Claire took off her
coat and toed off her shoes,
“You could have left a message in
stead of sneaking into my house,” s
he chided.

“I have a key. A
t least I
didn’t
bring my truck. No one knows I am here. So relax,
you’ve
had a long day. Strip and get into the bed,” he demanded with an impish grin.

She spun around slowly, facing his smug face.
Her fingers trailed up under her shirt
,
and
she slowly brought her shirt up over her head
tossed it aside
. She eased off
her jeans and kicked them away
and twirled.
With nothing on except a r
ed lace bra and red silk thongs, s
he started swaying and dancing
up to the bed.
She straddled him. Leaning
down
, she
jerked his mouth to hers.

“I’m in charge,” she bit his lip and cupped his cock through his sweatpants.
His hands gripped her ass
,
and
he thrusted his hips up. She
threw back her head and moaned.

Can you come like this?

He asked
as he continued to grind his cock in her pussy.

“Take
you
r
sweats
off. I need
you
inside me,” she pleaded
. She lifted enough for him to free himself. She position
ed
herself over his tip and eased onto him.
He peppered feather light kisses across her chest, his fingers undoing her bra clasp.
His hands squeezing her breasts, while his tongue flickering over her nipples.
She whimpered at the sensation of heat surrounding them.

Her free hands held his shoulders tightly as she starte
d to ride him, slowly as first.

“Faster baby, yes,” h
e gripped her hips,
f
orcing her to ride him faster, t
he frictio
n causing her clit to throb. He started fucking her from underneath causing her to come before she was ready. Her aftershocks
caused him to follow her over the cliff.
She slumped against him, trying to calm her ragged breathing.

“Welcome home sweetheart,” he whispered from above her.

Chapter Seven

Fisher landed on the ground with a heavy thud, his horse
still
kicking viciously.
He raced to calm her down. C
ooing and petting
her
until it was only whimpers coming from the horse.
He slowly moved to her leg
to inspect the damage. Fuck, he
would probably need a vet to look at it.
Lexie was
the only other person Bree liked.
It came in handy, since Lexie was a veterinarian technician.
H
e pulled out his phone and called her. It would be a twenty minute wait. He sat down on the ground, next to his horse, ran his hands through his short hair.

He should have stayed in bed this morning, cuddled up with Claire. He never got the chance to ask her about the Houston land last night
,
and
he
had
left
before
she woke up
.
Did he feel guilty not evening allowing her a chance to talk to him about buying his land? Yes
, god knows
the
ranch could use
som
e
ext
ra money
.
He needed to stay away from Claire for a while, needed to sort things out in his head. He never was clear headed around her. He
was saved
from thinking into it any further, for Lexie just pulled up.

“What happened to her?” Lexie asked as she made her way to the restless horse.

“I w
as checking the fences, when Bree
fell into a deep hole
,
and
she went down on it,” he answered, standing up to assist her with whatever she needed.
Lexie carefully turned the horse’s ankle, gently pressing on
it
, while he soothed his horse and kept her attention.

“Doesn’t appear broken, just badly sprained.
Her cuts will need to be stitched up. It will need
bandaged
.
I’ll give her some
meds
to help with the pain
. Just try and keep her
rested,
” Lexie finally determined.

“I’ll tie
her up and go get the trailer,
” Fisher said absentmindedly.

“Come on then.
I’ll drive
you
back,” she said, packing up her supplies.
She left him to tie up his horse. He climbed in the passenger side
,
and
she started the ten minute drive back to his house.

“Is something wrong?” He asked when she
didn’t
speak or even look at him. Her demeanor was
severe and frosty
. S
he had been standoffish while she looked over the horse too.

“What the hell are doing with my sister? She
isn’t
even back a week
,
and
you
are messing with her head.
Isn’t
it enough that she moved three thousand miles away to get away from
you
?” She snapped.

“I
don’t
understand. She
was accepted
at Ohio State. She wanted to go,” he said, not
quite
sure what was going on in Lexie’s head.

“She
was set
to go to Texas A and M with Asher! She changed her mind at the last second
,
and
I hardly saw her for six years
,
and
now she is planning to leave again all because
you
are a selfish bastard and
won’t
sell land to her.
If it was anyone else, it wouldn’t be a problem,” Lexie
said rigidly.

