Authors: Lori Goldstein
Special thanks to my good friends and tour buddies Jen Brooks, Lee Kelly, Trisha Leaver, and Jen Malone. It is a pleasure to be able to finish your sentences. Thank you to my confidants Kim Savage, Charlotte Huang, and Jenn Marie Thorne. Thank you to Chandler Baker for teaching me to write pitches and to roll with the story that comes, to Virginia Boecker for late-night gossiping and hand-holding, and to Kim Liggett for well, everything.
When you write about genies, you are inevitably asked what your own wish would be. For me, that wish is to have those I love always be with me. Thank you to Martha and Steve Goldstein, who have supported me for more years than either of us wants to count; my brother-in-law, Adam, and new sister-in-law, Lana, whose adventures keep them far but who are always in my heart; my sister, Jen, brother-in-law, Charalambos, and nephews, Andreas and Stavros, whose determination, positivityâespecially when life sucker punches youâand energy (specific to the boys) inspire me; and my parents, Denise and Frank Montemurro, who gave their own wishes up for me to have mine.
Of course, that list is not complete without my husband, Marc. I started writing because he told me I could. Little did he know how that suggestion would fill his days with reading revision after revision, his nights with plotting disaster after disaster, and his weekends with a wife who says “just one more e-mail” but really means “ten more.” These books would not exist without you. Thank you being my first reader and my last, and more than that, for being my best friendâalways and forever. And yes, if a second wish comes, I'll definitely use it on the beach house.
