Chapter 21
Mega

When Armad and his brother messaged me and told me that they had followed Chino and Dub to Wesley’s house, I felt like I had hit the jackpot. I told them to meet me at our spot so we could go over our plan to take that nigga out once and for all. We had been tryna track that nigga down for a minute now, and our chance had finally come. I could’ve easily rolled up to his residence and put a bullet in his skull, but it was something about making a muthafucka suffer that made my adrenaline rush; it gave me a high, so I wanted them to bring that nigga to my territory, and make him bleed.

I walked inside of the trap house and all of my niggas were seated around the meeting table waiting for me, including Rock. I sat at the head of the table so that I could let everybody know what was going down. Chino and Dub, had been excluded from this meeting, just like I had excluded them from the rest of our meetings. I had already informed my niggas what they were up to.

“Okay fellas, listen up! First things first, we gotta handle that nigga Wesley. I want him, Chino, and Dub all in the same fucking room. They all gone witness each other’s death. Rock, I know you got some personal issues with that nigga Jay, so I’ma let you do what you do best and handle that however you want to. Wesley, done sent hits at us four times, and the nigga should’ve been dead after the first one!” I stated angrily. Every time I thought about that nigga trying to take what belongs to me, it sent me over the edge. I don’t know what the fuck he had going on back in the day, but this a new generation, and my name is on these streets out here!

I continued.

“The first time he succeeded, but since I upped that security and been rearranging my shit around, the last three times didn’t go as planned for that nigga. He out to get the Boss fellas. He claims he want the city back,” I laughed. “Well that nigga gonna have to take it, or die trying. And y’all already know Mega ain’t giving up shit! We all in this shit together! Most of y’all niggas been rocking with me since day one, but a lot of times that don’t mean shit! Chino and Dub are prime examples. I put them niggas on! I raised those niggas up under me! Trez and Mark, I’m moving y’all up. The spots that once belonged to Chino and Dub, officially belong to y’all two now. Armad and Dre, y’all niggas been going hard lately. Rock, you been teaching these niggas well. Trez and Mark, I want y’all to bring me Wesley. It ain’t hard to catch Chino and Dub, but I want the big fish first. Everybody else, keep ya ears to the streets and don’t let nothing get by. This meeting is over fellas. Trez and Mark, y’all two stay behind…we need to go over the plan. Rock, you good?”

“Most definitely!” Rock said and we dapped each other up and he left.

“Follow me,” I instructed Trez and Mark as I took the lead.

These two were just as brutal as Chino and Dub, if not worse. Occasionally, I would let them fill in for Chino and Dub from time to time, but since finding out that those niggas were working for Wesley, they had filled their position permanently. Trez and Mark both met at Calhoun State Prison in Morgan, Georgia years back. They ran across some of my people in there during their stay and once they were released, I had a car waiting outside for them niggas, and added them to the squad.

I led them upstairs to one of the vacant bedrooms, opened up the closet, and hit the light. I grabbed two Berettas off the shelf.

“These two are only for backup, which I doubt you’ll need.” I handed Trez one and gave Mark the other. I grabbed an AK-47 off the shelf next.

“I want that nigga to know I ain’t bullshitting. You go up in his house toting these.” Mark took it out my hand and kissed it like it was his bitch. He was ready to take off and I liked that.

              I continued.

“Y’all niggas run up in there and snatch his ass up! I know he got niggas watching, so that’s why I’m sending nothing but the best. Armad and Dre gonna drive y’all back over there tonight. An extra set of hands won’t hurt!” I grabbed the other AK-47 off the shelf and handed it to Trez.

“I can’t wait to put this muthafucka to use!” Trez smiled observing it from every angle.

“Only use it if some shit pop off. I want that nigga alive and breathing when he gets here,” I reassured them.

“Yeen got nun to worry about my nigga! We got this!” Trez guaranteed. Mark and Trez did their signature handshake that they always did when it was time to handle business.