Before he had a chance to say something, she skidded the Land Rover to
a halt outside one of his barns,
“Get out and leave Claire alone,” she said in deadly calm.

He climbed out and slammed the door and stomped over to
where
his truck
was parked
.
What did Lexie know of his relationship with Claire?
Hell, what did he know
of his relationship with Claire
?
I
f one could even call it a relationship. They had been tip toeing around each other since high school.
Fisher wrestled with the trailer and hitch, so consumed in what he was doing, he
didn’t
hear his father walk up behind him.

“Need help son?
Saw Lexie leave a couple minutes ago, o
ne of the cows down or something?” His father asked.

“Bree sprained her
ankle;
I need to bring her in.
Jump in the truck and
you
can help me get her into the trailer,” he said, finishing
hooking up the trailer lights.
Fisher wiped his hands on his jeans, leaving dirt stains down the front. Another
decent pair of jeans ruined.

Him and his father drove out to the fenced p
astured, where Bree was waiting. They loaded her up and got her home in her stall, covered with a blanket. She probably wouldn’t rest easy tonight
.
Fisher made a mental note
to check
up on her later.

“Can I ask you something son?” His father asked uncertainly. Fisher nodded
,
and
his father waited a few more seconds before asking, “Is there anything we can do to help Claire? Maybe lease her the land for
a couple years
to see how it goes?”

“Lease it? It would be hard and
frightfull
y
expensive to move a camp
off of it when the lease was over,
it wouldn’t work
,
pa
.
Why are you so worried about it?” Fisher asked, getting tired of everyone blaming him. It wasn’t his fault she decided to come home and try to buy something that wasn’t even for sale.

“The Hicks
have been our
neighbors
for decades.
I ma
de a promise to look after them
girls like they are my own.
Of course, I am going to worry about them. It is
a
n
admirable
thing she is doing,” h
e replied.

“What am I supposed to do
,
pa
? Sell her my land that I have plans for? I can’t, I already spoken to a devel
oper, construction starts here
soon,
” Fisher said.
His father’s
face paled
.

“A developer?
This is your
brillian
t plan?
I’d rather have thousands of children running around, making
good
us
e
,
than clog it up with homes,” h
is father said
,
outraged.

“No
pa
.
Not a housing development.
One
large
home, for you and
ma
, a well-deserved
retirement.
I’m giving it to you and deeding
you that land
to go with it
.
Geesh
, who do you think I am?”

His father remained silent and watchful. Fisher could see that he was mulling it over it his head.

Hell son, what you go off and do something like that for.
We’re happy where we are. We’
re old folks, d
on’t need much. Your
ma
would like some
grand
children
, not a
big
house that
is
gonna
sit empty
now that you and Ash
have
grown
up
,” he finally said.

“Grand
children and not a house?
” Fisher finally said after thi
nking about what his father comment
.
His father graced him with a warm smile and pulled him into a bear hug.

“We would like that
. P
lease reconsider Claire’s offer.
The ranch could use the money
,
and
it would help us get back on track,
” his father said.

Fisher didn’t want to
argue
. The Ranch was getting back on track now, under his management. Yes, it would take a few years
to return it to what it once was,
but they wouldn’t lose it
.
He watched his father walk up to the home he grew up in
.
He
wondered if his father was right about them not needing a new house.
It
actu
ally wasn’t a bother for his parents to live with him.
Technically, it was their house. He just bought it to keep it from going to the bank.
Why couldn’t he just deed this house and surrounding land to them
?
He could keep this lot and new home for himself
.
Was it
really
that simple?
It was something he would seriously need to consider. In the meantime, he n
eeded to finish today’s chores for the ranch as well as his daily conference call with his team in New York.

Claire
hung up the phone with the realtor. There was forty five acres of land available at
the
sheriff
’s auction in
Fayetteville,
Arkansas.
The sale was
the following
Monday morning. This means that she would drive over and stay for the weekend. Check out the land and the area. Talk to the community
. G
et a feel for it.
This time, she was going alone. She didn’t think she could stand the up-tight realtor for a whole weekend.
