“Are you saying you don’t want me,” he grumbled, hitting my clit with the tip of his erection sending quakes of pleasure through my body.
“No…” I said, my eyes rolling shut as he teased me with the pink tip of his virility.
“Vinnie, look at me,” he ordered triggering a rebellion thought in my mind. I opened my eyes and looked into his enigmatic eyes and challenged his tone with my stare.
“Yeah baby, burn me like that,” he encouraged as he continued to tease my folds.
“I want you Reyan, and you know that. Why are you teasing me?” I snarled.
“I wanna know how badly you want me.”
“I want you to fill me to the point where I explode,” I rasped taking his hot hard erection into my hands. I wiped off the moisture at the tip and started stroking him. “I want you to fuck me till you spill every single drop of your warm goodness inside me.”
“What about your party prep?” he groaned stretching out my lower lip between his teeth.
“I am sure Annie will understand,” I gasped leading his head to my swollen hot folds and let go when he thrust into me.
“Shit!!” I gasped when his hot and thick hardness entered me sending out a pain signal to my brain.
“Baby, just say stop if you don’t want this.”
“Don’t stop, I will kill you if you stop now,” I warned in a shaky voice looking into his eyes and saw them gleam. He ran his palm on my back and gently lowered me to the counter flattening my back against it with his weight. He inroad slowly with deeper shoves, and I let go of my hands losing control of them when he tugged on my nipple with his teeth.
I gripped the edge of the island with one hand and traced the other hand along his chest.
“Rub your clit for me baby,” he demanded making me moan.
“Do it for me baby,” he pleaded as he pounded harder and harder and added, “I want you to come with me.”
I took my fingers to my throbbing clit and started rubbing it gently enjoying the sensation, but it was nowhere close to when Reyan did his magic.
“I suck at that…I just want you to fuck me,” I complained.
He placed his palm over my fingers bringing on the added pressure I needed to set my body on fire. When my fingers started to rub my clit under his expert direction, I trembled with the pangs of pleasure ripping through me, the uncontrollable passion with which Reyan was pleasuring me while working on setting off an explosion from inside.
I cried out his name, my voice barely a whisper; my body shook uncontrollably and went limp when he peaked.
Reyan groaned, pulsating inside me watching me lay on the counter, hair sprawled on the island, my body taking in the multiple peaks as he continued to ride me slowly.
“That was wicked,” I said looking at him as his palms ran over my chest caressing my breasts.
Reyan grinned with pride pulling me off the counter into his arms to take my lips to his.
“Are you ready to ‘bake a cake’ with me, again?” he teased running his lips to my ear lobe.
I laughed and said looking into his eyes, “Do you prefer that I fight you or not fight you before I give in?”
“I want you to fight me baby, you’ve got so much work to do tonight,” he challenged.
“Bring it on!!” I said opening up my neck for his invasion.
Chapter 18
Reyan: Leaving now babe, see you in 15
Me: Almost done!!
I smiled placing the phone on the vanity in the bathroom on Friday night. I couldn’t wait to go back to my favorite restaurant with my favorite person.
I gave myself one final inspection and could not find a single flaw with the way I looked; I usually had a long list of criticism for either the way my outfit was or just my overall look. I looked at myself wondering if that’s what it meant to be happy. The last five months went by so fast that I wanted to take a pause so I could stay in Reyan’s arms forever.
“Forever? Is that even possible?” I asked looking at the reflection in the mirror. I wanted to believe forever was possible when the old Vinnie would not even utter the word. I ran my palms along the gold belt that cinched the waistline of my eggplant colored silk sleeveless maxi dress. Reyan had brought home that dress when he returned from a business trip, and I couldn’t think of a better occasion to wear it.
I took the time to put on makeup remembering the tips and tricks Annie had given me earlier that day, and ten minutes later I could not wait to see Reyan’s beautiful face. I grabbed my gold shimmer clutch and a black translucent material cardigan just in case it got chilly later that night.
I heard the dull rumbling of the idling Ferrari engine through the elevator doors and smiled knowing he was waiting for me.
My heart started to race just at the thought of seeing him and when the door opened, my heart almost leaped out of my chest.
Is this what it meant to love someone? Is it possible for me to love someone?
Every time I had heard Kelly Rowland say, ‘No matter what I do, all I think about is you’, I had rolled my eyes but now I would sing along thinking of the man who taught me how to feel alive by letting go, be reckless and feel secure and most of all, teaching me to feel secure even in my most vulnerable moments.
The elevator doors opened and my eyes met longing brown eyes that danced at the sight in front of them.
