I leave for last the one I most want to honor. I wrote

Mapmaker’s Daughter
before my beloved husband, James Fee, was diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer. He did not live to hold the book in his hands. I would like to go on record with my feelings here, but he would only be embarrassed. I will just say I don’t think I would be a novelist without him.
