Lucien's Hell Bound Angel (Hell Bound Series) (4 page)

He didn’t have time to debate with her, so he took charge. Releasing his grip on her, he pushed her behind him, making her fall flat on her ass
again. Without hesitating, he ran at the men.

“Get him boys.”
Vulcan smiled standing firm as his team of four flew passed him yelling. Two crashed into Lucien as the other two went for “Violet”.

Catching one b
y the throat, Lucien easily crushed his trachea and watched him crumble to the ground. The second warrior pulled out a gun, but Lucien caught his arm before he got good aim and broke his fingers. Screaming in pain, the warrior dropped his weapon to the ground. Grabbing the knife from his waist band, he plunged it into Lucien’s side. Groaning in agony and irritation, Lucien grabbed knife and yanked it out. In the next instant, the knife was plunged into the warrior’s heart.

“You’ve been butchering a lot of my soldiers.”
Vulcan tsked staring at “Violet”.

His two Hench men were lying face down in their own blood beside her. She’d taken them out with ease, but
Vulcan took her by surprise. He was now towering over her with a foot on her throat.

“Yeah well…” she struggled to talk as he pushed harder. “You’re next.”

Vulcan just chuckled at what he thought was a pure lack of common sense.

“I beg to differ with you lying down there.” He said igniting a fire
ball in his bare hands. He tossed it up in the air gently, and then caught it.

“I could burn that pretty little face of yours off.” He smiled sinisterly
as “Violet” exhaled. She obviously knew she was helpless and out of options.

“Where’s your manners?!” Lucien ground out as he stabbed
Vulcan in the back.

Screeching out in agony
as the blade scraped his spine; Vulcan flung Lucien back, only to vanish in the next instant. Landing in the dirt, Lucien moaned as pain from the impact swallowed him. This night just couldn’t get any worse. He’d hadn’t even been on Earth for three hours and demons were coming out of the wood work. Laying his head back in the dirt, he sighed, the twinge in his side was still there, reminding him that his vital organs had been sliced open. Suddenly there was a shadow engulfing him. Opening his eyes, he saw “Violet” standing there with a gun aimed at him.

But there was uncertainty in her eyes.

“Why’d you do that?” she pushed, staring into his eyes to see if he would lie.

Ignoring her, he rolled to the side to get up but she kicked him back flat on his back in the dirt. Cocking the gun this time, she asked,

“Why’d you save me?!
You're one of them. If Dezmon thinks he can ruse me—”

“I don’t work for Dezmon.” He snapped, obviously not liking his
circumstances.

“Right, I’m supposed to believe
you
.” She said sarcastically.

“Look, kill me. I don’t care.
All I did was save your life.” he replied sitting up slowly, and she kept the gun aimed at him.

Staring at him, she couldn’t tell if he was being genuine or playing her for a fool. He hadn’t made a move on her yet and she wasn’t gonna let him. Letting her guard down was a big no
no and she was sticking to her guns. Too many of her kind had fallen at the hands of his kind and she wouldn’t be next.

“Is it ok if I get up from down here?” he asked sarcastically.

“No. Not until you tell me the truth.”

“What truth?”
he spat rolling his eyes.

“Who are you? And why’d you stop me from killing Dezmon?” she demanded, her
gaze darting to Hazel’s body for a mere second and he noticed.

Lucien cringed at the sound of Dezmon’s name, and she took note, but all it did was confuse her more.

“Name’s Lucien, and as you know I’m a demon.” He said falling silent.

Cocking an eyebrow at h
im, she heaved a puzzled sigh.

“That’s not what I asked.”

“You didn’t just ask me who I was?” he asked looking at her like she was crazy.

“I—you—stop that!” she screeched.

“Stop what?’ he replied as a smile teased his.

Smiling like that made his cold hard appearance almost seem boyish. She exhaled as she felt the blood rush through her. Shaking off the thought, she
pressed on through his manipulation.

You didn’t answer my second question.” She snapped.

“And I’m not going to.” He said making it abundantly clear.

“Then I should just shoot you right here.” She sneered as he looked at the barrel of the gun.

“But you won’t.” he said as a matter of
factly.

“What makes you so sure?” she growled, apparently annoyed at his self-assurance.

“I’m sensing that you have a little thing called morals.”

“Morals don’t really apply on
things
like you.” She ground out, and he shot to his feet furiously and he almost got a bullet for his vast movement.

Bawling his fist at his side, he stared into her violet eyes. Rage filled his and she saw that she’d struck a nerve. For some reason he seemed to take offense every time she insulted the demon race. Wasn’t like a demon to care, they usually gleamed at the harsh words thrown their way.

“I’m not a
thing
.” He said through clenched teeth.

He’d gone through centuries of bashing and there was no way he was gonna stand for it right now. Glaring at her intently, he swallowed his fury and studied her instead.
She was the exact replica of the girl he’d constantly dreamed of as of late and that was eerie to say the least. He had to find out who or what she was.

“What are
you looking at?” she snapped.

She didn’t like him ogling her. Demons were such a vile species, always thinking of their lower desires and bloodlust. Scoffing, she noticed him clutch his side. He was in no shape to fight her even if he wanted to. It was obvious that he was weak and bleeding out.

