The Biker's Chaos (Ghosts of the Prairie Motorcycle Club Book 5) (7 page)

“Oh, hey,” she said to her manager Tara. “I have a friend who might come in for dinner. Will that be a problem if I wait on him?”

“Him?” asked Tara, her ears perked up.

“Yes,” Hannah whispered.

“Oh, that kind of him,” Tara teased.

“I think so,” said Hannah.

“Just make sure you pay attention to your other tables, if we get any. Business is super slow,” she said.

“Hey while it’s slow, I will polish the chrome here,” said Hannah. “Since you’re doing me a favor.”

She was neck deep in the coffee dispenser when she felt the nudge of an elbow in her buttocks.

“Hannah,” gasped Tara. “Is that him?”

Her manager was rasping in a low whisper that sounded like she had something stuck in the back of her throat.

“Yep,” said Hannah.

“Oh my gosh,” exclaimed Tara. “He is fine. Does he have a brother?”

“Nope, but he has lots of friends. Come meet him,” said Hannah.

She hopped off the step stool and led her manager out to the hostess podium. John’s eyes glittered as he watched her approach. He winked. Then he wiggled her cell phone and handed it to her. Hannah quickly sent her sister a text. She had none from her which was kind of worrisome.

“Hannah,” teased Tara. “You have a table. Put your phone away.”

“John, this is Tara, my boss. She wants to know if you have any friends. Know anyone we can fix her up with?” beamed Hannah.

“I’m leaving now,” said Tara scurrying off. “Nice to meet you.”

“You didn’t wait for my answer,” John called.

“Do you know anyone?” asked Hannah excitedly.

“We can invite her on a ride.”

They stood staring at each other. It was amazing that she had just left him not but an hour or two before, and yet, she was so intensely happy to see him.

He sat, barely folding into the booth as she handed him a menu.

“Okay,” she said. “What can I get you?”

“How about a beer and we go from there? The one brewed west of the Rockies. No glass,” he smiled. “How come I didn’t notice how hot you were in your little uniform? We may have to make use of that.”

Hannah staggered she was so aroused. “Why don’t you meet me in the bathroom?”

He grinned.

Hannah rushed to the ladies room. John followed her inside. He stepped toward her and swept his hands over her, kissing her passionately. Like he had to have her or die.

Hannah wanted him back. She gripped his hands with hers and plunged her tongue into his mouth as deeply as it could go. John quickly locked the door to the bathroom.

“Cameras,” said Hannah.

“Buzz kill,” he joked wickedly.

But he hoisted her up and walked her into the stall.

“I promise to make this quick,” he whispered in her ear darkly.

In a flash, her waitress skirt was up and her stockings and panties down. John was inside of her, pressing her into the corner of the cold frame of the bathroom stall. He slumped just enough so that their mouths never left one another’s.

He drove into her furiously but with just enough restraint that she was not uncomfortable. Far from it. Her adrenaline rush concentrated to her middle and as he pumped into her, it built up until finally she released.

John clamped his mouth tightly on hers. Hannah’s breath rushed from her nostrils as rapture burst within her. It was unbelievable sweetness. She tilted against the stall as she let the pleasured waves take her. He cried as well, trying as best he could to finish but enjoy it at the same time.

He was still in the throes of a wild and quick climax when he separated from her, and they were wiping up and fixing their clothes. He was right behind her, crowded in the stall, so tall, so broad, so hot. They both washed up in the basin, regarding one another in the mirror. Hannah blushed so fiercely; she was momentarily paralyzed.

She gave him a kiss. “I’ve got to get back to work.”

He kissed her deeply one last time, and she rushed out.

Another person waited at the hostess podium. Neither Hannah nor Tara heard him come in. He looked around the restaurant, seemingly for someone to seat him. He locked eyes on Hannah and said glared.

“You,” he said wickedly.

It was the cop from the campground, Officer Mill who had been in the mob of people ripping her clothes off. He had a wrist brace on from where Danny had stepped on his wrist.

Panic shook her like an earthquake. But Hannah vowed to maintain control of her mind. She wasn’t going to let a man terrorize her. In a way, she welcomed the opportunity. She grounded and made her move.

“What do you want?” she asked.

He chuckled darkly. Hannah refused to serve him. So he decided to arrest her. When he took her outside, where nobody could see, he slapped her.

“You’re a bitch,” he said.

Another slap.

She told herself to not lose it. To keep it together.

He pulled out his gun to threaten her. “What would you do if I shot you?”

“You wouldn’t.”

He laughed.

The officer pressed the gun against her head. “Okay, maybe I wouldn’t. What would you do if I fucked you?”

“You wouldn’t.”

“My word against yours. They wouldn’t believe some little whore.”

John came from behind and tackled him to the ground. He dropped the gun. Hannah picked it up.

“Stop fighting right now! Or I’ll shoot!” Hannah shouted.

Her boss called the police and in a few minutes, sirens blared as swirling police lights blinded the restaurant front. An ambulance arrived as well.

It felt like the incident was drawn out, but the whole thing went down in minutes. Billy Weston stood between John and the downed officer. Hannah looked over to the two of them between heaves. The sheriff was softly talking to the John. Hannah felt awful. At least the surveillance cameras had captured the true story. Finally, John approached her as she was taking out the trash.

“Baby,” he said, firmly gripping her hips.

He grabbed a tea towel from the folded stack and pressed it to her face. He leaned her against the smooth, painted cinderblock wall as he removed the full liner from the trash can. He walked through the kitchen, to dump it. Tara, her boss, pressed a gentle hand on her shoulder, and then hugged her.

“Are you okay?” she asked.

