Kate Gosselin Cruise Canceled: 'We Didn't Get The Turnout We Desired,' Says Organizer

"Yes, that event has been canceled. We just didn't get the turnout that we desired and mutually we agreed that if we didn't get it, we would cancel," President of Luxury Cruises, who merged with the company originally organizing the event, Alice Travel, exclusively told RadarOnline.com.

"All ticket purchasers have been notified and everyone has been refunded. Some have chosen to continue on with the cruise, but everyone was given the choice."

"Kate asked for everybody's names, addresses and phone numbers and reached out to each one personally," the spokeswoman said.

"It was nothing to do with her. We needed to hit certain numbers and they just weren't where they needed to be."

That apparition you see in the distance is the rapidly fading form of a has-been reality show participant disappearing from the consciousness of people who were once fooled by her.

I have
had the distinct good fortune of spending time with the Gosselin kids on many, many occasions during Jon’s custody time. Here is a snapshot of what the Gosselin kids’ lives are like when they are with their dad.

On a random night in 2012, I visited for a few hours with Jon and the kids. This is their “normal” when they are with Jon.

• They cooked a nice dinner and ate as a family with some guests.
  
• They had Dunkin’ Donuts after dinner and couldn’t eat them fast enough.
  
• They played games and made crafts.
  
• Jon sat with the girls and made beaded jewelry with them, and he seemed to really enjoy it.
  
• Two of the little girls made me beaded bracelets.
  
• Jon made a campfire outside and roasted marshmallows with the kids. The kids loved it and gobbled them up as fast as he could make them.
  
• The little kids took turns reading books to me and showing me their toys.
  
• Jon handed out animal masks for all the kids to play with and pretend to be wild animals.
  
• A friend of Jon’s was showing the kids card tricks. They were captivated.
  
• The Disney channel was playing on the big TV in the background, but nobody was paying attention to it. They were having too much fun.
  
• Jon’s girlfriend, her three kids, and her mom were also there, having fun and playing with the kids as well. It was great to see the kids playing with other children in an unstructured, healthy environment.
  
• The kids were allowed to be just kids. There was nobody barking orders, and there wasn’t a minute-by-minute schedule for them to follow … like there is when they are at home with their mother.
  

I have never seen the kids so happy and relaxed.

There is a beautiful photograph taken long ago of Hannah running into Jon’s arms, with her own arms wide open and a huge smile on her face. She jumped up into his grasp and gave him the biggest hug I have ever seen her or any of her siblings give.

Kate Gosselin has been photographed by the paparazzi about fifty times more than Jon, but I have never seen a photo like the one taken of Hannah running into Jon’s arms. I have never seen a photo of any of the Gosselin kids showing any kind of happiness or affection towards Kate, ever.

If anyone on Earth can produce a single photo of Kate Gosselin with any of her children showing this much genuine love and emotion, I would love to see it. These kids are truly happy when they’re with their dad. When the kids are photographed with Kate, they almost always look sad or scared.

Pictures don’t lie.

If Kate Gosselin dislikes her ex-husband Jon as much as it would appear to the world, since she verbally bashes him every chance she gets in interviews and online tweeting, and continues to do so years after the divorce, why then does she keep his last name? Kate had total control over the final product, and yet she chose to show the world the mostly nasty moments of her life? If that was the best they could come up with, it is scary to think about what was left on the cutting-room floor.

It became very noticeable via Twitter, her own website, and her few-and-far-between television interviews that she felt the need to change her ways and the public’s increasingly bad perception of her.

After Kate lost her TV show, and no other viable TV opportunities arose through which she could rebrand herself, she was forced to take to social media to retain some kind of public presence. She became a Twitter-holic, desperately trying to keep her brand alive while simultaneously trying to create new brands in the process.
