The Evil Twin? (9 page)

“Don’t stop,” I panted, grabbing his hair.

“Vinnie, where is Meghan?” I heard my aunt’s voice through the door.

“She is at Lisa’s for a sleepover,” I managed to respond in a steady voice.

“Okay, goodnight!!”

Reyan continued to run his tongue through my folds, and I spread out wide for him.

“You taste so good,” he mumbled and added, “I can’t stop even if you want me to.”

“Reyan, stop teasing me. Just fuck me!!”

“Not so fast. I want you to come for me.”

I moaned and called out his name as his lips found mine. I felt his thumb on my clit and his fingers entered me with ease. He moved his fingers in and out while his thumb circulated on my clit, dragging me down an abyss of pleasure. I felt the surge of sensations clash as my inner muscles tightened around his fingers, and my body shuddered as I peaked letting out my release.

I lay in his arms, my hair a mess and a bigger mess on the inside. I felt secure in his arms in spite of feeling exposed and vulnerable.

“I know you want more, but you won’t get it until you ask for it.”

“I want more,” I hissed.

“Look at me, Vinnie!!” he commanded.

My eyes flew open and met intense brown eyes as Reyan looked at me with a primitive need in his eyes.

“Say my name and tell me what you want.”

I groaned when I felt his lips on my jawline.

“Reyan, I want you!!”

“I know you want me, you are not getting me yet.”

“What an ass. You make me beg, and I don’t get what I want?” I flared.

“That’s because you made my balls ache from the day I laid eyes on you.”

“You’re sick!!”

“I’ve been sick of waiting to do this to you,” he said pulling my dress over my head leaving me in a thin slip. He ran his palms over the straps and pulled both of them off my shoulders. I arched my body as he framed one nipple with his lips while he held the other one between his thumb and index finger. I grabbed the seam of his shirt and pulled it up to run my palms over his bare back. I clung to him as he nipped, lapped, and sucked on my nipples shifting from one to the other.

I traced one palm down his back and reached around for the button on his jeans. I heard him grunt as I slipped my trembling fingers past the waistband of his jeans. I flattened my palm on his erection and felt the heat radiate through the thin material of his boxers.

His erection was thick, and I knew instantly that he was bigger than all the guys I had been with. I wanted him to fill me, hit the deepest part of me, and to drive me over the edge.

Reyan pulled back from my nipple and chuckled.

“You like what you found down there?”

“Maybe...”

He reached for my wrist and yanked my hand out of his jeans.

“You don’t get to touch if you are not a fan.”

I smiled looking into his eyes in response to the wicked look on his face. I pulled him onto me and took my lips to his.

“You don’t get to decide when to start and when to stop,” I snarled as I dug my teeth into his ear.

I felt a shudder run through him and he collapsed on me bringing his weight to crush me just like I wanted him to. I wrapped my legs around him when his mouth claimed mine again with the same intensity.

I ran my palms on his tight ass to bring his arousal to crash against my mound.

“C’mon, Reyan!! What are you waiting for?”

He rolled off me chuckling and lay on the bed on his back.

“You owe me one now,” he said winking at me and added, “you know what that means.”

I glowered at him as he ran his palm on my breast. I slapped away his hand and pulled my bra straps back over my shoulders.

“Don’t be mad, Vinnie. I want more than a one night stand.”

I reached for the coffee and sat on the bed, leaned against the headboard and looked at him in silence.

Reyan reached forward and placed his head in my lap and said, “You are the most interesting person I have ever met, and I want more from you.”

“You barely know me. You are just thinking with your dick.”

His eyes twinkled and he laughed sending jolts of energy through my body. I took a deep breath to calm my beating heart and smiled at him.

“Where do we go from here?” I asked smiling at him.

“I don’t want to think about that now, I just want you in my arms tonight.” He pulled me to him, crushing my chest with his arms around me.

Chapter 9

“Vinnie, open the bathroom door,” Meg called out and added impatiently, “mom is using her bathroom.”

I rolled off the bed and reached for my underwear and my leggings. I opened my closet and reached for a t-shirt and slipped it over my head. Reyan was nowhere in sight. I didn’t expect him to stay and knew he would be gone before I woke up.

I slipped under the sheets after letting Meg into the bathroom and pulled the sheets over my head. Reyan’s cologne lingered on the sheets, and I knew at that point that I let things get too far between him and me. He wasn’t the kind of guy that was easy to forget.

I shut away all my thoughts and tried to catch up on my sleep when I heard the lock on my door turn. I threw the sheets back and looked at the door in horror. The door to my room and the bathroom door on my side of the room opened at the very same time, and I stayed frozen under the sheets.
Shit!!!!

Reyan came through the entrance holding a tray with two cups of coffee and Meg stepped into my room from the bathroom.

“Good morning!! Lovely ladies,” Reyan said as he closed the door and put my keys back on the side table. Meg stood at the entrance to the bathroom shell shocked to see Reyan in my room.

