Safe Harbor (The Lake Trilogy, Book 3) (42 page)

Will finally falls on the bed. He lifts my shirt and kisses my belly. “I hope we have two girls, just like you,” he says in between kisses.

“I hope we have two boys, just like you,” I counter.

“How about this,” Will says as he moves to lie next to me. “Let’s hope for one of each.”

“That’s great, but I think we’ll be stuck with whatever we get. I guess it’s good that you already have two names picked out, huh?” We laugh for a moment before Will kisses me, taking me by my waist and pulling me on top of him. I smile as we kiss, feeling his hands caressing the skin on my back. “Don’t tell me you’re already afraid? You’re not going to hurt me, or the babies, Will” I say.

“Oh, no. I just thought we’d reenact the night we made those two little jelly beans,” he says as he unbuttons my shirt. He stops his hands for a moment in between buttons and locks his eyes on mine. “I love you, Layla.”

“I love
you
, Will.”

I thought the last five years had been the most life changing
for me. I can’t imagine how life altering the next five will be. What I do know is that the next five years are going to be filled with nothing but love.

Love I longed for.

Loved I earned.

And more love than I could have ever dreamed of
.
