They stared at each other for a good long while, until the spray ran cold and he turned the water off. He pulled back the shower curtain and snagged two white towels off a stand. He wrapped one about his waist, and Taylor took the second. She slipped it around herself, tucking the ends above her breasts.
Brek leaned against the sink and drew Taylor between his thighs. He took her hands, kissing each palm. “I’m very glad you’re back.”
She sighed. “So am I.”
“I accept your adventures, Taylor,” he conceded. “You can continue to guide tours; just call Richmond home.”
“I’d like to run Thrill Seekers, but no longer as a guide,” she said. “My next adventure comes in planning our wedding. Marry me, Brek Stryker. I want to wear my engagement ring again.”
His relief settled bone-deep. “Valentine’s Day?”
She kissed him lightly. “The end of this week. No fuss or fanfare. You, me, at the courthouse.”
“You’re sure?”
“Let me show you how sure.”