“Hi Reyan, what are you doing here?” Meg was completely confused. She kept looking at me as if she was trying to figure out what was really happening.

Reyan placed the coffee on the side table and came towards the bed. He placed one knee on my bed and leaned forward and planted a kiss on my lips.

“Reyan, did you spend the night here?” Meg asked her lips curving up in a smile.

Reyan and I spoke at the same time, and I said ‘no’ and he said ‘yes’.

“Vinnie, there is nothing to hide from Meg,” Reyan said softly.

“Are you two like a thing now?” she asked with excitement in her voice.

I refused to speak not knowing what to say as I was still digesting the fact that Reyan came back with coffee. He smiled at Meg and said, “I don’t know yet.”

“When did you guys get home last night?” she asked with a wicked grin.

“Meg, you were supposed to be at Lisa’s place!!” I sat up in bed as Reyan collapsed on the bed next to me.

“She had a yoga thing at six so I came back home,” she said rolling her eyes and added, “It’s not like I asked you if you guys slept together,” she whined as she turned to leave.

Reyan started to laugh, and Meg turned around with an amused look on her face. I glowered at her hoping she would keep walking but that didn’t stop her. “So you did sleep together.”

“Meg, that’s enough. Lock the door on your way out,” I snarled.

“Sure, you can have the bathroom for yourself. I will use mom’s bathroom,” she giggled, winking at Reyan.

Reyan continued to chuckle even after Meg left, and his chuckles subsided when he saw the grim expression on my face.

“I don’t want you discussing anything about us with Meg,” I warned him.

“Are you acknowledging that there is something between us?” he mocked.

I bit my tongue and did not respond. He leaned forward and brushed his lips to mine and said, “I brought you coffee.”

“Thanks!!” I took the coffee from him and added, “I didn’t think you were coming back.”

“Sorry to disappoint you.” He wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me to him. I gasped when I felt his stubble on my neck.

“Reyan, we got carried away last night. Let’s not do that again.”

“Really?” he mocked.

“Yes!!”

“Fine, I won’t do anything until you ask me to or if you want to do something.”

“Good!! Now what?” I asked turning to look at him.

“You still think I am thinking with my dick?” he asked, and I blushed when I heard him repeat my statement.

“I have no other plausible explanation for…” I stopped mid-sentence when Reyan shook his head.

“I am guilty of thinking with my dick in the past but not with you, Vinnie!!” he said firmly.

“You and I barely know each other. I know more about Annie than I know about you,” I said softly.

“I don’t need to know anything about you. I am going with my gut feeling for a change.”

“That’s pretty odd for a numbers guy,” I observed.

“So you do know what I do?” he latched on.

“Annie mentioned something about what you guys do, but you know nothing about me. The more you know about me, the less you’ll want to hang out with me,” I snapped.

“I don’t need to know anything else about you. I know what I need to know.”

“Like what?” I countered.

“You are the girl that got into the ambulance for a stranger. That’s good enough for me,” he said flatly.

“It doesn’t mean anything. I could be a total bitch and you wouldn’t know.”

“It doesn’t matter, you have a good heart and that’s what matters,” he declared.

“Fine, suit yourself!!”

He looked at me in silence for a few seconds and said, “I need you to think about us. I am travelling all week and will be back on Saturday.”

“Reyan…I don’t need to think about it. I don’t have the mindset to be involved with anyone, seriously or casually,” I said adamantly.

“You look hot when you lie through your teeth. I want to spank you for that, but I won’t until you ask me to,” he said, his words triggering dirty pleasure in me.

I glared at him and pulled the sheets over my shoulder. Reyan reached for his coffee on the end table and froze.

“Now what?” I asked surprised with his reaction.

He set his coffee back on the end table and reached for the book that was on the table. My mom’s favorite author wrote the book, and over the years I had started to enjoy the author’s work.

“Where did you get this book from?” Reyan’s voice was barely audible.

I chuckled at his expression and said, “Well, this company called Amazon has been selling books online for a while now.”

“That’s not what I meant. This is an Indian author,” he insisted.

“Nandini Singhal was my mom’s favorite author. I started reading this book after the accident to...” My voice trailed off with the pain, and Reyan wrapped his arms around me and brought his lips to my temple. He rocked me in his arms while I steadied myself.

“My mom used to read her books and end up crying unable to handle the sorrow that’s portrayed in the stories,” I said putting my arms around Reyan and flattened my cheek on his chest.

This woman has been through a loss, and I can feel the sadness in every story she writes
. There is
so much pain the characters go through, and I found solace in knowing they were able to overcome the pain,
” I managed to say without losing my voice.

“Do you want to meet her?” Reyan asked after being awfully quite for sometime.

I pulled back a little to look at him. “Meet who? Nandini Singhal?” I couldn’t contain my excitement when he nodded with a weak smile on his face.

“Reyan, I would love to but…”

“She is a good friend of my mom, and she usually visits us when she is on her book tours,” he said, looking at me.