“Oooh, aren’t you a sight for sore eyes?” Reyan grinned reaching out to wrap his arms around my waist and brushed his lips against mine.
“You don’t look too bad yourself,” I teased looking up at him. He was wearing a black silk shirt with medium wash jeans and looked as rugged as any man can be.
“You look so tasty. I want to lick you right here, but I have been warned to keep my hands off your face and enjoy the view.” He ran his fingers through my hair.
I laughed, shaking my head knowing exactly why he was given that advice and by whom.
“Annie coached me for my makeup tonight.”
“I get it now!!” he smiled.
Ten minutes later, we pulled up in front of the Ferry Building. I waited as Reyan walked over to my side to open the door for me. In the few seconds it took him to walk around the car, I caught at least a dozen wandering eyes staring at Reyan. I felt jealousy brew inside me and when Reyan opened the door for me, I made it a point to kiss him on his lips to mark my territory.
He chuckled as if he knew why I reached out to kiss him, and then it hit me that I acted irrationally as there was no need for me to show all the women that he was mine. He had told me he was mine and expressed his love. I couldn’t get myself to utter the words that I know he has wanted to hear from the day he took me on the yacht.
Will it be tonight that I express my feelings?
“Reyan, I am so excited about tonight,” I whispered as we walked towards the restaurant from the valet post.
“Glad to hear that sweetheart.”
“Can we do a repeat of last night tonight as well?” I nuzzled against his neck.
“As long as you can handle it baby,” he chuckled planting to kiss on my temple.
“You know I can!!”
“Game on!!”
Thirty minutes and four amazingly innovative dishes later, I sat in front of Reyan unable to handle the sensations on my tongue.
“Best food ever!!” I declared taking a sip of my wine.
“Dessert?”
“My tongue wants it but my tummy doesn’t have room for it.”
“There’s always room for cotton candy,” he urged.
“You are such a bad influence.” I licked my lips winking at him.
“You are way hotter when you are being a bad girl.”
I laughed looking around to make eye contact with our waitress to order the cotton candy. As my eyes wandered, I caught a woman in her late fifties or early sixties looking at me like she couldn’t believe her eyes.
“Here we go again,” I whispered leaning in closer to Reyan.
“What’s up baby?” he asked softly.
“I guess I have been spotted by my doppelganger’s friend or family, and that woman cannot take her eyes off my face,” I giggled.
“Where is the woman?” he asked looking to his right.
“It’s hard for you to see them because she is sitting right behind you, facing me and they are a few tables away.”
“Ignore them!!”
“That’s exactly what I have done, but I am just curious about this person; all these random people seem to know the person who happens to look just like me,” I whined.
“Have you had people mistake you for someone else recently?” he asked his voice surprisingly grim.
“Not after Neel’s brother’s wedding. It was his aunt who thought I volunteered at the Indian community center,” I said taking another sip of wine.
“Great!! Now the man at the table is leaning over and looking at me,” I said annoyed.
“Ignore them baby.”
“It’s probably hard to ignore them when they are walking towards your table while staring at you,” I said giggling fully aware that the elderly woman was only a few feet away from our table.
“What the…” Reyan started to say and his voice died when he turned to look at the woman who was approaching us.
I looked in utter surprise when the woman shifted her eyes from me to look at Reyan and utter his name.
“Mom…Oh, hi Dad,” Reyan said in a shaky voice as he stood up to give the elderly couple a hug. My heart took a nosedive into my stomach when I realized the elderly couple was his parents. I sat as if I was stuck to my seat with super glue not knowing how to react.
Reyan looked visibly shaken and his mom was literally in tears, and I could not tell if they were tears of joy or of sadness.
“Mom and Dad, this is Vinnie, my girlfriend.”
His mom took a step forward, and I stretched my hand out only to have it brushed aside as she put her arms around me sobbing uncontrollably.
“Nandi!!!” she cried holding on to me.
I looked at Reyan not knowing what to do and how to react, but I felt my arms wrap around the elderly woman as I comforted her without knowing what I was comforting her for.
“Ma, you need to stop,” Reyan took his mom by her shoulders to take her into his arms.
“How long have you known and how could you not tell us?” his mom demanded visibly upset with him.
“Dad, please take mom home and Mom, I will explain everything. I do not want you to tell anybody. I mean nobody should know about this yet.”
“Why, Reyan? You know how much pain she has been in for all these years,” his mom asked not letting it go.
“Ma, I am not discussing this here. I will come home this weekend,” Reyan said firmly and added, “Dad, you should take her home.”
Reyan’s dad stretched his arm out and said, “Nice to meet you, Vinnie.”
