Keys To Her Heart (Brookfield) (11 page)

She pushed him on to his back then began exploring his fit body with her mouth. Her tongue circled one of his small nipples. His breath caught. Her fingers tangled in the patch of hair above his waistband. Lily was ready to see what he kept inside. From the bulge in his jeans, she was pretty sure she’d be pleasantly surprised.

She started to unbutton his pants, when his hand caught hers.

“Wait.”

Oh God, he wasn’t about to try and stop this again, was he? “I can’t.”

“It’s just that it’s been a while, and I need to keep the touching to a minimum on my end, but,” he sat up and firmly pushed her so she was on her back, “I am ready to do my own touching.”

Cody took hold of her jeans, unbuttoning them then looped his fingers into the waistband, making sure to catch her panties as well. With a hard tug, he had them off her body and tossed across his bedroom.

“You’re beautiful,” he whispered into her neck.

She gasped when his finger met her wet center. He slid right through her folds, parting her lips. Wow, was all she could think. How different it was to have someone touch her other than herself. He circled her clit, making her want more. Lily was glad he’d read her body language so well as he inserted a finger into her opening.

“You’re so tight.”

“I heard if you don’t use it, you become a virgin again.”

He chuckled softly, but she quieted him with her lips. As her tongue thrust into his mouth, his finger delved deeper into her. She wasn’t going to last long. The slow movement was bringing her to the edge quicker than she’d intended.

She wiggled her lower half, hoping he’d get the hint to stop, but instead he picked up the pace. She grabbed his hand, to try and stop him, but that resulted in his thumb touching her clit.

“Oh, God!” She arched her body. Every nerve was on edge and there was no way she could hold back. Release was coming.

His thumb flicked her clit gently, and his finger drove deeper. Lily closed her eyes, thrusting along with him as her body enjoyed each and every moment of the orgasm. As the powerful release tore through her, she grabbed hold of the comforter, practically clawing a hole into it.

“Oh, my!” she cried out.

It had been so long, way too long. As her body relaxed against the bed, she stared up under heavy lashes at Cody. It was his turn. Reaching behind her back, she unclasped her bra, tossing it away. She then scooted up the bed and opened her legs wide, letting him see the swollen and over sensitive pussy.

Cody groaned and pulled at his own pants, kicking them off along with his boxers. His erection was so hard, she wondered if it was painful. She needed to touch.

He grabbed a condom from his nightstand then climbed up the bed. Sitting on his knees, he held his cock in his hand and the condom in the other.

“Let me.” She held her hand out and took the condom.

As she tore it open, she gazed at his size. He was long and thick with a slight curve to his shaft. She couldn’t wait to feel him stretch her, and she had a good feeling he was given a gift with that cock. He’d hit the g-spot in no time.

After opening the package, she slid the condom over his dick, finally being able to touch its hardness. The veins bulged along the shaft. His release would be quick, and judging by how wet she was below, she was positive she’d come with him.

Cody stared into her eyes as he positioned himself at her entrance. He toyed with his cock, sliding it through her damp folds. She ached for him to enter her. Needed it.

“Now, please.”

Cody leaned down, taking a nipple into his mouth as he glided his cock into her.

Oh God, the way he filled her set her nerves on fire again. She wrapped her hands around his face, bringing his mouth hers. Hungrily, she kissed him as she met him thrust for thrust.

It didn’t take long, just as she suspected.  He broke the kiss as his body hardened and his teeth clenched. She was right there with him. With a final hard pump, they each went over the edge, crying out together. When they had their breathing back to normal, he rolled off of her, pulled her close, and she laid her head on his chest.

She’d close her eyes for just a few minutes; the last thing she wanted was for this perfect moment to end.

Lily rolled over in the soft bed, but then her eyes shot open. Crap. She’d fallen asleep. She leaned up onto her elbows and peeked over Cody’s hot chest at the alarm clock. It was nine thirty at night. She needed to get home. Gunther was probably worried sick.

She tossed the covers back and started to look for her discarded clothes.

“Hey, what’s the rush?” Cody sat up, rubbing his face.

“I’ve got to get home. Gunther needs me, and I need to make sure my mom’s okay.” Where the heck was her shirt? Oh right, it was in the living room.

Cody left the bed, sliding on a pair of sweat pants that hung low on his hips. She had no time to think sexy thoughts about the muscular man candy in front of her.

“I’m sorry I let you doze off.” He wrapped his arms around her waist. “You were just so peaceful, I wanted you to have some more time.”

She let out a long breath, her body relaxing into him. She could fall in love with this man in a heartbeat. All she had to do was figure out how to make it work in the long run. It wasn’t like he wanted to just move in with her and her mom.

“Thank you for dinner, and letting me talk you into sex.”

He chuckled. “I hope I didn’t resist too much. I had to play hard to get.”

She kissed his cheek. “You’re cute, and I need to find my shirt.”

Lily moved out of Cody’s arms and hurried into the living room, where she found her missing top. She pulled it over her head, and pulled her hair into a ponytail with the elastic band she always kept on her wrist.

I like when you wear your hair up.”

Her cheeks burned. She wasn’t used to a man giving her so many compliments. “Thank you, but I’ve got to go.”

He walked with her to the front door and flipped the outside light on. “Text me when you get home.”

She started to step onto the front porch, but he caught her wrist and tugged her to him.

“Don’t you dare leave without kissing me goodbye. Lord knows when our lips will touch again.”

Lily leaned in to give him a quick soft kiss, or so she thought. Passion took over, as usual, and the next thing she knew, the half-naked man had her pinned against the door jam. Her body roared to life and threatened to disown her if she didn’t go back to bed with this hunk.

