Valentine (The Dragon Kings Book 3) (25 page)

Aspen raced for him and embraced him. Hazel right behind her. He didn’t look like himself, but Hazel didn’t care. Rowan was alive. He crushed her in a hug.

“You scared the hell out of me,” she mumbled into his shoulder. She let go of him. “Where have you been?”

He grinned. “That’s a long story.”

“Yeah, and I expect it has to do with that black dragon over there. How’d you find him when the rest of the dragons couldn’t?” Aspen asked.

Rowan snorted. “Him?” Then he turned around. “Love, I think it’s time you revealed yourself.”

The black dragon rapidly shrunk into the most beautiful woman Hazel had ever seen.

“Skye?” Aspen looked at the girl with confusion.

“The one and only.” She waltzed over and put arm around Rowan’s waist. “Have we got a story to tell you.”
