Jennifer took a deep breath as she went through another contraction. “Where are the drugs you promised?”

Max laug
hed, and she kind wanted to kill him right now. “I will give them to you when Megan gets into the room.” Just then her bedroom door opened, she saw Megan and Phoenix walk in.

Phoenix looke
d at her, and smiled. “Jennifer,” he whispered.

“Let me get some drugs in her or she won't like you very much. She has called me almost every
name in the book.” Max chuckled, and she glared at him. He threw his hands up. He had her arch her back and Phoenix held her shoulders down.

As soon as he did she felt amazing. She smiled at him, and he winked
. “I will be right out there if you need me.” She nodded, Megan and Max walked out together.

She looked
down at her hands, and Phoenix sat on the bed next to her. “Jennifer when you left, I felt something break inside of me. I didn’t understand what it was until I got a call from Max's phone and I thought you were hurt. Melissa means nothing to me, a kiss for an incubus means--”

“I kno
w Phoenix, Max told me.” He nodded, and smiled.

“Well
, you told me to love you and you would stay. I am a chicken shit. I love you Jennifer, and I don't want to ever see you walk out on me again.” He took her left hand and she could feel tears falling on to her cheeks. She felt cold metal being put on her finger. She looked down at what he was doing. He was putting a beautiful antique ring on her finger. The center diamond was the size of her pinky nail and there were about twenty smaller diamonds around it and down the side of the band.

She looked
up at him, and he was smiling. “Oh Phoenix.” She choked on her words.

He brought
her left hand to his lips and kissed it. “Jennifer Elizabeth Cruz, I want to spend my forever with you. You are my everything. Will you marry me?”

She nodded, “Yes, yes and yes!” She wrapped
her arms around his neck and kissed him. She felt whole again. “This ring is beautiful!” She held it up for her to look.

“I'm glad you like it, it was my grandmother's. She would have l
oved you, like I do.” His smiled warmed her.

Jennifer put
her hand over her heart. “Thank you.”

Phoenix shook
his head. “No, my darling angel. Thank you for loving me, and giving me this second chance.”

Someone cleared their throat, and he took
his wonderful lips away from hers. “Sorry, but it's time to start pushing.”

Phoenix smiled down at his sleeping fiancé. He was so happy that she took him back. His grandmother's ring looked like it was made for her, and he loved that. He quietly walked out of her bedroom and then down the hall where his son and daughter were sleeping. He told Max to take them in there so Jennifer could get some sleep. She pushed for 8 hours before they made their appearance into the world.

“Oh Phoenix, your babies are so beautiful.” Megan
said, as he walked in.

“Good thing they look like their momma.” He
walked over to his babies.

Their eyes were
open. “My beautiful Eve, and my handsome Evan,” he said as he touched their foreheads.