“I’m sorry, Tara. I didn’t know that was going to happen,” said Hannah.

“Well how could you?” she said.

A rumble from outside the restaurant made Tara straighten her spine. The rumble grew louder and louder.

“What’s that?” she asked Hannah. “What next?”

Hannah smiled through her tears.

“Ghosts,” she said to Tara. “We’re about to be super busy.”

Chapter 11

The bikers had completely taken over the restaurant.

“There you are,” said Billy. “Can we wrap this up? You may have to talk to another cop just to keep things appropriate.”

“Hey, where’s Bull and where’s my sister?” asked Hannah. “Does anyone know?”

“I do,” said Trenton.

She laughed. “Wanna spill?”

“They’re in Reno getting a divorce.”

“Really? But we checked it out, or you did. Someone did. You have to wait six weeks,” said Hannah.

“Yes,” said Trenton. “Unless you can have a person who is a residence attest that you have been there for six weeks. And my wife knows someone.”

“Who?” asked Hannah, completely confused.

“My wife,” said Trenton.

“But…” said Hannah.

“My wife has Reno property. We’re saying they’ve been there for this very purpose. The marriage may be dissolved by now,” said Trenton.

“What if Cranston contests it?” asked Hannah.

“Nah,” laughed Danny. “He won’t.”

“Billy, Hannah here wants to be a deputy,” said John.

She smiled. “I sure do. But first things first. I have to fix my life and get it back on track. How long is Cranston going to stay in jail?”

“A long time if we have anything to say about it. We’re trying to get him to roll on Officer Mill, who just had his arm shattered by Marksman McCarthy here,” said Trenton.

Everyone grinned at John.

“We were able to get a warrant for his computer because of the death threat he sent electronically,” said Trenton. “We found evidence of human trafficking. We may have some evidence that will solve some cold cases. These guys are not sleeping easy tonight, that’s for sure.”

“You think they were going to sell me?” asked Hannah.

“I think they were going to do something. Make money off of you for sure,” said Trenton. “We found a picture of one person in our missing person database. She was a known teen prostitute. So Cranston was a pimp. That we know.”

Hannah shivered. Melinda and she had been associating with the devil.

“Why did he marry my sister?” she asked.

“It certainly gave him access to your property. It covered his tracks because he out and out stole that house from you.  I am working right now with the legal counsel of the mortgage company,” he said.

“I don’t know how to thank you,” she said.

“How about making me a chocolate malt?” he said.

“Hey, we want to hit the Spirit Lake Casino,” said John. “Will you or Billy need Hannah for like testimony or anything?”

“I don’t think so,” said Trenton.

“Oh, by the way, Tara, I need to have some time off,” Hannah teased.

That night was not at all like working. It was like being at John’s house the night before with all the bikers were dining together. These men did everything together. It was like having a family in a way. Hannah loved it.

“Are all of you guys going to Spirit Lake?” Tara asked, longingly.

“No, this is a date trip,” said John, levering his eyebrows suggestively.

“But that doesn’t mean we can’t go another time,” said Danny with a grin. “We live for road trips.”

By the end of the shift, the line cooks, the dishwasher and the busboy were sitting down, smoking cigarettes, drinking beers and sharing stories with the Ghosts of the Prairie. The place was sparkling clean though in short order. And it had been a great night, money wise. Hannah and Tara and crew left the restaurant as relaxed as if they hadn’t gone to work at all.

John and Hannah held hands to John’s Charger.

“This is such a cool car,” she said. “You can lie down in it if you had to.”

“Yep,” he said with a raised eyebrow. “You can sit up comfortably in it too.”

“Like if I wanted to sit on your lap?” she asked seductively.

“Yes,” he said in a smoky voice.

“Well, we’ll try it sometime. But for now, we better get you home. You have work tomorrow.”

“That’s right. I didn’t get much sleep last night,” he said. “But I was in bed all night.”

Hannah’s eyes widened.

“I can’t believe we had sex in the women’s bathroom,” she said. “They have to review all the tapes, even the women’s bathroom tape for evidence. And they found us.”

They both laughed. Hannah laughed so hard she squealed. They craned toward each other to meet in the middle. Their kiss was so lazy and languid. His tongue was so warm and soft. It had such a lascivious feel. The sensation went straight to her core. She was wet. He reached between her legs and stroked her through her panties. The friction of the texture of the fabric added to the arousing effect of his touch.

“Can you come to my place? When do you have to work tomorrow?” he whispered, his finger slipping under the elastic of her underwear.

He pushed his fingers into her center, dipping inside her. Hannah pressed her cheek against his. The very feel of his soft skin and bristly beard on her face was satisfying. She drew a deep breath as if to take the sensation inside of her.

“C’mon,” he said. “Let’s go.”

Chapter 12

John’s vintage car rumbled like an alligator, slicing smoothly around the grid of quiet streets to Hannah’s apartment. That was where she wanted to spend the night.

One of the great parts about being a waitress was Hannah did have her early mornings free. But she was pretty wiped out from the busy drama of the past few days. On top of that, she had never had a boyfriend before, and John was becoming the best and closest thing to it. But this meant she never had a man sleep in her bed. She had a very sudden and impatient urge for John to break that streak.

She felt a little selfish inviting him for afterward, the exhaustion on his face was incredibly obvious. He bumped into something as he traveled into the brief hall that led to her bath and her bedroom.

“Oh, jeez,” he replied.

“Well, if you wouldn’t be so huge,” she teased. “But I love you’re tall. I love my giant biker.”

A bolt of fear caused her to draw her breath in hard; like she was trying to suck those rash words back into her mouth. She was super quiet, afraid that the ‘L’ word was going to chase him away. John paused in the hallway.