She sighed. “I really do need to go.”

Cody stepped back and let his fingers linger in her waistband. “Sleep well.”

Oh, she wasn’t worried about that. After the aerobic work out they’d had earlier, she’d sleep better than she had in years.

Cody’s phone buzzed on the nightstand the next morning. He rolled over, seeing it was eight o’clock. Who the heck was bugging him at this time? Last he checked he had the weekend off from work.

He grabbed the phone and saw several new texts from Diane. She was one of those people who couldn’t say what they wanted in just one text. No, she sent several at a time.

You awake?

Wake up!

Patrick says he wants Uncle Cody to watch him so mommy and daddy can go out.

Call me
.

He loved his sister, but he seriously doubted Patrick requested him.

Cody climbed out of bed and stumbled through his house to the Keurig in his kitchen. He pressed the
on
button, then stared at his coffee selection. Was this morning a sweet or normal morning? Normal.

He popped the k-cup in then waited for his cup. After his first sip, he let out a sigh. The warm, caffeinated
drink was the first thing he needed each morning to feel human. He’d have to chug half of this down, though, before he could deal with his sister.

As he took a seat at the small kitchen table, he couldn’t help thinking about Lily. What was she doing today? How was her mom? Learning Lily’s mom was ill saddened him, but Lily was the type of strong woman who could handle it. She didn’t seem to let things get her down. She took life by the reins and went with it. Especially when it came to sex.

He chuckled. She had her mind set on them sleeping together and she made sure it happened. No complaints from him. He enjoyed each second of it, and looked forward to the next time they had alone time.

Cody sighed and drank more of his coffee. One moment it felt like things were moving fast with Lily, but then it was as though things rapidly slowed down. This relationship definitely wasn’t formula. Maybe that was good.

With Tori, he’d done everything the way he was supposed to. They were almost to the point of moving in together when she confessed she didn’t love him. It had hurt. Cody loved her and thought they’d marry soon after moving in. Then do the kids thing, and so on.

The kid happened sooner, though, and Tori never told him. Apparently, she’d thought she was pregnant and when she learned she wasn’t, she realized how wrong she was about Cody. She’d ended things right then, moved away, and he never heard from her again.

It had been a blow to his self-esteem. He understood a little better now, and he no longer felt like punching a wall when thinking of her, but Tori had left a bitter taste in his mouth for quite some time. Lily was changing it though.

His phone buzzed on the table. It was Diane.

“Hello.”

“I was getting worried about you. You’re usually back from your run by now.”

Diane was a clock-watcher, apparently. “I slept in this morning and skipped my usual work out.”

“Are you feeling okay? As much as I need some time with Matt, I don’t want Patrick getting sick.”

“I’m not sick. Just…” He didn’t want to get into with Diane.

“Just what?”

Darn, she’d picked up his trailed off word. “I had a date last night.” Might as well tell her. She’d find out somehow.

“You did!” A smacking noise sounded, and he assumed she was clapping her hands. “Was it with that clumsy waitress?”

“Yup.” Though she had not been one bit of a klutz last night. She’d been skilled.

“Did she spend the night?”

That would’ve made the night end perfectly. “No. She went home.”

“I can’t wait to get more details. We’ll be by in thirty minutes with Patrick. Sound good?”

He glanced at the clock. “Can you make it forty-five? I need to shower.”

“Damn. You two must’ve gotten wild.”

He shook his head. There was something seriously wrong with his sisters for wanting to know anything about his sex life. And they loved to share theirs with him. He found it gross, and did his best to tune them out. “I’m not talking about it with you. If you press, I won’t keep Patrick.”

“My lips are zipped. See you soon.”

Cody took a long sip of his coffee. Before his shower, he needed to baby proof a few things. But first, he was going to text Lily.

“I’m worried about her.” Brent sat in the rocking chair on the back porch of their mother’s home.

Lily wasn’t pleased with his tone. He was about to go all alpha on her. “Me, too. But she’s got the best help.”

He shook his head. “I’m not sure about that. This is more out of control than I thought.”

Lily sighed, just as she thought. He was going to play the big brother card and try to tell her what to do. “Look, we all agreed it was best for her to be in her own home.”

“Yeah, but one minute she knew who I was, and then next she was insistent I was dad.”

“It’s part of the disease.”

“What if she wanders off?” he asked.

“Brent, you’re being silly. She is never alone—well minus right now since you have me out here, and we’re trusting Gunther to keep his eye on her.”

He rolled his eyes. “This is a small town. I’m not trying to insult the nurses who care for her, but wouldn’t she be better taken care of in a big city?”

Lily’s mouth dropped open. “Are you implying they are less educated in a small town?” The nerve of her brother, swooping in and thinking he could take over.

“No, I’m not.” He crossed his arms and rocked roughly in the chair. “I’m suggesting the resources available to them aren’t as good as other places.”

“You know what? Ask mom what she wants?”

“You’re being silly.”

“I’m doing the best I can. You and Jake didn’t want to move out here and care for her. No,
you’ve got lives. You can’t uproot them
. That was all I heard when things started to go down hill.”

“I’m just saying we should think about putting her somewhere.”

She groaned. “It’s best for her to be here, for now. This is her home. She and dad retired here. They’d always wanted to live in a small town.”

“Yeah, well, dad’s gone, and she barely knows how to feed herself anymore.”

Lily stood. She’d had enough of her big brother. “I can’t talk about this anymore. When you leave today, you’ll go back to your life and return to your once a week phone calls. This is my life, all the time. Trust me when I tell you it’s best for mom to be here.”
