Strange Land (The Young Ancients Book 15) (39 page)

Ali looked at him, just in time to see him nod.

"We could do that. I really want you around, Sara. Ali does too. Here or there, it doesn't matter. We can each get a ship, and be back here every day, if we need to. It takes what, twenty minutes to get there and back? I can do that. I'm not really needed here, specifically. The classes can move there, if you're good with that? Alyssa? How do you feel about it?"

"I can do that too! Really, I can work anywhere. Let's try it? It will be an adventure, and I know what it means to you, to finally have Sara with you."

Then Tor kissed his wife, and after a moment, moved over to Sara.

"Yes. Let's do that then. I love you. Both of you."

Sara liked Ali, but didn't love her really. Still, she was a good friend, and a sweet woman. Smiling, she said it too.

"I love you both." After a moment it seemed unanimous.

That settled, Sara moved over to Karina, who she was apparently going to be living with too. When she announced that they had two other Builders moving with them, she practically beamed.

"Wonderful! Ali is my best friend, and Tor... Well, he's family, or close enough. That's a good start. Now we just need some people to do the work for us, and we'll be set."

She nodded, and then moved with Karina, holding her hand, over to her parents. After all, they had a start.
If
they could get Lister, the page boy, on their side. Clearly that was the important part. She mentioned it as early as was polite to the King and Queen of Noram. It went over well, since finding him a good place was actually the biggest part of their obligation to him.

They talked into the night. As the nobles left, she stayed behind, and made a point of being close to her friends. It was an unusual group, being made up of two wizards, a Princess, and her, but that was fine. She was getting what she really wanted after all.

Love.

Sure, it was up to her to try and build the future, but that was the same for everyone, wasn't it?

It took a while to get things really going, but a month later, they all moved to the Martian Circle.

A strange land, far away.

Her new home.

As it turned out,
their
new home.

There are regular updates about the latest books, plus a forum where you can discuss the various themes, point out what you liked (or didn't) and at times make suggestions as far as what will be written next! Or even side projects that no one has thought of before. (Who else lets you have that kind of input? Stephen King? George R.R. Martin? James Peterson? Nope. They hardly work at all, and sure as heck don't let
you
have a voice in anything. Not that it makes them bad guys, since that's the industry standard, but that's the point. You can come and be part of something new, and better!)
