She was moaning quietly, but there was no fright in her tone. Something told him that she was enjoying herself. The thick down comforter lay in a heap at the foot of the bed. She was wearing a flimsy tank top and satin panties, her legs were slightly open and he wondered whether or not she was having a wet dream.
Only one way to find out
. Slowly and methodically he removed his shoes and climbed onto the bed. He needed to get as close to her as possible, it was the only way he would be able to control her.
Once she realized what was going on, he was positive she'd scream out, and he couldn’t have that. No, everything had to go smoothly, his life depended on it. He didn’t know where she kept her gun. Aurora licked her lips and moaned seductively, her eyes were closed and as far as he knew, she was still asleep. If he was going to do it, now was the time. He quickly forced his way between her legs and instantly clamped down on her mouth. Aurora's eyes flew open as her assailant pinned her arms.
Screams strangled her throat as they tried to escape. "Shhh, shhh baby, it's me." He kissed her on the forehead. "It's me." Aurora tried shaking the hand that held her mouth prisoner, but he wasn’t ready to let go. Liam leaned closer to her. "How safe did you say your place was?"
When he couldn’t understand what she was mumbling, he released his hand.
"What the hell are you doing Liam? You almost gave me a heart attack."
He was still between her legs and as they caught their breath, he couldn’t help but notice that her top had managed to fall off her shoulders and had left part of her breasts exposed. "Mmmm." He slid a hand over her hardened nipple.
"Liam, get off of me."
When his mouth found her erect nipple she moaned with delight. While one hand slipped into her panties, the other grasped a handful of her hair as he began kissing her. Her resistance faded almost immediately and she began to pant at his unyielding massaging on her clit. "You're so hot and wet," he whispered.
Aurora lay bewildered, but she was too wrapped up in the pleasure that he was giving her to respond. Liam toyed with her; he liked her teetering on the edge. When he removed his fingers from her she groaned. She saw that he'd stopped only to remove his clothes and purred quietly while opening wide for him.
"Take off your panties."
She did as she was told and wiggled out of them.
"You are such a beautiful woman," he said and licked his lips. He ran his fingers over her painted toes, inch after inch of her shapely legs and in between her thick thighs. She moaned as he ran his slick tongue up her belly to her chest stopping only to take a breast into his mouth. A wave of electricity surged between her legs and she begged for release.
"Please Liam."
"Please what?" He said as he hovered above her. His hard cock brushing against her wet pussy. She watched as a dark gleam came over his intensely blue eyes. "Don’t look at me that way," she whispered. "Unless you're going to do something about it."
Her pulse spiked as he ran his fingers alongside her face and down her neck. "Are you going to let me have a surveillance system installed?" He asked when he had her at her most vulnerable.
"Yes," she moaned and thrust her hips up to meet his throbbing cock.
"And no more telling me to leave Aurora. You need to understand that I cannot stay away from you. I'm here and I'm not going anywhere." Unable to hold back any longer he thrust into her. Her breath caught at the sensation. "Is that understood?" His tone more than masculine.
She could only manage a weak
yes
before getting lost in his eyes. Her body withered underneath his as he made one more request. "And I want to be the only one who feeds your insatiable appetite." He began pounding her harder and Aurora lifted her hips to accommodate his probing cock. "Tell me what you want Aurora," he groaned and thrust harder.
"You." Her voice was barely above a whisper. Liam withdrew his gaze from her long enough to look down and see her pussy lips moving around his shaft. "Take it Liam, take my pussy, it's yours." Her eyes told him that she'd meant every word. And the juicy sound of her pussy was driving him crazy. He leaned down and kissed her hard. The very idea that his cock was buried inside of her, in the deepest most secret part of her body only made him harder.
Her face was a mask of pure eroticism, her breathing heavy, and when she made eye contact with him she squeezed her pussy around him, making his cock jerk in response. He ached listening to the rolling rise of her voice, she was coming, and Liam soon followed suit. Her moans filled his head as she shuddered and bit down on his shoulder to quiet the wails of her release. He kissed her then, his mouth hungry and eager. His hands roamed her body in such a way that it made her feel as if he were checking to see if whether or not she was real. "That was amazing."
