river?” She asked, and Carla nodded as they walked in silence.

“So, what do you think of this all? Your father retired, and you look a lot like your mother.” She said, looking up and down.

“Like father like son. They go after similar women.” She said, and Carla nodded a little lost in her thoughts.

They finally got to the river, and they both waded in. She watched as Evelyn sat on the rocks, and she started to wash off. The dried come on her thighs reminded her of the night before, and she could still feel her own soreness. She closed her eyes, biting her lip.

“Finally giving into the passion, eh?” Cole said, laughing as he startled both Evelyn and her. She just gave him a look.

“Do you know where Alex is?” She asked, trying to ignore his staring eyes. They said everything yesterday. She reminded herself, but it didn’t help the embarrassment. I’ll have to get over it. She thought, trying to focus on Cole’s answer.

“He’s been dealing with people at the caves. There was a small collapse, but no one was inside.” He said, shrugging a little.

“Caves are where you guys live?” She asked, and Cole gave her that look.

“I thought I told you this already, but I guess you have a lot on your mind.”

“Fine, fine.” She said.

“We’re all moving out soon. I’ll take her.” Cole said, turning to Evelyn. Evelyn just shrugged.

“You’re going to let me go off with him?” She asked, bewildered.

“He’s not dangerous. Just annoying.” Evelyn said with a mischievous look in her eyes. She started to wade out of the water, but Evelyn just relaxed a little. They started to walk off together in silence that she never thought would be comfortable, but soon it was. She looked around, and he helped her over the brambles, slowly helping to avoid branches. It was only when her feet started to ache that she looked at him.

“When are we going to get there?” She asked, clearly irritated. It was that smug look he had every time that she almost ran into something that was starting to infuriate her.

“What do you mean? I thought we were having a nice walk in the woods?” He asked innocently, and she shoved him a little. He laughed, not budging an inch.

“No? Not a nice walk?” He said, and she groaned.

“Why are you doing this?” She said, and he just shook his head.

“To give him the time that he asked for.” With that, they veered to the left, and his hand on the middle of her back guided her. That’s when she saw caves in the distance with Alex looking at them, tapping his foot almost impatiently. Just as she got near Alex, Cole grabbed her ass, causing her to jump and for Alex to growl.

“Watch it.” He said, and Cole just laughed before moving away. Alex softened when his eyes landed on hers.

“Sorry, but I needed to buy time, and Cole’s actually pretty good for that.” He said, and she shrugged.

“At least he’s good for something.” She mumbled. He just shook his head.

“He is pretty grabby.” He said as he picked up one of the lanterns, leading her into the caves. She went with him, but her hand gripped his arm a little tightly as her heart started to pound. He seemed so steady. So strong, and it was the only thing that allowed her to walk into the dark with him.
