“What do you say we go back inside?”

“I know that look,” she said, teasing.

“I think you
do
know that look.” Tanner picked her up and draped her over his shoulder. Natalie squealed with delight.

“I think I like that look,” she said as Tanner carried her inside. “I’ve always liked that look.”

Not long after, back home in New York, Natalie found out she was pregnant. The next months were filled with shopping for the baby’s room, and the double baby shower Cheryl gave for her pregnant girlfriends. The new home in the country was ready, but Tanner delayed the move, wanting to be near the hospital until the delivery.

Spring came again, and Jazzy gave birth to a brown-eyed baby girl, Audrey Rose. When his new baby sister came home, Asher was thrilled, and enthusiastically took on the role of older brother. And Emma was beaming, a grandmother again. And soon she would have a third grandchild. The anticipation had everyone on edge.

A few months later, Tanner sped to the hospital where, later that evening, Natalie gave birth to a baby girl. Callie Anne Clarke had Tanner’s blue eyes. From the first second, he adored his daughter, and there was no question she was going to be very spoiled little girl—in a good way.

Watching Tanner hold and talk to his baby daughter, Natalie thought she’d burst with happiness. He was going to be an amazing father, and he was, without a doubt, an amazing husband.

Tanner looked over at her and grinned.
God, he’s gorgeous
. Natalie grinned back. Then she opened her arms, and Tanner handed Callie to her. Her beautiful girl looked up, her blue eyes bright, and Natalie was sure she saw the hint of a smile.