“The gun.” He lied swallowing hard.

That only made her grip the
weapon even tighter, not that it mattered. An instant later, Lucien had swept her leg out from underneath her and she’d fallen to the damn ground again. This guy was definitely gonna get a beaten at her hands. In the next instant, a spark of light flashed and there was a tremendous bang to follow. “Violet” stayed flat on her back and watched what unfolded in front of her. Lucien grunted in pain as he grabbed the soldier in front of him. Snapping the guy’s neck, Lucien watched him crumble to the ground, and then in turn, Lucien himself fell to his knees.

He’d been shot dead center in the chest.

Scrambling up, “Violet” couldn’t believe what’d just happened. Why would he risk his own life to save hers? If this was to rouse her, the son of a bitch sure did his job. If she needed proof before, she’d damn sure had it now that he wasn’t trying to harm her.

Right?

She wasn’t so sure right now. Her stubborn nature wasn’t about to be thrown out of the window for some random stranger. He after all was still an evil entity—a demon none the less. A demon bleeding…red blood?

What the hell?!

Demons bled black…and even though the blood wasn’t the right shade of red, it was still crimson none the less. Rushing to his side as he fell forward, she caught him in her arms. His blood smeared all over her outfit, but that wasn’t her main concern at the moment. There was no way she could let him die. She couldn’t take two people dying in her arms in one night, in less than half an hour none the less.

Lucien coughed up blood as his world went black again. Boy was he sick of diving into the oblivion. Maybe this was it this time though…maybe he’d finally kicked the bucket and would be permanently erased from time.

Nothing could be worse than Hell right?

                                          Chapter Four

Bring Me to Life

Delilah sat on the hood of her car, hoping Lucien would return. He did after all snatch her keys and leave her stranded. Being so intoxicated with the thought of him
, she waited. The diner had closed about a half an hour ago and rather than calling a friend or hitching a ride, she waited. The mere thought of being taken by Lucien was enough to keep her planted in that very spot for however long it took.

“He’ll be back.” She mumbled
with a smile, sighing as a love struck school girl would.

There was no doubt that she would be
a willing to please fool. So many fantasies rolled in her mind that she couldn’t wait to be tangled in his arms. There was suddenly a rustle in the woods and she glanced over to see utter darkness. The street lights in the parking lot were nearly all broken and the only ones lit were dim. Fog was shadowing the woods, but that didn’t faze her in the least. Being born in a small wooded town and growing up camping had given her many advantages. Fear was the last thing on her mind.

Hearing the rustle again, she hopped up and kept her gaze towards the trees.

“Lucien?” she called, but there was no answer.

Tipping closer, she heard the rustle again only to stop.

“Hello?!” she shouted again.

And again there was silence. Her curiosity got the best of her and she moved over to the side of the diner. Walking over a bit more, she kneeled and saw the shrubs twist and crackle again. Stopping, she held her breath and screeched as something darted from the bushes. To he
r surprise, it was just a raccoon. Sighing, she chuckled before standing. Turning to head back to her car, she bumped into a dark hooded figure. Screaming, Vulcan caught her by the throat to stop the dreaded noise.

“Always curious, I don’t get your species. Yet you're supposed to be more
divine
than us?” he sneered disgusted.

Delilah gagged as he compressed her windpipe. Looking down at her, her tears fell as if to plead for her life. Looking into her eyes, he felt no pity. He needed her to regain his strength. Lowering her, and pullin
g her closer to him, he sank his unforgiving fangs into her throat, tearing through her jugular. Blood splattered far and wide mercilessly, and her screams deteriorated to a whimper as he continued to bleed her dry. As her body went limp, he released her only for her body to drop to the ground.

Sighing in heady pleasure, he let her blood rejuvenate him. He felt so a
live. Opening his eyes, they were now a glimmering blood red shade as he took a deep breath. After a moment, his eyes returned to the Earthy brown that his human form allowed. Looking down at the human, he knelt to her withering body.

“You may be of some use after all.” He mused as he pulled out a blade and slit his forearm. Pushing it to her mouth, he told her to “drink.”

A
thena’s violet glare never left Lucien’s muscles as they rippled every time he heaved a breath. Nibbling her bottom lip, she prayed for what must’ve been the umpteenth time for Lucien to heal. Praying for a demon had to be one of the dumbest things to do, but it was all she knew. Had she had the ability to heal like some of the others, she would have put those powers to good use. But all she had were her hands to do what she could. Hoping he would heal.

And heal he had.

Slowly his wounds and skin had woven back together as if nothing had ever happened.
Proving that he was in fact an other worldly being just like her. Athena hadn’t slept a wink until she knew he would make it through the night. From cleaning his wounds, to bandaging him up, she’d done everything in her power to make him…comfortable. But now, he slept like the dead and in her home none the less. She’d given up her bed to him as she sat by waiting for him to open his eyes.

While she waited, her mind couldn’t help but wander over his body. Fantasies played out on repeat as shame washed over her. The moment she touched him, she felt her body flush and passion? Swallow her. Oh yeah, she felt ashamed. No angel in their right mind would feel anything but discord for a demon.
But he was somehow different.