“Y’all taking the GMC tonight. Armad gone bring it over here later on,” I informed them. I had purchased an all-Black GMC conversion van with tinted windows for situations such as these. Once I laid down the plan for Trez and Mark, we went back downstairs and burned a few in the living room. Time was winding down and it was only a matter of time before Armad and his brother pulled up with the van.

Chapter 22
NaTaysia

Looking in the mirror, I applied a significant amount of Bossed up lipstick from Keyshia Ka’oir’s wet paint collection. This lipstick in a bottle had my lips looking hella pretty. The Africans in Albany had braided my hair into two neat goddess braids. I was wearing a cute flirty denim dress that I had ordered online a while ago and never got the chance to wear it. The dress buttoned down in the front, but I left the top two buttons unhooked to show not too much, but just enough cleavage to make any man drool. The push up bra I sported under it had my babies sitting up high and mighty. I was surprised at how the bra held them up so good being that I had cut the wires out of the bra. I massaged some Pineapple Splash body lotion that I had purchased from Bath and Body Works, over them, and my arms and legs as well. Even though I had a large selection of shoes to choose from, I chose to wear my Jimmy Choo, multi-color booties.

I grabbed my black Jimmy Choo leather tote bag, locked up my house and hopped in my whip. When I got inside of the car, I called Wesley to let him know that I was on my way. He answered on the first ring, as always.

“Hello, beautiful.” The smile in his voice was so sincere.

“Hey Wesley. I was calling to let you know that I’m on my way. I have to stop and fill up, so I should be there in about half an hour okay?”

“That’s what’s up. I’ll be waiting for you.”

“Okay. See you when I get there,” I smiled and we disconnected the call.

After filling up my tank at the Chevron gas station, I hopped in my car and dialed Mrs. Mildred’s house phone number to check on my baby. Mrs. Mildred was sixty-three years old and was very capable of caring for DJ, but I hadn’t gotten quite used to him being away from me all the time like this. Mrs. Mildred wanted to keep DJ and Jamelia tonight, so I had dropped him off over there earlier. Mega’s family was a huge help when it came to DJ, and I honestly appreciated the break, but I had been missing him ever since I dropped him off. I don’t know who called and asked to keep him the most, Mrs. Mildred or MeMe.

This was the first time I ever felt nervous about going out on a date with Wesley, and we had been on quite of few lately. I pulled into his driveway, stepped out of the car and made my way up to his door. I took a deep breath and rang his doorbell, hoping that he would hurry up and come to the door because his living area was very secluded and there weren’t any streets lights whatsoever. The only light that I was relying on was the headlights from my car and they would be shutting off soon.

Finally, he opened the door wearing a smile, a glass of wine, and a Dolce & Gabana three-piece dinner suit. I loved how Wesley and I would get dressed as if we were going out to eat at one of the most expensive five-star restaurants, only to stay at his house and prepare dinner ourselves, and sip on the finest wine.

“Well, hello beautiful?” He handed me this coquettish smile.

              “Hello, Wesley,” I smiled back.

We received each other with a hug, and he motioned for me to step inside and closed the door. I followed behind Wesley as he led us to the kitchen area, where our dinner was already prepared and served on the table. I had no idea what we were eating but it looked absolutely delicious.

“Oh my! This looks good, Wesley. What is this?” I asked as he pulled my chair out for me and I sat down.

There were a few candles burning around the house giving off a coconut and fig fragrance, and the sound of Maxwell’s “Fortunate” played softly in the background. He had definitely set the mood.

“It’s Balsamic- Glazed Steak rolls, with fried rice,” he said and took a seat at the opposite side of the table from where I was sitting.

“Oh, I never heard of this but it’s looks delicious,” I told him.

“It is, very!” He reached out and grabbed my hand to say grace. “Would you like to do the honor in saying grace tonight?” he asked.

I hated to be put on the spot, even if he and I were the only two present at the table. I just hated the attention. Especially, since my country ass never said grace before I ate a meal, and I knew that I should. I couldn’t object so obliged.

