Huge thanks to my amazing agent, Will Francis, who has been incredibly supportive and without whom this novel would never have seen the light of day. Thanks also to the rest of the team at Janklow and Nesbit (UK).

I would also like to thank Katherine Armstrong, crime editor at Faber & Faber, for her conviction, enthusiasm and commitment. Also thank you to the whole fantastic Crime and Thriller team at Faber.

I was lucky enough to have Mo Hayder as my mentor early in the writing of this novel and she has always been hugely supportive and incredibly helpful. I owe you!

Thanks to my wonderful mother, Pamela Taylor,  who has always supported me. Thanks also to my sister, Maggie Knottenbelt, who was my first reader, and to my sister-in-law, Jo Medina, for all her help with the kids. Thanks as well to some of my great friends including: Bettina and Sean who need to come back, Nancy Le Roux and Tor Crumby for my champagne celebration, Yani Nayman for always being there, my Devon crew, Crocks, Liz and Nome for wet weekends, Lindsey Pitt my original writing buddy, my friends from Bath Spa, Aengus and Sophie, Tor, Ana, Belinda and Steve (the fabulous Chickens), my NCT buddies, Tracy Grass, Judi Faithful and Jo Manley, my godson Will Creffield and his mum‚ Katie. In loving memory of my late father, Derek Taylor, who appeared in this novel with a fat Staffie!

Most of all, lots of love and more thanks than I can ever express, to Anthony Medina, Isabel, Anna, Alexander and Pandy.

About the Author

While studying for a degree in Psychology, K. T. Medina joined the Territorial Army where she spent five years, first as an officer trainee and then as a Troop Commander, in the Royal Engineers.

After leaving the TA she worked in publishing as Managing Editor, Land Based Weapon Systems, at Jane’s Information Group, where she was responsible for providing information on small arms, armour, artillery and land mines to global militaries. Whilst at Jane’s she spent time in the Middle-East and in Cambodia, working with mine clearance charities in Battambang to provide them with information that would help mine clearers deal with complex mines and IEDs more safely in the field.

She has also worked as a strategy consultant with McKinsey and Company, and has lectured in business and consulting at London Business School and the London School of Economics. She recently obtained an MA in Creative Writing from Bath Spa University and now writes full time.

White Crocodile
