“Coffee’s ready!” he yelled from the hall.
I jumped and quickly put the passport in the sweater and closed the drawer. “I’ll be right out, just drying my hair!” I yelled back as I chose another sweater and pulled it over my head. It was a long sweater that went down to the middle of my thighs and the soft mint green color made my eyes stand out. I grabbed a towel and rubbed it in my hair as I continued to walk out to the kitchen. It smelled heavenly. Not only did the smell of coffee hit me, but the food as well. I walked in and was shocked to see Jaysun cooking. No man had ever cooked for me before. He had a towel wrapped around his waist and nothing else on. The sight of him practically naked with his gorgeous toned body, and cooking was almost too much to handle. I was glad in that moment that I hadn’t brought that passport out and waved it in his face. This was much more enjoyable than that.
“I hope you’re hungry,” he said as he placed a large mug of hot coffee down on the counter as I sat on a stool facing him.
“I am.”
“How do you like your coffee?” he asked.
“Cream and sugar,” I said, astonished that he was serving me.
I was always the one serving him at work, and now, he was doing it and he wasn’t getting paid for it. I was having a hard time processing it. He pulled the items out and placed the cream and sugar in front of him. Then, he smiled and winked at me. He turned his back to me and continued cooking.
“That smells good. What are you cooking?”
“Breakfast for dinner. Pumpkin pancakes, omelets, steaks, and potatoes,” he said as he flipped a pancake in the air like a pro to show off. I laughed at his boyish charm.
“I am surprised that you know how to cook,” I said arching my eyebrows as I took the first sip of the most delicious coffee I had ever had. I knew that it must be expensive premium coffee, but I think it tasted so good because he made it for me.
“Well, I wasn’t always a billionaire. I didn’t always have servants,” he said as he grabbed a plate and began to pile the pancakes onto it. As he said those words, the passport popped back into my mind again. Yes, he wasn’t always a billionaire and he wasn’t always Jaysun Rubic. What was he hiding? I narrowed my eyes at him as though I could find answers by analyzing his body.
“What’s wrong? Why are you looking at me like that?” he said as he turned and caught me. “Oh, nothing. I’m just very hungry and tired. Besides it has been an eventful day,” I said trying to cover up the real reason. His smile fell from his face at my words and he set down the pancakes in front of me, then he turned and filled another dish with omelets.
Then the steaks and the potatoes. He was quiet the entire time he did it, deep in his thoughts. Then he sat across from me and smiled, weakly at me. “Dig in,” he said.
I happily did so. I was starving at this point and I ate two pancakes with maple syrup that tasted like pumpkin and cinnamon heaven. The steak was perfectly juicy, but simple and went well with the omelets full of chopped vegetables and feta cheese. I even dipped a few of my roasted potatoes in the maple syrup like a hungry kid. I was so engrossed in the food stuffing my face that I almost forgot this gorgeous mysterious man, who was sitting across from me. When I finally looked up from my plate with my cheeks full of food like a chipmunk he laughed and laughed at me.
“What?” I said through a mouthful.
“For such a skinny girl, you sure do have an appetite,” he said arching his eyebrows at me.
“Oh, well… I forgot you were sitting there,” I said honestly and as a matter of
factly
. He just laughed at me. It felt good. This felt real for the first time since he first kissed me in that conference room.
However, now that it felt real, of course there was a problem. He was hiding something. I needed to find out more before I was sucked in any further. I wouldn’t find out anything here tucked away isolated. No, only at Plaerus would I find answers and I knew exactly who knew everything, Janet. I would have to be careful in what I said to her. But I would have too. This could not go on like this. There was too much at risk now, my heart that is.
“So when are we going back?” I asked.
“You want to leave?” he looked up surprised as though that never crossed his mind.
“I think it’s for the best,” I said quietly. He looked at me sadly, and then nodded his head in agreement, as though he knew the reason I wanted to go.
“Well, we are not scheduled to be picked up for two days, but if it’s important to you I can have the helicopter here as soon as it can be. Not sure what that will be until I make the call,” he paused waiting for my response. He was looking at me like he didn’t understand this sudden shift. We had just made hot passionate love in the hot tub and now we were having a great time eating dinner, then I dropped this bomb on him. Good, I thought. I should have some mystery about me as well, not just him.
“Yes, thank you. I’ll pack up,” I said as I grabbed my cup of coffee and left the room. I was glad that he didn’t make a big fuss over it and as I walked down the hallway I could hear him on the phone scheduling the helicopter pick up.
JAYSUN
I understood why she wanted to leave me, because I put her in a situation that almost got her killed. I saw it on her face in the kitchen before I served her dinner, the way she was looking at me. When I asked her why she was looking like that, she covered up why and instead said it was because it was an eventful day. In other words, because you almost got me killed you bastard! I could sense that’s what she was thinking. It was obvious to me. My heart fell to my gut and I wiped the smile off my face as soon as she said it cause it reminded me that I had put her in that situation. I would never forgive myself.
Even now she wasn’t completely out of the woods as she could wake up feverish from the encounter with the icy water and cold air. I thought she would hate me forever, which after realizing that I loved her, was a blow to my ego. Then she surprised me with fucking me in the hot tub. I felt good about that. Not just because it obviously was hot and felt damn good, but because this meant she wasn’t mad at me, and I was back on track to courting her, or so I thought until the kitchen. I cooked for her. That was huge for me. I had never cooked for a girl in my life. This must be what men in love do. It felt right. After seeing her so drenched in cold icy water and on the brink of hypothermia all I wanted to do was get her warm again, feed her, love her. I wanted to take care of her. It all seemed to be appreciated, but that didn’t let it slip by her that I was a danger to her. Now she wanted to run from me as fast as she could. We had only spent a day here, and now she wanted to leave when I really had a whole weekend of surprises planned for her while we were here on my island.