“Thank you Lord, for this food that has been placed before us. May we use it to nourish our bodies, and to nourish our souls. Make us even more mindful of the needs of others as well, through Christ our lord, Amen.”

“Amen!” Wesley said, and we grabbed our utensils and went to work.

“Mmmm…this is soooo good Wesley. Are you sure you cooked this yourself?” We both laughed.

“Yeah, I cooked it myself. You have been showing off your skills these last few dates that we had, so it was only right that I show off mine,” he stated.

“I would’ve never known that you could get down like this in the kitchen, had you not,” I stated.

We laughed and continued our food, making small talk with each other as we sipped on our wine. Then I heard the beat from Mint Condition’s “Pretty Brown Eyes” flow through the speakers. I slid my chair back and stood up to dance. I loved this song! It had been a while since I had heard it but it was one of those songs you could never forget.

“Oooooh, this is my jam Wesley!” I said.

I was standing at the table with my hands in the air snapping my fingers, rocking my hips from side to side, and he laughed. That alcohol had finally kicked in. I was doing way too much, but couldn’t find the urge to sit down.

“Girl, you don’t know nothing about no damn Mint Condition. You prolly was just born when this came out.” He picked up the remote to the radio from the table, and turned it up just a tad bit louder.

“Pretty brown eyes

You know I see you

It's a disguise the way you treat me

You keep holding on

To your thoughts of rejection

If you're with me you're secured”

I was acting like I had a microphone in my hand while I lip-synced the words of the song to Wesley. He laughed while grabbing a napkin to wipe the corners of his mouth. He slid his chair back, stood up, walked over towards me and held out his hand.

“May I have this dance?” he asked.

I ain’t gonna lie, that touch of Idris Elba that he possessed, made a bitch’s pussy drizzle, and that salt and pepper goatee made him even more attractive. Unfortunately, this thing that we had going on was strictly platonic. Well, at least for me it was.

“You sure can,” I said. I placed my hands into his and stepped away from my chair.

He placed one hand at the center of my lower back and held my hand with the other as we stepped back and rocked from side to side. We were both now feeling the buzz. Besides the music that played, the room filled with our laughs. We were having a good time. It was too bad that I could only see Wesley, no more than just a friend because he really was a nice guy with his buccaneering personality. I laughed nonstop as we danced to the beat.

When the song went off we went and sat down in his living room. Wesley’s house was nice but nowhere near as extravagant as Mega’s. We sat down next to each other and talked for a while, until I started to feel a bit uneasy and told him to turn on the TV so that we could find something to watch. Wesley turned on the TV and a huge picture of Simone was plastered across the screen. I choked up as I sipped the last bit of my wine.

“What’s wrong? You okay?” he asked.

“Yeah…I’m…I’m fine,” I lied trying to clear my throat.

“You sure NaTaysia?” he asked again as if he knew I was lying.

“Yeah, I’m sure,” I replied as I listened carefully as to what the news reporter was saying. I knew Simone had went missing but that was normal for her. She always went missing after scheming a nigga, or doing some other types of grimy shit. Hell, that’s how Kira had found her and Jay’s dirty ass laid up. Nobody knew where the hell she was.

“Dental Records have determined the human remains found at an isolated lake here in Albany, Georgia a few days ago. The coroner service has confirmed that the remains belongs to twenty-five year old Simone Davis, who was reported missing approximately six months ago. Investigators are still trying to put together the missing pieces of this puzzle as to how, why, and what actually happened to Davis, that led to her death.”

Wesley shook his head and turned the TV to the next channel. I wanted so badly to tell him to turn it back. I don’t wish death on anyone, regardless of what they had done to me, but you reap what you sow. Karma is the baddest bitch alive, and she had fucked the shit out of Simone. Even after what she had done to me, I still felt bad for her. She was so young, and I can only imagine what her mom was going through right now. Wesley quickly turned the TV off and turned around and then looked back at me.

