"Okay, I'm confused." Sage said,
softly.

"We are all of these people, and much
more." The man's ghostly voice replied, booming through the yard.
"We are here to take care of this problem."

"Mom, Dad?" Sage asked. "Where have you
been?"

"We've been with you all along, Sage."
Her mother smiled, and then reached out with the blue light to
touch her hair, and at that moment, Sage knew they had
been.

"The voices." She whispered to herself,
and then smiled. "Why didn't you tell me about Justin?"

"You needed to find out about him on
your own, just like Justin needed scorn his own darkness before
this could all truly work, and David needed to find his own way out
of the darkness of the past, which meant bringing him back here.
You three are connected, and your child will be very powerful, but
what you have done tonight has changed your paths, we cannot
contact you anymore, but know that we will be here watching."
Slowly, as if they had never appeared, the blue light gradually
faded away, but the light around Victor grew more intense and his
screams, more terrifying, just before he burst into
flames.

Sage, Justin and David watched as he
also disappeared, taking his darkness with him, letting the stars
and the moon shined through, which Sage looked up at and
smiled.

"Hey?" David smiled, nudging her arm;
Sage looked over at him. "Are you all right?"

"Happy Halloween." She replied, raising
her eyebrows at him. Justin broke out laughing as the three of them
laid back on the soft grass.

The coffins were gone, and the grass
seemed unscathed by the blue lights last bit of explosive fire.
Waves of the ocean crashed loudly against the shore, where there
had been almost no noise at all two minutes before and the moon
brightened the surrounding area as if it were day. The wall that
seemed to hold the rest of the group captive on the porch broke,
letting the others free to join the three of them on the soft
grass, all but Julian, who looked to his side and smiled at the dim
outlines of the two spirits that stood there.

Douglas and Yvette looked solemnly at
him as Douglas began to speak. "Your tasks are done here,
Julian."

"I know, but their family." Julian
replied, sticking his hands in his pockets.

"Others need you." Yvette
whispered.

"When my family is settled, when the
children are born, then I will move on, but for now, I have to keep
watch over them."

"Do so wisely." Douglas answered then
smiled. "Not that you haven't done so yet."

"Until we meet again." Julian nodded,
as the two of them faded away. Julian turned and looked at Michael,
who had walked up to the porch; he looked oddly at Julian then
crossed his arms. "One day, I'll explain everything."

"Yeah, but with you, that could be
centuries from now." Michael replied.

"We'll see." He answered, looking up at
the moon then he walked down to the blonde haired man, and the two
of them walked out to the group that was waiting for
them.

Seven Months Later

The group looked up as the door to the
bedroom opened slowly and Bobby stepped out, followed closely by
Taryn. The two girls didn't look at anyone as they stepped aside
and looked towards the door. Justin walked out next, the quiet
little bundle in his arms didn't seem to move, until he stepped
closer to Michael, then it opened its eyes and looked at
him.

Michael stepped back a bit, overwhelmed
by the brightness and intelligence of the blue-eyed
creature.

"A name?" Cristian said, softly. "Did
you give him a name?"

"
Her
name is Rowan Marie." Justin
smiled, looking up at him.

"A girl?" Julian asked. Justin nodded.
"So much for the Kingdom of the Nine and their
predictions."

"They did say that we changed our paths
that night." David smiled. Michael turned to look at Julian, who
still hadn't explained the conversation he had walked in on and
Julian avoided his eyes.

"Your life was never written in stone,
anything, every choice we make changes the outcome." Julian
answered, then turned and looked at Quinn and Lauren. "Even the
choices we aren't conscious of making."

"What do you think he meant by that?"
Quinn said aloud as they watched Julian walk out of the
room.