"Yes it was. But there's no going back on what you agreed upon."
She felt like velvet in his arms, and her body was giving off an almost bronze-like heat.
Aurora laughed. "You sound like a kid," she joked. He loved hearing her laugh, the sound made him quiver with its light.
"Don't worry, I fully intend on keeping my end of the bargain. She cooed playfully. A triumphant grin appeared on his face. "I think I finally figured out how to get you to agree to something that you normally would disagree on."
"Oh really? And just what did you figure out?" She sat up and slowly straddled him.
He was amazed that the feel of her on top of him was stirring his cock.
"I figured out that if you won't listen to me, you'll listen to him," he looked down between her legs at his cock.
She bent down and kissed him. "I give up Liam. I can't stop wanting you."
She closed her eyes and rested her head on his chest. Liam closed his too and relished in the moment.
She had never before experienced anything like what was happening between she and Liam. When she and Randy made love it was nothing compared to how Liam made her feel. Liam made her entire body come alive, and she liked the fact that he more than welcomed the release of her inhibitions. She rolled off of him and buried her head in his chest. This man was perfect, all six foot three of him. She found every inch of him enticing, from his thick dark chocolate colored hair to his muscular thighs. She wondered if he worked out, or if he was just built that way. He never mentioned going to the gym, but then again she had never taken the time to ask. Now all of a sudden she wanted to share and get to know anything and everything about him. But then he said something to her that put a damper on her desire to open up.
"Baby, we never talked about how you felt the night that Rafferty brought up your past. You know? About losing your baby?"
He could feel her tense up. "What is there to talk about? Sheriff Rafferty thought he'd try his hand at embarrassing me but it didn’t work, end of story."
"Yes I realize all of that but I'm talking about how you felt? I mean it must have been heart breaking. And the doctor told you that you can no longer have children?"
Her anger was rising and she was getting more than a little irked. "Listen Liam, I don’t know what you're getting at but no, I cannot have children. The doctor said that if I were to become pregnant again that I probably wouldn’t carry to term. So no, I cannot have children and yes I am on birth control. Is that what you want to know? You could have just asked me. Did you think that I was going to try and trap you or some ridiculous thing like that? Believe me, I don’t want to get pregnant again, I couldn’t deal with the loss again, I just couldn’t." He could see her eyes filling up with tears and he knew that his question had hurt her.
"Aurora I didn't mean to open up old wounds, I just thought that maybe you wanted to talk about it. You're always there for everyone else, I just wanted you to know that I want to be there for you, that's all. And for the record, no, I didn't think that you were looking to trap me."
"Liam, if you're trying to be subtle in asking me if I want to have children someday, the answer is no, no, and no. I won't put myself through that again so if you're planning on starting something with me, just know that I have no intention of getting pregnant and having children. Do you understand? Because if you don't, then I will say to you, don’t let the door hit you on the way out."
Once again her words stung and instantly he was sorry that he even brought up the subject. She got up and quietly moved around the room in search of her panties and top, it was a fruitless thing to do. It was late at night and here she was prancing naked around the room. But Liam had got her blood boiling and she didn’t know what else to do. The thought of kicking him out again came across her mind, but he looked so good lying in her bed that she thought better of it. She wanted nothing more than to cuddle up next to him and lay her head on his chest. She loved the way he held and caressed her, the soft hairs on his chest tickling her cheek.
Liam got out of the bed and went to her; he held her by the wrists and forced her to look up at him. He saw the spark of anger still in her eyes and he hoped that the fire was diminishing. "Aurora, are you ready for me to stay here?"
She nodded her head. "I am Liam, but I just don’t want to talk about certain parts of my past anymore alright? It's called the past for a reason and now that you know all about that part, I'd appreciate it if you stopped asking me about it. Now you can ask me anything else about my past, like where I grew up or what was my childhood like, but my marriage to Randy and losing the baby? That's over and done with alright? I can't Liam, I just can't. It hurts too much." She tried gulping away the tears, but they betrayed her and began flowing with a vengeance. Liam held her closer to him and kissed away her tears. "It's alright baby, I understand now. Everything is going to be alright, I told you that I wanted to be your haven, now all you have to do is let me."
