House Foods Tofu Shirataki is a dieter's dream. Pasta is a food that so many people think they simply CANNOT eat when they're counting calories. That's why these super-low-cal "noodles" (which are actually tofu-infused strands of yam flour) can be life-changing—literally! When I first discovered these, I started cooking with them like crazy, making all kinds of Alfredo dishes, stir-frys, spaghetti recipes, and more. The Tofu Shirataki recipes in this chapter are some HG favorites, but you'll find more recipes that call for these noodles throughout the book. By the way, if you have trouble locating House Foods Tofu Shirataki (at select supermarkets, natural foods stores, or Japanese markets) you can also try these recipes using regular shirataki noodles (the ones made without tofu). Those are not quite as pasta-like, but they aren't a bad Tofu Shirataki substitute. |
