Something Forbidden (16 page)

“You know, I like to watch, too,” Chloe said. When I looked over at her, I realized she was saying it
to me
. I knew what I had to do.

I pulled Katie in for a hard kiss. She welcomed it, devouring my tongue as she shoved hers down my throat. We turned into each other, knees touching. I slid my hand up the inside of her thigh and found the silky lace I’d glimpsed earlier. She kept her knees locked together. At first. All it took was a few kisses along her neck and the back of her ear and I had enough access to crawl up the bare skin of her upper thigh.

She was dripping by the time I pushed my fingers inside her thong. I easily curled two fingers between her slippery folds. She clutched at my thigh and the edge of her seat as a quiet moan slipped free. By the time I was done, I wanted her screaming.

Chloe beat her to the punch. “FUCK ME!” the blonde cried out.

Keeping my fingers sliding in and out of Katie and my head laid against her shoulder, I looked across at the other couple. Chloe had pushed her dress up over her hips. Nothing hid Greg’s monster as he slid it in and out of Chloe’s bald snatch.

She reached back and pulled Greg close for a sloppy, open-mouthed kiss. He squeezed her tits from behind, twisting her nipples hard enough that she had to break the kiss with a moaned, “
FUCK!”
Then she really started to fuck Greg.

I’d never seen such carnality only a few feet from me. Her tight little body glistened as street lamps strobed across it. We were on the highway. I vaguely noticed. Other cars slid by us in the night. Did they have any idea what was going on inside the limo just beside them? Could they have guessed that they’d see this if the windows came down?

Chloe panted with each cock-length bounce. “Fuck... me... fuck... ME... FUCKME FUCKMEEE!”

Katie’s fingers on my zipper drew my attention back to her.

“I need you,” she whispered. My belt clasp clacked through the confined space. Together, we yanked my pants and boxers down as I crawled over her. She pulled her thong to the side as I placed my cockhead against her. “I
need
you,” she repeated.

I sank to my balls in one fluid motion.

“You two are so hot!” Chloe mewed. She and Greg had slowed their vigorous screw session to watch us perform. The snug grip on my cock quivered as Katie was reminded of our audience.

My cock swelled. I pumped harder. With one knee on the bench of the limo and my hands grasping the back of it, I leveraged all my weight into each thrust.

Katie screamed. The walls of her pussy pulsed around my cock, a siren’s call to come crashing along these shores. With one final thrust, I did, erupting inside Katie’s welcoming body in the presence of another couple.

“Fucking A, that was hot,” Chloe said behind me. “Now I’m definitely envious of you, Katie.”

I pulled free, first checking on Katie to make sure that she was okay. Her face was bright red and her eyes were wide, but she didn’t seem like she was about to go into hysterics. She deftly smoothed her skirt down as I zipped back up, like there was a point to preserving our modesty anymore.

Mercifully, Chloe and Greg had finished and were once again covered. Chloe sat snuggled against her husband, her legs folded up beneath her. If I ignored the smell of sex and Chloe’s lacy thong on the floor, it was almost like nothing had happened.

Only everything had happened.

Katie spoke when I could not. “I don’t think I can handle my alcohol like I used to. Did that just happen?”

When she laughed, we all did. The tension burned away. I could breathe again.

Chloe touched Greg’s leg lovingly and looked at him. “We’ve done that a few times before, but it’s never been that intense, has it, honey?”

Greg nodded. “Never.”

Chloe went on. “I hope we didn’t freak you out. Sometimes I forget that not everyone’s as...erm, open-minded as us.”

“No, no,” Katie and I said in unison, neither of us quite telling the truth.

“Good, because we like you two. Tonight was so much fun, even before the kinky stuff.”

Greg added, “We haven’t clicked like this with another couple in a while. I hope we can do it again some time.”

The way he looked at Katie sent my stomach doing flips.

“Me, too.” Katie and I spoke over each other again, this time with more sincerity.

“Katie, I’ll call you Monday,” Chloe said. “We still need to finalize a few things about the building sale.”

“Have a good night, you two,” Greg added.

It was only then that I realized that the limo wasn’t moving—that it had stopped on our sleepy suburban street. That our
normal
life was just up the lamp-lined walk. Greg and Chloe didn’t get out, but we all hugged awkwardly in the low space, including a hushed, “I’ll be in touch,” from Chloe.

Katie and I stood stunned in the cold as we watched the limo drive away, like a dirty version of Cinderella’s story at the end of her night with the prince.

Katie huddled close, looking up at me with a raised brow. “So just dinner?”

We burst out laughing.

“Come on,” I said. “Let’s get inside and pay off the babysitter.”

“You know, I’m not really tired…” Katie said.

“Good. Me either.”

That night, we didn’t talk much about the wild experience, but we didn’t sleep much, either.

Chapter
8

We both woke up feeling like the Macy’s Day Parade had marched into our skulls. My mouth was dry. My body was still sheathed in a booze-fueled numbness. I didn’t get sick, but I kind of wished that I had.

Katie got sick. Then she crashed again.

Now the difference between being hung over when you’re just a couple versus a parent is that your kid doesn’t really have enough sympathy to let you sleep. Mya came charging in at some ungodly hour—that turned out to be just before 9. I was pretty sure that I’d had less to drink than Katie, so I dragged myself out of bed to make our daughter oatmeal and bacon.

Things got better with coffee—doesn’t everything? My body still ached and I still couldn’t clear all the cobwebs, but I started to remember what we’d done last night. Not that that made any more sense. Had we really done that? Had we had sex in front of another couple as they had sex? Seemed plausible in a dream-like way until I considered who my wife was. She abhorred strip clubs, pornography, and the idea of acting slutty. Had she really unzipped me? Had she whispered,
I need you?

