Chapter Twelve

After granting them sufficient privacy, Dex and Rick approached and sat down next to them. They spoke softly to each other allowing time for Tony to tend his sub and the opportunity to join their discussion when he was ready.

Tony’s chest rumbled as he joined the discussion with the other two Doms.  Dex and Rick were discussing Regan and the mention of her twin’s name soon caught Megan’s attention and helped ease her back to the present.

“I can’t believe she actually came here without me.”  Rick was talking about Regan who had shown up for open sub night with three friends in tow. “No collar.  No one to protect her.  The sharks were circling by the time Dex got there to intervene.  It’s been two whole weeks since her last fucked up incident so I don’t know why I’m so surprised.”   He leaned back on the couch raking his long fingers through his hair and growling in frustration.  “I’m at a loss on how to deal with her anymore.”

“I had to restrict her to the bar area, Cap.”  Dex filled Tony in on his reaction to Regan, a collared sub showing up alone without her Dom, collar or cuffs.  “I reminded her of the rules and she didn’t seem surprised.  It doesn’t happen very often but the rules still restrict collared subs from access to the public and private
playrooms without their Dom’s presence or permission.  I warned her if she was found in any of the member’s only areas she would be ejected and most likely be suspended for thirty days.”

“What was her response, Master Dex?”  Megan asked this softly from Tony’s lap.

“Back with me I see, Angel.  Here, drink some water.”  Tony handed her a bottle of water without allowing her to leave his arms and lap.  Tony then looked to Dex for the rest of the story.

“She didn’t seem to care.  She said they only came to hear Elena.   It’s sub night so the bar and lounge are open to guests.  She hasn’t really violated any club rules yet except she and her friends seemed pretty lit.  That’s not a violation either unless you planned on playing tonight, Rick.”

“Damn, I volunteered to work a double DM shift tonight because she said she already had plans with her friends.  One of them is an old college roommate who is just in town for a few days.”  Unable to sit still, Rick stood and started pacing in front of the couch.  “They were supposed to be going to dinner and the movies.  I never expected her to end up here.  Don’t worry Dex, I’ll set her to rights, straight away.”

“Chill, bud.  Calm down before you go talk to her…” His voice trailed off as he watched his friend storm angrily across the crowded room.  He felt for his friend, knowing full well the pain of dealing with a woman who was like an emotional time bomb.  “Don’t do anything stupid, my friend.”

Rick found Regan, her cousin Moon and two other friends at a table near the stage.  They were working through a pitcher of margaritas.  Elena had finished her final set and the house band was setting up to play the late sets.  He excused his wife and tossed her over his shoulder despite her protests.

“Stop Rick, you’re embarrassing me!”

He didn’t break stride and carried her out of the lounge and through the bar area stopping once inside the member’s only area to direct the DM to make sure the three ladies got a cab home, on him.

Several times, he applied the flat of his hand to the wiggling, squirming ass of the sub over his shoulder as he proceeded to the cage area.  Fortunately, there was an empty one and he accepted the key from the sub on duty.  After locking his naughty wife inside, he crossed his massive arms across his chest and stared at her as she protested and demanded her release.  “You have to stop caging me Rick.  It’s not fair.  I didn’t come to play tonight so let me out.”

“Silence! Just who the hell do you think you’re talking to, sub?”  He roared and heads turned his way as the sheer volume rose above the ambient noise of the club at full capacity.  It definitely penetrated the inebriated mind of his wife who quieted and bowed her head in apparent obedience.

“I didn’t do anything wrong, Rick.  The movie was sold out so we decided to come hear Elena.”

“Nothing wrong?  Dammit Regan.  Where is your public collar?  You know an uncollared sub alone here is up for grabs.  Not to mention it’s a slap in the face of our relationship.  Imagine what everyone is thinking with you showing up without me and without my collar.  Dex said the unattached Doms were circling your table like a pack of starving dogs.”

She stared at him, staggered.  Her hands flew to her bare throat.  What had she done?  Why had she gone out without her collar?  It was a public collar, it look like more like jewelry and she wore it all the time like her wedding rings.  She tried to remember but her intoxicated brain wasn’t functioning right.  She opened her mouth to plead for his forgiveness but he stopped her.