“Yeah, we need a pickup. As soon as possible…alright call me back when you know,” I made the call to my assistant to arrange the helicopter flight back. I didn’t want to go, but it’s what she wanted. I had to honor that. What the hell had I gotten myself into? This was new territory for me. I never got this close to anyone because I would have to tell them who I really was, eventually. I could never do that. So I didn’t get close. But somehow this came out of nowhere. What I thought was just another fun good time, turned into something more without me expecting it. Ring! Ring!
The phone rang. “Yeah? Yep. Sounds good.” It was my assistant. They were picking us up in three hours. Part of me wanted to make up some excuse that the helicopter couldn’t come until morning, just to spend one more night with her. But I had already fed her so many lies; I didn’t want to give her more. So I started to close up the house and get ready for our departure. Three hours later we were sitting on a bench facing the glass that looked out over the helipad. “Sure you want to go? You can still change your mind,” I said to her.
“Yes, I think it’s best for now. I just want to be in my own bed after everything that’s happened,” she said while looking at the floor. Something was off; she wouldn’t even look at me. She must hate me. I couldn’t stand it. I wrapped my arm around her waist and pulled her to me. “Look at me,” I said. She slowly lifted her lashes to me. I could not wait anymore. I planted a kiss on her lips. I wanted to take her right there over and over. Maybe if I told her that I loved her she would stay. It was about to come out of my mouth anyway as I rubbed my hands up her thigh and under her skirt. I pulled away from her and said, “Kendra, there’s something I have to tell you.” Her eyes got wide as though she knew what I was about to say. Then loud pounding interrupted my thoughts and a bright light hit us. The helicopter was landing on the helipad. It was loud and thunderous and it ruined the moment. It would have to wait. “That’s our ride,” I said taking her hand in mine. A few minutes later we were sitting in the luxury helicopter as we flew over the island. She leaned in and whispered, “What were you going to say? Before the helicopter came.”
Here was my chance to say it, but it felt wrong. We weren’t alone. The helicopter pilots were in the front seat and although they were occupied it was not a special moment to tell her I loved her. So instead I said, “I just wanted to tell you this.” Then I kissed her neck. “And this,” I kissed her shoulder. She breathed out heavily as though she was letting herself go in the moment. I welcomed it. I ran my hand up her thigh and under her skirt. I looked down and watched as she opened her thighs for me. She wanted it. I ran my hand further up feeling her silky soft skin reaching deeper in until I felt the fabric of her panties. I rubbed over them and she softly moaned. I covered her mouth with mine letting my tongue explore her mouth. She tilted her head back and gave in slumping down in the seat. I pushed the crotch of her panties to the side letting my fingers explore her slit. She was already wet. I liked that. I liked having that effect on her. I wanted to devour her. I slid one finger up and down her slit massaging, caressing, and teasing. She whimpered a soft sound in response. Then I pushed a finger deeper and deeper inside of her feeling her warmth wrap around my fingers. I had to restrain myself to not bend down and get between her thighs and lick her. Though, my pilots had seen that such behavior from me before, I didn’t want to do that with her, not here anyway. Not with onlookers. I liked this private secret seduction in the darkness of the helicopter that we were sharing. With my finger inside of her I moved my thumb over her clitoris. Her hand grabbed onto me twisting my shirt in her fist. She wiggled in the seat trying to keep quiet.
I smiled at her attempt for restraint. I liked making her on the brink of orgasm again and again. She buried her face in my shoulder biting down slightly. I moaned at having her on me, this close. Then I felt her tense up and then relax with a heavy sigh. I felt her warm fluid on my hand as I moved slowly and her pulsating body wrapped around me. I kissed her again and again. “How does that feel?” I whispered in her ear. “Like I’m flying,” she whispered back. I smiled at her clever response and she buried herself on my chest as I removed my hand from under her skirt. A few seconds later, she was asleep. I wanted to take her and tuck her into a warm bed. Now, I felt like an ass for not demanding we stay the night on the island so that she could get a good night’s sleep in a real bed. I guess it was too late for that now.
When we arrived back on top of my office building I had to gently nudge her awake. She sleepily followed me out of the helicopter and inside the building. “We can sleep on my bed in office apartment if you like,” I said to her as she wiped the sleep from her eyes. “No!” she said so abruptly it startled me. “I mean, I just want to be in my own bed. I’ll just grab a car to my place that’s fine.” I looked at her confused. First she was enjoying the sexual pleasure, then she was shutting me out cold. It was a roller coaster. “Are you sure?” I asked.
“Yeah, it’s fine,” she said walking ahead of me down the hall. “Wait, take the company car.”
“No, that’s not…”
“I insist!” I didn’t mean to yell it out, but I did. She was startled and didn’t say anything as I picked up a phone in the hall. “This is Mr. Rubic, have a company car brought around the front to take my guest where she needs to go.” I hung up the phone and looked at her. I was feeling pissed. Even though I knew she was running from me because I put her life in danger, it still pissed me off that she was shutting me out. I did all I could in that moment to rescue her from the icy sea, damn it.
“Thank you. I guess I’ll see you at work on Monday,” she said as she stepped into the elevator and was out of my sight. What the hell was that about? I went back to my office apartment and poured myself a stiff drink. I would have to drink myself into sleep tonight just to not think of her tonight. Shit.
