The
Body Thief
is the next
book in the Sydney Harbour Hospital Series.
Here’s a sneak peek:
A race against time…
Samantha Wolfe is no stranger to death. As a
senior forensic pathologist at the Department of Forensic Medicine
in Sydney, she’s lost count of the number of post mortems she’s
performed in the quest to find answers. But something strange is
happening in the Glebe morgue. The number of bodies coming through
with donated organs has surged upwards and there doesn’t appear to
be any valid reason for it.
Has the government’s initiatives to increase
the number of organ donors finally paid off, or is something far
more sinister at play? The more Sam delves into the mystery, the
more she’s certain evil lurks nearby.
Detective Sergeant Rohan Coleridge is put in
charge of the investigation and he’s not exactly happy about it.
The last time he spoke to Samantha Wolfe, they were both in college
and she accused him of walking out on his responsibilities. Taking
on the investigation means significant hours spent up close and
personal with her and he’s not sure if either of them will walk
away unscathed.
But the more Rohan investigates, the more
he’s convinced something is definitely amiss, but is the
perpetrator one of the doctors of the prestigious Sydney Harbour
Hospital, or is it someone far closer to home….?
The
Body Thief
will be
released on 27 December, 2015.
As usual, no book comes into being without a
lot of help and support by my friends and family. A world of thanks
must go to my friend and critique partner extraordinaire, Grace
Anselmo and to my editor, Pat Thomas. Thank you for your courage
and faith to entrust me with your story. My admiration for both of
you is without measure. This book is for you.
To Detective Superintendent Michael
Kilfoyle, thank you for lending my story credibility. Any mistakes
are wholly my own.
To Grady, Alisha and all of the staff at
damonza.com, thank you for yet another fantastic cover. To my
sister, Nicole Guihot and to my friend, Ally Thomson, thank you for
your excellent editorial comments, proof reading skills and
suggestions. I hope you like the final result.
To Amy Atwell and her dedicated staff at
Author EMS who are so much more than book formatters. Amy, once
again, thank you for your magic.
To the fantastic writer organizations such
as Romance Writers of Australia, Romance Writers of America and
Romance Writers of New Zealand for all the help, support and
encouragement they offer new and aspiring writers, including
me.
To my readers, thank you for your support
and love for my stories. Your encouragement and enjoyment make this
journey all worthwhile.
And lastly, to my friends and family,
especially my husband and children. Thank you for putting up with
late dinners and even later conversations as I’ve emerged day after
day from the sometimes scary but always enthralling world I’ve
created on my computer.
