More than anything, I want to congratulate you for made decision to breastfeed your baby by yourself. There is so much happy and fulfill with breastfeeding and you will be so proud of yourself once you have succeeded. This book contains all basic knowledge, proven steps and all strategies on how to successfully breastfeed your child.

 

Breastfeeding is a very natural for mothers to do but unfortunately, it is not instinctive. Many mothers, especially first time moms, worry how to perfect the baby’s latch on the breast, sometimes, they feel pain while feeding the baby and they think that they don’t have enough milk for. The truth is, they simply lack the information and support every breastfeeding mother should have.

 

At the first, mothers need this book for breastfeed their child successfully. If you are serious about giving your child the best nutrition in the world, that will be firm about breastfeeding is the best at least for the first 6 months of life and continue on with nutritious supplementary feeding. What is the Breast Milk?

Breast milk is the milk produced by the bosoms of a human female for her newborn child posterity. Milk is the essential wellspring of sustenance for babies before they able to eat and digest the other foods, more seasoned newborn children and little children may keep on being breastfed, either solely or in mix with the other foods.

 

Breast milk is a unique combination of nutrients essential to a child's health, and cannot be duplicated by any laboratory formula. It provides a number of health advantages beginning at birth and continuing throughout a child's life. In fact, a large number of the health problems today's children face might be decreased, or even prevented, by breastfeeding the infant exclusively for at least the first six months of life. For mothers, breastfeeding helps with recovery from pregnancy and childbirth and provides lifelong health advantages.

 

For children, breastfeeding supports optimal development and chronic illness and also protects against acute.

 

For society, breastfeeding provides economy’s rank and environmental rewards.

 

 

Breastfeeding Benefits for Mothers:

 
  • Reduces the risk of breast and ovarian cancer. Women who breastfeed reduce their risk of developing breast and ovarian cancer. The reduction in cancer risk comes in proportion to the cumulative lifetime duration of breastfeeding. That is, the more months a woman has spent breastfeeding, the greater the beneficial effect. The reason is that estrogen levels are lower during lactation. It is thought that the less estrogen available to stimulate the lining of the uterus and perhaps breast tissue also, the less the risk of these tissues becoming cancerous.
 
  • Breastfeeding reduces osteoporosis. The breastfeeding women have a four times less chance of developing osteoporosis than Non-breastfeeding women.
 
  • Breastfeeding will reduce the risk of anemia by delaying the return of the menstrual cycle for 20 to 30 weeks.
 
  • Benefits child spacing. Since breastfeeding delays ovulation, the longer a mother breastfeeds the more she is able to practice natural child spacing, if she desires. How long a woman remains infertile depends on her baby’s nursing pattern and her own individual baby.
 
  • Mothers who breastfeed are more likely to return to their pre pregnancy weight than mothers who formula feed. Breastfeeding reduces the risk for long-term obesity. Breastfeeding mothers tend to have an earlier return to their pre-pregnant weight.
 
  • Breastfeeding also benefits mother's mind. Studies show that breastfeeding mothers show less postpartum anxiety and depression than do formula-feeding mothers moreover mothers will enjoy a quicker recovery after childbirth, with reduced risk of postpartum bleeding.
 
  • The most important thing about breastfeeding is the feelings of attachment between a mother and her child.
 
  • Breastfeeding offers benefit for children that cannot be duplicated by any other form feeding. The benefits of breastfeeding begin from the first moments after childbirth and last for many years after breastfeeding. Compared with formula-fed children, those who are breastfed are healthier and shorter illnesses when they do get sick and have fewer symptoms.

 

 

Breastfeeding Benefits for children:

 

 
  • Breastfeeding strengthens the immune system. During nursing, the mother passes antibodies to the child, who help children resist diseases and help improve the normal immune response to certain vaccines.
 
  • Lower decrease in the probability of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).
 
  • Another apparent benefit from breastfeeding is protection from infectious illnesses and their symptoms and allergies. (eg. Diarrhea and ear infections)
 
  • Lower risk of juvenile onset diabetes and inflammatory bowel diseases, suffer less often from some forms of cancer
 
  • Children who were breastfed have the higher IQ score than children who were formula fed.
 
  • Respiratory illness are significantly protected against asthma and eczema in mother milk fed children.
 
  • Significant evidence suggests that breast-fed children develop fewer psychological, behavioral and learning problems as they grow older. Studies also indicate that cognitive development is increased among children whose mothers choose to breastfeed.

 

For premature infants, human milk:

• Significantly shortens length of hospital stay

 

• reduces hospital costs

 

• hastens brainstem maturation

 

• reduces the risk of life-threatening disease of the gastrointestinal system and other infectious diseases

 

 

Social and Economic Benefits

Breastfeeding offers society not only improved health of children and mothers but also economic and environmental benefits.

The benefits of breastfeeding go beyond health considerations. Mothers who nurse their children enjoy social and economic advantages as well. For example:

 

• Women who breastfeed avoid the financial burden of buying infant formula, an average expense of $800 per year.

 

• Breast-fed babies are less likely to need excessive medical attention as they grow. In one study, a group of formula-fed infants had $68,000 in health care costs in a six-month period, while an equal number of nursing babies had only $4,000 of similar expenses

 

 

 

 

 

Breast Milk Facts

Breast milk is an amazing substance that cannot be duplicated by any artificial means. Unique in its composition and function, breast milk:

• contains an ideal balance of nutrients that the infant can easily digest

• changes over time, and even over the course of a day, to meet the changing needs of the growing child

• contains substances essential for optimal development of the infant’s brain, with effects on both cognitive and visual function9

• supplies growth factors that combine to mature the infant gut

• provides the infant with immune factors manufactured to fight allergens and illnesses specific to the mother’s and infant’s environment
