The Face That Launched A Thousand Bullets (The Cartel Publications Presents) (11 page)

Don’t worry, honey. We’re almost there.” She spoke in an angelic voice. He rested easy knowing that whoever she was, she would protect him. That’s all he needed to know at the time. And that’s all that mattered. Suddenly the car rocked and the woman who was once calm, appeared on edge.

          “
Oh, no!” she called out, scaring Shelton. “Shelton…I love you.”

The next thing he knew the car windows came caving in on them and the car rolled five or six times and his tooth broke against the door’s silver handle. And Nyzon woke up screaming.

“You okay, honey?” Angel, his babysitter asked as she lay horizontally in the bed, rubbing the sweat from his face. Angel watched him whenever his mother worked overtime at DC General Hospital as a nurse.

“I’m fine.” He sat up straight and looked at Angel’s eyes. His mouth was dry and parched and he felt slightly embarrassed.

She clicked on the lamp and handed him a cup of water sitting on his nightstand. He eyed the cute little red dress set she wore but more importantly her perky breasts which rose slightly from under it like fresh baked bread.

Gulping down half the water, he wondered if his mother told her about his constant nightmares and the fact that he didn’t know why he was having them.

“As long as you’re fine. You had me scared there for a minute. What were you dreaming about?”

“Nothin’.”

She could tell he didn’t want to talk about it and she left the matter alone. Instead she adjusted in the bed as if something was on her mind, and Nyzon noticed. He had it for her bad. She had beautiful chestnut-colored skin with the biggest tig-o-bitties he ever laid eyes on. Ironically “Let Me Love You Down,” by Ready For The World played on the radio.

“I understand you don’t want to talk about it.” Angel said looking up at him. “I bet all the girls like you at school.”

“Most of them.” He smiled unable able to look into her eyes. “Why you say that?”
“Cuz you cute and I know you know it.” She licked her lips and he looked away.
“I’m a’ight. You win some and lose some you know?” he said rubbing his hand over his waves.

Without notice, she sat up straight, reached in and pulled him to her, pressing her titties to his face in the process.

“What was that for?” Nyzon asked puzzled, not wanting her to let him go.

“That was just for bein’ you.” She responded pulling away. Something about the way she looked at him tonight was different. “Did you like it?”

He nodded yes. She hugged him again but tighter this time.

His heart beat like someone was using his body to play drums and he ran his hands down her back. He was a natural at his game.

“You ever kissed a girl before Nyzon?”

“Once or twice.”
“Wanna kiss me?”
Before he could answer she pressed her pouty lips against his. His eyes remained opened as he stared at her closed lids.
“Ummmmm.” She nodded her head in approval and smiled. “Nice. Real nice.”

“Thanks.” He shrugged his shoulders. He was desperately trying to be the Nyzon girls knew him for. All he could do was hope it was working. “I told you I kissed a girl.”

She giggled. “You were right and it was just like I thought. I know the girls love you.”

“I told you I do a’ight,” Nyzon said, feeding his ego.

“Wanna go all the way?” she asked.

“Wh…what you mean?” His eyes looked her over and he licked his dry lips.

“I said do you wanna go all the way with me?”

There was no way on earth his boys would believe this. He didn’t even believe it. He needed some proof. But the closest thing to evidence would mean using the fat ass brown tape recorder under his bed. If he pulled it out, she’d spot it from a mile away. He had to rely on his own memory for this one.

“Yeah…I do.” He wondered what all the way meant.

She lifted up her blouse and exposed her white bra. This was getting better by the second and he felt a strange sensation between his legs that he couldn’t describe. Placing one of his hands over her breasts, he quivered. And when he was ready, she placed his other one on the second. She dropped her head back and moaned giving him the impression she was enjoying herself. He wasn’t nervous like he thought he’d be. Until it finally happened.

“I see you watchin’ me Nyzon. Do you like watching me?”

Right now the only thing he was watching was titties.
He nodded yes.
“You wanna kiss them?”
His eyes widened as if he looked harder, he’d wake up from a dream.
“I don’t know.”

“Come on, Ny. Kiss them for me,” she urged. “If you kiss them good, I’ll kiss you back.”       It was settled. He was going to go all the way and if he failed, at least he tried. Nyzon placed his mouth on her nipples and kissed them like he’d kissed his mother’s cheek.

Angel giggled. “Open your mouth, Ny.” He did.
“Wider.”
He did.
“That’s it, Ny.” She approved. “Now use your tongue.”
He did but removed it quickly.
“No silly.” She giggled. “Keep it there and move it around and stuff. Like you sucking candy.”
He did.
“Mmmmmm. That’s nice, Ny. That’s real nice. Keep doin’ that.”

He wasn’t quite sure if he liked this part of it or not plus the uncomfortable feeling in his pants had gotten worse. His penis was as stiff as a rock. With all the pussies he fingered, he never got hard. And as if she knew, she reached her hand in his pajamas and touched it gently.

“I see you like me a lot.” She giggled.

How she know that?
He thought.

She constantly stroked him until he felt a wave come over him. His body shook as she moaned. He was afraid of what he was feeling, but at the same time, hoped the feeling wouldn’t go away.

