Epilogue

My dad is waiting under the white arch which is beautifully decorated with small white flowers. I look at him and he winks at me. My short white dress blows in the little wind that is always present on the beach. Next to my father stands Matthew the best man dressed in white baggy pants and a sailor type shirt. His girlfriend, the new pre-school teacher, Olivia, is sitting in the back row and he has eyes for no one but her. I turn and look into the crowd of faces seated on wooden benches on the beach. Cat comes walking down the aisle in a beautiful pale yellow and white dress. She is the perfect bride and smiles as she walks over to my dad. Then I look to the left and there, in the front row, is my blue eyed angel smiling at me and my heart melts at the sight of him.

The reception is at my dad’s house. Cat has been in charge of the decorations and it looks absolutely stunning. Matt calls me to take my place for the opening song. We start to play and my dad and Cat walks through the crowd to their table. We sing the first song and I am proud to be doing so today at my dad’s wedding. The beat of the drums keeps the rhythm and I sneak a peek at the drummer. He shakes his hair that has grown quite a bit, and winks at me. I laugh and wink back at him, the drummer doctor who is the reason for the beating of my heart.
