Candy collapsed on Jack. She laid on his
sweaty chest for a good moment listening to his fast beating heart.
She then lifted off, kissed him once on the lips and got off. She
quickly grabbed the file and strolled to David's office and stuffed
the entire file into the shredder.

She then grabbed Jack’s pants and helped him
into them. Candy helped him to his feet and walked Jack to the
door. In the doorway, with his back to Candy she undid the
handcuffs.

“By the way, I wasn’t with your Captain last
night. I was here in bed.”

The Captain was one of David’s country club
members. She met him once at a charity ball. She liked him, big
hands.

Jack took a few steps forward.

“That’s okay, nobody is dead either.” Jack
said softly, turned, smiled and walked away.

Candy closed the door. What did he say,? She
thought, even though she was sure of what she heard.

“Ring, ring.”

“Hello?”

“Hi honey, court was canceled. I’ll be home
shortly. Can I take you out to brunch?”

“Sounds great honey. I’ll just hop in the
shower.”

In the shower Candy was trying to figure out
who Jack really was. How did he get all that information and was he
coming back.

She sure hoped so.