That night, no nightmares invaded her head while she slept, and she was sure that it was because Liam was by her side.
The following morning over coffee, Liam and Aurora sat at the kitchen table going over security precautions. "I think you should start by securing the driveway with a gate, you know one that has an electronic keypad, telephone, and monitoring system."
His tone was all business now and while she listened intently, it was turning her on. If Mari and Rosie hadn't walked into the kitchen, she might have found herself underneath the table giving him head. "You'll also need motion detectors and a security camera at the front door." Aurora nodded and looked over at her friends. "Ladies, what do you think?"
"I think we could definitely use the extra security," they both chimed in.
"What's all this going to cost? I have to run it by the board of director's first Liam. I can't afford this on my own."
"There's no need for that Aurora, it's on me. Don't forget that I'm in real estate. Selling million dollar homes means selling safety and security as well. Just leave everything to me, I know all the right people. And please don't try and argue, because you'll lose."
Aurora sighed heavy and looked at the three of them waiting for her decision. "Fine," she said. "Liam, make it happen. But that's all, nothing else, and no guards. This is our home, not a prison."
"Yes ma'am," Liam grinned. He'd finally gotten his way. He didn’t tell her, but he'd already begun working on hiring a security company to install the gate and sensors. They were to start right after the Thanksgiving holiday. He breathed a sigh of relief, she would have ripped him a new one if she found out that he'd gone ahead and ordered the work done before consulting with her about it.
"Now that we got that all taken care of, we've got to come together and plan Thanksgiving." Rosie stood at the kitchen counter holding a notepad in one hand and a cup of coffee in the other. She wanted to go all out for the holidays, but first, she needed Aurora's approval. "Rosie, whatever you want to do is fine with me," she smiled.
"And will you be joining us Liam?"
A solemn look came across his face. "I'd love to but my father usually makes the trip down from Boston and this year I'm to meet my new step mother."
Aurora could tell by the look in his eyes that he was dreading the upcoming holiday.
"A step mother, who I might add, is not much older than me."
The room fell silent for a moment before Aurora spoke. "Well then, it looks like there will be two more for dinner Rosie," she grinned and looked at him with reassurance. "You just call your father and tell him there's been a change of plans, that's all. I mean, he comes to you right? And what do you guys do? Probably go out to a restaurant, am I right?" When Liam nodded his head she went on. "That's what I thought. Who wouldn’t want a home cooked meal on Thanksgiving? Give him a call now and tell him what's going on, I'm sure that if he wants to see you, he'll go along with the slight change."
Liam did as he was told and politely excused himself from the room, he didn’t want to spend the holiday away from Aurora anyway. And if his father wouldn’t go along with the idea he would tell him that this would be the first Thanksgiving of many that he would no longer be spending it with him. By the time he made it back into the kitchen though, he was smiling. His father had agreed to come for Thanksgiving. "It's official," he said. "You'll be meeting my father and step-mother, Amanda in a few days." He took her hands in his. "I told you about my father Aurora, I'm nothing like him." He then looked over at Mari and Rosie. "He can be a selfish, arrogant man who thinks only about himself."
"Honey, you're preaching to the choir," Mari chuckled. "We can handle arrogant, and we can handle selfish. Hell we all lived with that for so many years already. We'll take his behavior with a grain of salt, and who knows, maybe he's changed. It is possible for people to change," Aurora tried convincing him.
"You won't think that after you've met him," Liam frowned.
Chapter Seventeen
He had it all figured out, at least he thought he did. And if things didn’t work out, he'd just have to be patient until the time was right, he was more than willing to wait.
Patience is a virtue
, he told himself. What he was planning to do was more of a practice run anyway, just to see how accessible she was. He was sure that the photograph had gotten her thinking. After all, it was obvious that she'd forgotten what happened to her husband that fateful day. So of course she needed to be reminded. And it was none too soon because it looked as if the bitch was getting cozy with a new man. And he wasn’t about to let that happen, there was no way that Aurora was going to get to live happily ever after. Not after what she did to Randy, no way in hell.