With one last stroke she caused his wildest dreams to come true. It was a tingling sensation and it was the best feeling in the world. He fell into her chest with his mouth still open on her breast. He was stuck. She giggled again and moved him backward.

“You okay, Ny?” she said, adjusting her bra and pulling her shirt down.
Silence.
“That was nice wasn’t it?” She asked.
Silence and panting.

“If you keep our little secret,” she continued. “We can have fun every time I watch you. It will be just you and me. Would you like that?”

Silence.
“Ny.” Angel sounded a little concerned. He seemed stunned and she didn’t want him telling his mother. “Can you keep our secret?”
He nodded yes.
“Good.” She smiled wiping her hand over his forehead.
“Cause I like you. A lot.”
“I like you, too,” he answered, still coming off an emotional roller coaster.
“That’s good, Ny.” She said walking toward the door. “I hope you have sweet dreams now.”
He nodded again trying his best to maintain his cool.
He was about to let her leave when he remembered something. “Hey Angel, was that your boyfriend who dropped you off earlier?”
“In the Saab?”
“Naw…he ain’t even as cute as you.” She cooed. “Good night Ny, I’ll see you later.”

When she closed the door he sunk into his cozy bed reflecting on everything that happened. Prior to then he played with a few girls’ coochies but nothing serious. He had to make her his girl. He wasn’t even going to pursue Monesha, the girl he met in school anymore. He wanted Angel, and would stop at nothing to get her.

Carolyn Jamison

Washington D.C.

Like Daddy, Not Like Daughter

C
arolyn and her mother Judge Elizabeth Jamison, were walking on the chilly streets of Georgetown, shopping for fresh fruits and breads. Elizabeth wore a full-length black fur to combat the weather, and Carolyn wore a white, waist length cotton coat with matching gloves.

The streets were packed and the sound of cars driving up and down the wet streets resonated through the small town. Carolyn’s arm was looped inside of her mother’s while they walked side by side.

“So how’s school coming along?” Elizabeth asked as she peered through a few windows for something to catch her eye.

“It’s okay…but my Social Justice Professor who is black, hates my guts. At least I think so.” Carolyn rested her head on her mother’s shoulder as they strolled down the sidewalk.

“Nonsense, everyone likes you. And with as much money as your father and I have poured into that school, they should be in love with you.” She giggled at her own dry humor.

“Not her. It’s like she thinks I’m going to take all the black men or something. For instance, I requested to work with a partner in class for this project that requires me to work with this non profit organization called “Take Back The Streets”, and she gave me somebody I can’t stand to talk to, let alone work with as a partner.”

“Oh…well who’s the partner you wanted? I can make a call and it can happen.”
Carolyn hadn’t expected her mother to ask her that.
“Oh…he’s just a boy. Nothing serious. Don’t worry about it ma.”

“Is it, the Moore boy?” She stopped and gazed into her daughter’s eyes. “I hear he has an internship lined up with Jenkins and Tony’s already. Do you know that company generates over 20 billion dollars in revenue a year?” she said rubbing her daughter’s hand. “He’ll be set for the rest of his life.”

“Oh…yeah…he’s the one,” Carolyn lied. “Well anyway she asked the class who we wanted to work with and I made my selection and instead of honoring it, she gave me some rude ass loud mouthed black girl instead.”

“Well you know how it is, Carolyn. You just have to remember what your father says. We have to do what we must to blend in. It’ll sharpen your skills to disguise what you really feel because as much as I hate to admit it, niggers aren’t going anywhere. We just have to make more opportunities for good white folk.”

“I know…it’s just frustrating sometimes.”

“It’s an outrage! Laws are being made everyday for niggers. Imagine if people knew I was married to your father, and he was the head of KYC? I wouldn’t be a states judge and they’d probably throw me behind bars. So I play my position sweetheart and you must too.”

Elizabeth did do an excellent job concealing her feelings. Having been a states judge for ten years, no one would’ve known she was a racist. Still she used her powers on many occasions to sentence people of other races to the harshest of sentences even when it wasn’t warranted.

“Just play the game and watch how things will change for the city once Kirk is elected Mayor. You’ll see.”

They stopped in front of a bakery and looked through the window. “Awww…fresh sourdough bread! It’ll be perfect for the shrimp Alfredo I’m making tonight. Let’s go in dear.”

“Give me a second mamma.” Carolyn said stopping in her tracks.

“Okay, dear.” She said looking her over wondering why she wanted to be alone. “I’ll see you inside.”

Once out of her mother’s view, she reached into her purse and grabbed a flask filled with Vodka, downed it and licked her lips. Thinking about her family and how much they differed, troubled her. She knew her mother was right even if she didn’t share the total hatred to blacks her parents did. Gulping what was left in her flask, she walked into the store and stood by her mother’s side.

The van ride from D.C. to Baltimore was longer than Carolyn preferred. She sat alone in the back seat with her knees uncomfortably pressed against the front seats.

When the car made it to a rundown residential area in Baltimore city, where they had to work, Carolyn gasped when she saw how different the neighborhood looked based on where she lived.

“Here we are,” Tina said as they parked in front of some row houses on liberty road. “All we have to do is pass out this literature and remind the kids about basketball camp next year. It shouldn’t take more than fifteen or twenty minutes.”

Carolyn was zoned out looking at the rundown environment.
