After Grey was done with the kids he went toward his room and he could see his things out side his room. Floods of memories of his father and childhood came over him as he walked to his room. He hadn’t been here in years be being here he couldn’t help but think about Jill. In a way he wished that he could see her again, he didn’t know what he would ever say to her but he knew that he wanted to see her again. He got to his door and picked up his things. He opened the door the first thing that he noticed was that they kept his room just like he had it. They kept it clean and in order but it had all of the same stuff in it. He was so impressed with the room he didn’t notice Jill in the corner sitting at his old desk. He put his bags on the bed.
He looked around and saw her sitting there at his desk looking at him. At first he felt a strange heat come over him, cloaking him, and then he felt a black mass of hatred building and pushing down on him. Rationality was beginning to leave him and what ever sort of feelings he may have had in the hall was gone. Now with all the power he felt inside he tried to wish her out f existence so he looked down at the floor with the hope that when he looked up again she would be gone. But when he looked up she was still there just sitting there looking at him.
“Hello Grey.” Jill said looking up at him. He looked like she remembered maybe a little older. But he had old blue jeans on and a plain white dress shirt over a plain white under shirt. He looked good she thought, too good. She half expected him to be balding or over weight or something that would stop her from wanting him.
“I don’t know what to say, you shouldn’t be here. I don’t know if I can talk to you right now. I don’t know if I can ever talk to you. I… I… hate you. No you know what you stay here and I will leave.” Grey said as he went for his things. He turned and picked up his bags. Jill stood up and put her hand on his shoulder. He turned around and looked at her his emotions over whelming him, he stopped just sat down on his bed and buried his face in his hands. It was all he could do to stop from crying. Jill sat next to him.
“I want you to know that I shouldn’t have run out on you that day. I know that I don’t know why I did,” Jill said.
Grey got up off the bed and headed toward the doorway. He stopped “I have to be honest I don’t know why you ran out either. But I do know on thing I never stopped loving you. You are the only person who made me feel like I was home. You made my life complete when it wasn’t.” He looked at her and she could see the pain that she had caused him.
Jill knew at that point knew she loved him and never really stopped. She was about to say the only thing she could think of but little did she know it was the only thing he needed to hear.
“I’m sorry Grey, I love you.”
Jill wakes up from the sunlight coming through the window and the faint sound of people in her kitchen. Deciding to get up she puts on a robe and heads down the familiar but dark hall. On her way she steps on something hard sharp. She muffles her mouth with her own hand to stifle the profanities that she was about to yell out. As she rounds the corner the sounds get louder and the light gets brighter. She steps around the corner and before her eyes can focus Grey hands her a cup of coffee. Her vision comes to and she sees that her husband has already made breakfast for her twin boys Tim and Brodie. Grey comes from behind her and whispers in her ear “Five years, that’s the breakfast anniversary right?” She smiles and turns to give him a kiss. She looks up at him “thank you”.