“You heard sum?” he asked me and I shook my head no.

Thoughts of what had happened to Simone was still replaying in my head so I hadn’t heard a thing. I brushed it off until Wesley reached under his couch and pulled out a gun. Now I’m no gun expert at all, but it looked to be a Desert Eagle, .50 caliber.
The fuck is going on?
I had been in too many fucked up ass situations in the past couple of months, so my heart wasn’t built for whatever was about to happen. He put his finger up to his mouth signaling for me to be quiet and follow him, as he grabbed my hand pulling me up off of the couch.

Walking towards the door he reached for the light switch, and out of nowhere, two niggas wearing all black with ski masks had appeared. I jumped. Before Wesley could react, one of them hit him in the head with the butt of his gun, sending him down to the floor in pain.

              “Ahhhh!” I screamed.

I watched the blood pour out of the side of his head. I was about to kneel down to make sure that he was okay but the other one pointed the gun in my direction.

“Shut the fuck up before you get hit next!” he spat.

He didn’t have to tell me twice. I did exactly what I was told. My lips trembled while my heart raced. I looked down at Wesley and he seemed to still be alert from the powerful blow, and was trying to regroup.

The one that hit Wesley upside the head roughly took the gun out of his hand, and we made eye contact. He studied me long and hard as if I looked familiar to him. Then all of a sudden, he snapped!

“Yo, what the fuck is you doing here with this nigga?” he spat at me as if I was his girlfriend that he had just caught cheating. I didn’t know what the fuck he was talking about, and he was making it seem like he and I knew each other when that definitely was not the case. I didn’t want Wesley to think that I had anything to do with this because I didn’t. To him, I’m sure this looked like a setup.

“Huh? Excuse me, but I don’t even know you!” I told him.

He whispered something in the other guy’s ear while still aiming the gun down at Wesley. The guy that had the gun pointed at me, pulled out his phone, dialed a number and put his phone up to his ear.

“AYO BOSS!...WE GOT A PROBLEM! A BIG FUCKING PROBLEM!” he said into the phone while shaking his head.

He nodded his head at the other guy, telling him to pay attention to me as he walked away with the phone in his hand. Not even a minute later, he came back and whispered something into the guy’s ear that was focused on Wesley.

“Tonight’s yo’ lucky night nigga!” He kicked Wesley in his mouth with his black Timberland boots, causing blood to spur out. I cringed at the sight.

              “AHH FUCK!

Wesley held his mouth as he squirmed in pain.

I prayed hard as hell on the inside that they would just take whatever it is that they had come for and leave. Instead, the guy took me.

“You coming with us. Where the fuck yo’ keys at?” He grabbed me by my arm and I pointed towards my purse that rested on the island. Petrified wasn’t the word to explain how afraid I was.
Why were they taking me? I don’t even know what the fuck is going on. I don’t even know who they are! I need to try and get my phone so that I can call Mega. Fuck!

“GET ‘EM! AND DON’T TRY NOTHING STUPID!” he said.

Soon as I grabbed my keys off of the island, he snatched them out of my hand and tossed them to the other guy. He dragged me out of the house leaving the other guy inside with Wesley, and made me get inside the back of a black conversion Van.

Oh my god, I’m being kidnapped!
A few moments later I heard the alarm to my car. Right after that, the van that I was being held hostage in, started and pulled off. All I could think about was my son. I just wanted to go home and be with him.
What happened to Wesley? Did they hurt him? What were they going to do with me?
I had the urge to pee really badly, but I was going to hold that shit for as long as I could.               Approximately thirty minutes later, we came to a halt and the ignition shut off. I heard both doors open and then close. I could hear a few voices holding a conversation outside of the van. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to make out what they were saying. Both doors to the back of the van opened and there were two guys standing there looking at me as if they were waiting for me to get out. I’m assuming that these were the two guys that wore the ski masks earlier. Maybe they didn’t need them anymore because they knew they were going to kill me, and I wouldn’t be able to witness shit anyway.