“Shut the front door…seriously?” I could not believe it.

“Yes, I will take you to meet her next time she is in the area.” He promised.

“That is so cool!!” I tightened my hold around him and took my lips to his for a quick brush. His breath quickened and his fingers gripped my hair as his lips came crushing down on mine. He rolled on to me on the bed, and I rejoiced with his weight on me. I tightened my hold around his neck and sucked on his lower lip.

“All this for an author interview?” Reyan rasped against my lips.

“For my favorite author, I would let you do anything to me,” I teased running my tongue on his lower lip.

“That’s just evil!!” Reyan said pulling back and added, “It’s a good thing the author is a woman; if it were a dude, I would be after his life.”

“You are too silly for a…how old are you anyway?” I asked not realizing how much older he was than me.

“Does it matter?” he nuzzled my neck.

“Yes, I am not into older guys.”

He held me tightly, pinning my arms to my sides and said, “Older guys know how to set a woman on fire.”

I tried to wiggle out of his hold, laughing as Reyan tickled my ear with his stubble.

“I agree, older guys are hot but how much older are you than me?”

Reyan laughed and said, “I am twenty-five.”

“I am almost twenty-three.”

“I know when your birthday is...” he chuckled.

“You ran a background check on me?”

“The birthdate on your public records is not your real birthdate,” he said with confidence.

“What the heck? How do you know that?” I was surprised he knew my parents had entered my birthdate incorrectly when they moved from India and never corrected it.

Reyan laughed but did not respond.

“C’mon Reyan. How do you know, I need to know.” I shook him grabbing on to his shirt.

“You are smart, you will figure out,” he said smiling at me.

“Stop saying that. I didn’t even make it to college.”

He cupped his palms around my face, “
I haven't met a girl as smart as you are, and I am intrigued.”

“Really?” I poked my tongue at him.

“Yes, you are full of surprises.”

“Flattery is not getting you anything mister,” I laughed pulling away from him.

“I want you to think about us,” he said, his voice shifting to a firm tone.

“About?”

“I am going to be away for a week on business, and I will give you your space. When I get back on Saturday, I want to know if you are wiling to give ‘us’ a shot,” he declared looking into my eyes.

“Hmm…if I don’t want to give this a shot?”

Reyan got off the bed and adjusted his shirt, looking at me. “You’ll never see me again. I won’t interfere with your life.”

My mouth went dry at the very thought of not seeing him again.

“Why do you have to say such things, Reyan? Why can’t we be friends if things don’t workout?” I pleaded.

“Being friends with you is not something I am interested in,” he said sternly.

I rolled out of bed and walked over to where he was standing and stood with my arms to my side. My body twitched to reach out and touch him, hug him, and be held by him.

Reyan reached out and ran his thumb along my lower lip and said, “I know you want me. I know you want to be with me, but I want you to win that battle with yourself before you come to me.”

“When will I see you?” I shut down the inner voices and put my arms around him and took my lips to his.

He kissed me back gently and said, “I will be back on Saturday morning. Are you working that night?”

“Yes, my monthly event.”

“I’ll see you on Saturday. Can we go to my place after?”

“I don’t go to guy’s places. We can come back here,” I said softly.

“You will need to learn to trust me,” he urged.

I looked at him in silence and felt the blow from his statement deep inside. He knew why I wanted to hold back, he knew things about me that the other guys I have been with never bothered to find out.

“I’ll see you on Saturday.” I hugged him, feeling my heart sink into my stomach. I knew I had feelings for Reyan but wanted to ignore them. He was a distraction but I knew he wasn’t like any other guy, and he was important and I needed to figure out why.

“I am so excited to go shopping with you Vinnie!!” Annie got out of Neel’s car and hugged me.

“Me too, Annie. Hey there fake boyfriend,” I said winking at Neel.

“I am sure you are because I am the one paying for the stuff,” Neel snorted.

“Neel, it was part of the deal. You have to pay for everything because Vinnie is your fake girlfriend and you need to pay for mine so I keep my mouth shut,” Annie snapped.

Neel grumbled but did not say anything.

“Nice ride, Neel,” I complimented, looking around at the brand new BMW coupe. Annie slipped into the tight back seat of the car and offered up the front passenger seat for me.

Annie, Neel, and I chatted on our way to the Indian boutique for Neel’s brother’s wedding shopping that was coming up in less than two weeks. I enjoyed spending time with Neel and Annie, but my thoughts kept going back to Reyan. He had kept his side of the bargain and had not called me in three days. I had pulled up his number a few times in the past few days but decided against calling him.

I knew I wanted to be with him and in his arms all day and all night, but I didn’t know if he would want me when he found out about the demons of the past. I may not have any complications going forward, but I lost my high school boyfriend when he found out about me. The guy that I thought I was going to grow old with did not want anything to do with me, and I couldn’t expect any different behavior from other men.