Katie came downstairs a couple hours later, looking better than she had a right to. Mya was watching
Dora the Explorer
and I was slumped over my third cup of coffee.

“Hey,” she said. “I had the craziest dream...” Katie said. She ran her hand through her hair and shook her head.

“Me, too.” We shared a laugh. “Did that really happen?”

Katie plopped down at the kitchen table and took a sip of my coffee. “I think so? I remember having dinner. Then dancing. Then...”

“Yeah,” I said. I reached out and covered her hand, squeezing her fingers. “Then the limo.”

Katie looked down at our entwined hands. Her eyes cut back up at me through her long lashes. “That was hot.”

“Yeah.” And Katie telling me she felt that way was even hotter. “I couldn’t believe it when you unzipped me.”

“I did?” She looked up and away, as if trying to remember. Her faint smile told me that she did. “God, I’m sorry.”

“Why? Don’t apologize. It was incredible.”

“I was so horny. I couldn’t stop myself. It was like I was possessed or something.”

“You should get possessed more often,” I said. “So we’re good?”

“I wouldn’t use that word, but yeah, I’m okay with it.” Katie fingered my coffee mug as she organized her thoughts. “I still can’t believe...well, any of it. But I don’t regret it.”

“Chloe and Greg are pretty wild, huh?”

She said, “Now there’s an understatement.”

“Do we like them?”

“Yes, I think we do. There’s something dangerous about them, but—”

I finished for her. “But maybe that’s what’s so exciting about them.” Katie nodded. “Do you think Greg’s attractive?”

Her admission was only a little hesitant. “Yeah, but if this is going where I think it is...” She took a deep breath. “I don’t think I’m ready to try, you know,
swinging
or anything.” Her face was as bright as her hair.

“I’d be fine just watching,” I said. I couldn’t help it. The words tumbled out like a compulsion.

“How’s that, Max? What’s in it for you?” We’d been down this road countless times.

I still didn’t have a clear answer, but I could try.

“It’s never been about me being with another woman. What turns me on is you and another man. That’s what gets me dizzy with excitement. I don’t even need to be there—although that would be awesome. Even just knowing what you were up to would drive me crazy.”

Katie chewed on that. Before she could come up with something to say, Mya started calling for another episode of Dora. Life as a suburbanite came storming back.

A week later, Katie walked into the house still on the phone, just back from the office. She laughed. “Oh, you’re nuts, you know that?”

I waved at her from the kitchen, where Mya and I were putting together a puzzle on the table (for the fifth time that half hour). Katie tucked her phone between her head and shoulder and hung her coat in the closet. There was nothing particularly sexy about her black suit—the skirt brushed her knees and the pink blouse she wore beneath was standard business wear—but I found myself stirring regardless.

“Okay, okay...” she said, still talking into the phone. She reached back and released her hair from its bun. It fell in rich, auburn waves as she shook it out. She fixed a look, right at me. “I’ll talk to him. Bye now.”

She ended the call, laughed, and gave the two of us a big smile.

“What was that about?” I asked.

“That was Chloe. I’ll talk to you about it later.”

“Mommy, come help us put the princess puzzle together!” Mya said. She placed the last puzzle piece into its spot, looked up at us like she’d just solved world peace, then flipped the puzzle board over. “Mommy, come on. Help!”

Please
, Mya? Remember to say please.” Despite the dark suit, Katie had already shifted into mom mode.

“Pleeease?!”

Katie laughed and sat down next to us. “Okay, kiddo. Let’s start with the corners...”

It wasn’t until Mya was asleep that I got the skinny on the phone conversation, and if I’d known what she was holding back, I wouldn’t have been able to focus on a thing. We were in bed, me in just my boxers and Katie in a t-shirt and long, satin pajama pants. The smooth material slithered across my bare legs as she got close.

“Would you be mad if I went to an art show this Friday?” she said. I started to ask why I’d be mad when she added, “With Greg?”

My heart jumped. “Alone?”

Katie nodded, rushing ahead as her face flushed. “They’d planned on going to some big gallery opening on Friday a while back, but something came up and Chloe has to travel that weekend. She thought it was silly for him to go alone and they thought of me.”

“I bet they
thought
of you.”

“Oh, this is silly. Never mind.”

“No, I’m sorry. It’s not silly. It…well, it’s really sexy.” I kissed her gently. She tasted minty from her toothpaste, so familiar, yet still full of surprises. Here she was, intrigued by this offer to spend time alone with Greg—our best option to explore my fantasy further—and here I was trying to sabotage it.

“I think you should go,” I said. “It’ll be fun.”

“You sure?” she asked. We both knew she wasn’t asking whether I was sure about her attending the art show. She was asking if I was sure about taking this to the next level. To reiterate, she added, “You think we’re ready for that?”

“I think so.”

She stared up at me and I saw the uncertainty mixed with desire that I felt etched in her face. When she spoke, it was like rising out of water. “I think so, too.”

****

The few days leading up to the gallery opening felt like a heat wave that would never end—despite the freeze outside. Our lovemaking was rabid every night, like we had to prove that no matter what happened on Friday, we still loved each other.

Katie came home Friday afternoon to get ready, a mix of shopping bags in tow. I’d already dropped Mya off at my parents’ house so I could sweat the evening alone.

Her auburn hair looked different, burnished like copper when the light caught it. It fell in loose waves around her shoulders, giving her a Fifties starlet look. She noticed me looking.

“I had a little taken off the ends, and got it blown out.” Her nails had been polished, too: French tips that I always loved.