He bent at the waist and placed his hands on his thighs as he looked into the cage at his unmanageable woman.  “I don’t really want to hear anything you have to say right now, Regan.  You need to be punished.  Unfortunately, this is the only option you have left me thanks to the amount of alcohol you sucked down at the bar.  You will stay here, caged and silent, and sober up.  Master Dano here is in charge.”  Rick looked at the DM who acknowledged his orders with a nod. “You remember him?  He’s the one you gave the slip to last year while he was assigned to you for security.  He was pretty pissed about that so don’t expect any special favors.  Also, he’s instructed to gag you if you are unable to keep your unruly mouth shut. If you need anything else, Alison will assist you.  I will return in a few hours after my DM shift in the dungeon, if - and that’s a big if - I’ve calmed down by then.  At that time I will determine if you are sufficiently obedient and sober enough to be released and receive the paddling you have coming to you.  Understood?”

“Yes, Master.  I understand.  I promise I’ll be good.”

Rick sighed heavily and looked at her with such a disheartened expression it hurt her soul.  “I’m beginning to wonder if that is even possible anymore, my darling wife.” With that parting shot he left her, caged and subdued, tears rolling down her flushed cheeks.

Time in the cages crept by slowly.  Rick had caged her only once before and only for about thirty minutes.  She hated it then.  If she lived to be one hundred she wouldn’t forget that awful day.  It had been on that fateful day when her life started spiraling out of control.   She sat in the same cage facing the same uncertain future, it was like déjà vu.

She wiped the drool from her chin.  Even the fairly small ball gag made it hard to swallow and the saliva slipped down her chin and onto her chest.  Of course, Regan had been unable to refrain from talking and Master Dano had gagged her not fifteen minutes after Rick had left.  Regan had no idea how long she had been in the cage or how long until Rick would return.  This was agony.  There were no clocks in the play areas, specifically for this reason.  The Doms liked to make their subs suffer by keeping them wondering how long they had left on their sentences, another effective mind-fuck technique.  So she sat in her cage feeling sorry for herself.  She was alone in her misery since the subs in the other two cages had been released by their Master’s long ago.   Each had given her a sympathetic smile as they’d been led away.

Regan’s eyes searched the public area for signs of Rick.  She had watched Tony and Megan leave a while ago.  Meg had offered her a tentative smile from across the room but Tony had deliberately steered her clear of the cages and toward the front door.  Tony was especially protective of his pregnant wife and they were usually home by 11 p.m. these days even though prime time for The Club didn’t really start until midnight on weekends.  She’d bet Megan had never had to endure a caging.  Despite her
often-undisciplined tongue, she was a well-behaved sub for a newbie.  Better than Regan, that’s for sure.

From her vantage point she could see most of the public room activities.  Master Jonas was in a scene at the chain station with his sub
du jour
.  His flogger was flying as the lucky girl writhed in pleasure under his expert hand.  Of course ropes were involved, too.  Master Jonas’ kink was rope play and bondage.  He was a Shibari Master and gave demonstrations on a regular basis.  She saw that Lil T had hooked up with a couple at the spanking bench.  He had his cock in the woman’s mouth while the other Dom paddled away at her ass.  Regan’s nose wrinkled. Lil T was such a man slut.  She wasn’t sure if he had a particular kink, but he was known to be open to just about anything including couples, ménage and groups.

Bored and lonely, Regan continued to watch the scenes played out in front of her when her attention was caught by a tall blonde in a vibrant red dress.  She turned suddenly and Regan noticed she was actually wearing a spanking skirt.  It had looked like a fairly conservative sheath from the front but when she turned around… wow.  The circular cut out in the back bared her ass cheeks in all their glory.  Lots of subs went naked, but this skirt seemed much more provocative somehow.  Regan suddenly realized who the blonde was.  It was big boobs, the FBI agent who was always hanging off her husband.  Thank goodness he was busy working as a DM tonight.  She didn’t want him getting any ideas, he loved unusual club wear and would absolutely adore that dress.