“Same here, Mr. Bhatia.” My mind was on autopilot as it raced, replaying the last few minutes over and over again trying to make some sense out of the conversation. I felt my brain go into overdrive trying to connect all the dots that seemed to be connected.
I sat in silence throughout the ten-minute drive home after Reyan suggested we go home and talk before I started asking any more questions.
“Sweetheart, I want you to trust me and let me explain everything. Can I please get you to change into something comfortable before we start talking?” he took my hand in his from behind as I stepped into living room of the luxury apartment that was my home.
“Reyan, stop treating me like a baby. I can handle it, and I need you to tell me what the fuck is happening starting this second.”
“Got it!!”
“Where do you want me to start?” his voice was wobbly.
“Who the heck is Nandi?” I went straight to the burning question, as that was the only word that connected back to a random stranger addressing me with the same name months ago when I was working at Starbucks.
“Nandi is...Nandi is a name and it’s your name,” he said softly.
“What the fuck, Reyan. That doesn’t make any sense,” I snarled unable to make any sense out of his statement.
“Baby, please sit down,” he pleaded taking me by my elbow to set me down on the sectional in the living area.
“Do not baby me, Reyan Bhatia. What is really going on here and how is it that you know something about me that I had no clue about?”
“It’s complicated.”
“Try me. I am not a dumb ass. I think I understand English,” I glared at him impatiently.
He shook his head and let his body flop down on the sectional as he undid a button on his shirt.
“Vinnie, you have family back in India. Your parents adopted you when you were a baby,” he said in a calm tone.
I felt the words turn into a spear slitting through my heart. My mind went blank, and I took a deep breath when I felt my lungs fighting for air.
“I rehearsed a million times in my head over the past few months as to how I would tell you what I know, but I guess this is it.” He shook his head looking at me.
“It doesn’t make sense Reyan, my parents did not adopt me. I am their daughter, and they are my real parents.”
“Vinnie, they are your parents, and I am sure they loved you till the day they died, but they are not your biological parents.” Reyan’s voice was very soft, but I could tell he was having a tough time holding his cool just as I was struggling to stop myself from screaming at the top of my lungs about how everything was fucking crazy.
I ran my fingers through my hair unable to put any of the pieces of information together.
“I think it’s a huge mistake. I don’t think it’s me that people are looking for but my doppelganger. She is the one that’s adopted not me; we need to find her and give her back to her family,” I said, a slight relief coming.
“Sweetheart, its not a doppelganger, you have a twin sister…you had a twin sister!!”
“What?” My voice was a half scream.
My body trembled and my mind refused to let his sentence sink in and be processed. I sat looking at him with no emotion or reaction and leaned back against the backrest of the sectional. He moved close to me and wrapped his arms around me and rocked me gently.
“I am so sorry sweetheart, this is not how I envisioned telling you all this. I don’t know how else to tell you all this.” His voice was muffled in my hair.
I gently pushed him away to look into his eyes and asked, “What do you mean I
had
a twin sister?”
“She…she died in a car accident about two years ago.”
My twin I never knew existed, the twin I wasn’t convinced is actually my twin but hearing about this stranger die in a car accident made my heart weep in pain, the all too familiar pain.
I took a deep breath fighting back tears and said; “A guy and his girlfriend saw me at Starbucks a few months ago and looked at me like they saw a ghost. They asked me if my name was Nandi.”
“They probably were friends of your twin sister and knew she had passed away.” He looked more shaken than I felt on the inside.
“What about all these random people that were asking about me, including your mom?” My voice was steady in spite of the turbulence on the inside.
“Your mom, I mean your biological mother, and my mom are childhood friends. Your mother has been looking for you for over a year now and…” he stopped when he saw my body tremble and said, “We don’t have to talk about this now. This is too much information for tonight.”
“Reyan, I do not want you to stop. I need to hear it, and I am not convinced that I have family outside San Francisco,” I declared.
“Vinnie...I don’t know how to tell you this without overwhelming you with the details. What do you want to know?”
“What is the name of the girl that died in an accident?” I asked sternly.
“Your twin’s name was Nandana.”
“Reyan, I am not convinced I have or had a twin. I just want your answers to be objective.”
He nodded gloom taking over his expression.
“Oh…then why did that couple at Starbucks ask me if I was Nandi?”
“Nandi is the short form of her name, the short form of her name was your name...”
“Reyan, objective responses, please!!!”
“Okay, sorry.”
“These people from India, why did they give up their child for adoption?” I asked feeling the pain deepen in the pit of my stomach making me nauseous.