She watched her stroll across the play area, turning heads as she went.  She politely declined several obvious offers by several Doms, seeming to move purposefully toward a seating area near the St. Andrews cross where a group of Doms gathered.  Regan watched her slide her long arms around the neck of a dark haired Dom seated on the couch.  He looked over his shoulder and smiled up at her.  Regan’s heart lurched when she saw it was Rick.  As she watched, he grabbed her hands and guided her around to the front of the couch.  She whimpered as she watched as she modeled her outfit for the group, seeming to pay extra attention to her husband.  That slut, how dare she?  And, how dare he enjoy it while she sat alone in a cage just across the room?  He was grinning from ear to ear as the blonde posed and flirted with him and his buddies.

Regan felt sick.  Now that she was sober her mind was putting things together.  She had always thought Rick was faithful to her but things had been really rough for them lately.  He probably saw her lack of collar as a public rejection.  Feeling dizzy, she leaned against the side of the cage. Maybe tonight she had finally succeeded in pushing him away.  The reality was so much worse than her imagination and had her stomach rebelling.  Frantically she signaled to the DM and sub attending the cages.  Since she was gagged, her signal was to drop a white scarf on the floor by the cage doors.  Immediately the sub came to assist her, she quickly removed her gag and opened the door.

“Please, I need the bathroom. I’m going to be sick.”

Alison instantly assisted her out of the cage and with a quick nod from the DM in charge escorted Regan to the ladies room.  Once there she left to get her a ginger ale from the bar hoping it would help soothe her upset stomach.  Regan took the opportunity to slip out behind her.

This was it, the final straw.  Although she had told herself this several times before, tonight her pain and anguish had hit cataclysmic proportions.  She felt certain at that moment she just couldn’t continue with her life in limbo as it was.  She had to move forward and knew what she had to do it before her depression became real despair and sucked her down into its depths.

But
whom was she kidding? She knew down deep that she had been there for months.  In denial she had blamed all the tears, anger, mood swings and all around bitchiness on the hormone therapy.  In actuality she had been grieving the loss of her marriage in advance.  She also realized that she had been acting out because she was trying to push Rick away, hoping her disobedience and erratic behavior would drive him to leave first so she wouldn’t have to.  Well, looks like it was working.  He was turning to another sub.  At least he found someone who could make him laugh and smile.  All Regan seemed to do lately was piss him off.

She waited behind a group of trees where she wouldn’t be seen by anyone exiting The Club.  Pacing impatiently she looked up and down the quiet street for her cab.  Please hurry, she pleaded silently.  It had taken her almost fifteen minutes of dodging friends, DMs and owners to make it to the lounge up front to retrieve her phone and purse from her locker.  By then she was sweating feeling certain someone would have reported her AWOL to Rick by now.  She didn’t know what she would do if Rick caught her fleeing again but she doubted she could go through this again.

Her cab arrived and she numbly climbed into the back giving the driver the address of the bakery.  She had stashed a few outfits, other personal items and some cash there a couple of weeks ago, all as a contingency plan for when she finally got up the nerve to make her move.

The cab was quiet so her mind began to race as she came up with a plan on the fly.  She’d stay at a motel tonight then start looking for a decent place to live -  Southside and Downtown probably - although Rick wouldn’t like it but those were the only two places she could afford.  She’d have to get a real job with real pay.  She had an obligation to Megan and the bakery but she could hire a manager to do what she had been doing lately.  Maybe one of the other owners would buy her out.  Then she could go stay with mom and dad, at least until she got on her feet. They had moved to Galveston near the beach and she loved the beach.  She could get a job there and find a place on her own.

She knew she couldn’t stay in San Antonio without Rick.  She imagined a life without him and it looked pretty lonely.  She didn’t think she’d ever want another man and certainly not one in the lifestyle.  Even if she wanted to, she wouldn’t be able to return to The Club as a single; that would be too awkward.  As for friends, did she really have any left there were her own?  Other than her sister and her cousin Moon, she couldn’t think of anyone in her current group of friends that wasn’t intricately connected to The Club or to Rick.  She also couldn’t live her life vicariously through her sister, watching her have all the things she dreamed for herself.  She was too selfish.  But the main reason she couldn’t stay had been made clear tonight.  She wouldn’t be able to bear watching Rick move on with another woman, even one that made him happy.
