Outlaw MC of Mars (3 page)

Long after they both fell asleep, I
lay there staring at the night sky of Earth. I wasn’t shaking with fear. And
when my eyes eventually closed, I didn’t even dream.

Chapter Five

As we flew off Earth, I made a
promise to return next year so we could make love
under
the fall of snow. That’d be something. Reilly hadn’t ever
seen snow or rain. It’s not like we had any of that on Mars. This was also his
first trip to Earth.
It’d
gotten better
since the majority of the population left. The forests were becoming massive,
spreading over cities and towns. Mother Nature was taking back her world. Maybe
one day humans could return here. Even if others did, I wouldn’t. My home was
on Mars.

It was nine hours of sitting in the ship and
relaxing. Outlaw had been taking pilot lessons from Grim. He flew with the
giant as his copilot via radio. Reilly and I sat staring out at Earth. It was
beautiful from space. Blues, greens, wispy clouds, and snow-covered mountains.
We passed the moon, which was still void of life. Long dead satellites whooshed
by our ship. There was a storm forming over a huge land mass. We snuggled and
watched it for as long as we could.

The trip home was uneventful.

Mars was just as we left it—recovering,
hopeful. The moment we landed, I saw those red sand dunes and I smiled. Home,
there’s nothing quite like it. The majority of the world was
sand,
but the trees were growing extremely
well. We had our own small section of woods growing,
making
the air a little less artificial. In a few years, we
wouldn’t need the oxygen generators. Hopefully.

The city was laid out before us in
the grip of sunset. There was the slightest sparkle
from
far away stars in the darkening sky. That was our view as we rode
to the clubhouse. The
hover bike
was
solid between my legs just like the men in my life. We turned into the parking
lot. The first thing that greeted me was the finished garage. It stood tall beside
our main building. The roof pitched, the walls a soft white and on each closed
garage door it read,
The Outlaw MC of
Mars.

“Would you look at that fucking
beauty,” Outlaw said.

I barely heard him over the engine.
We parked and a moment later Reilly pulled in. He had a fancy new hover bike of
his own.

The garage doors opened as we
approached. The sight was breathtaking. The club members were standing there.
All of them. There was a long table covered with a white cloth. Two new black
bikes were on the other side of the garage. They each had shiny Christmas decorations.
We couldn’t tear down a tree like the old traditions so we decorated our bikes.

“Merry Christmas,” most of them
yelled.

Deviant grunted.

Mayhem smiled and sucked on his
cigar.

Outlaw stood at the head of the
long table. Reilly and I sat. I
stared
out
at my lovers, my friends, my former enemies, and the feast we were about to
consume. They were all smiles. Grim was next to me. He was the man that healed
me, saving my life after Outlaw rescued me from that prison. He was watching
his lover, Valentine. The sneaky man had survived prison at an early age, escaped,
and joined us. Valentine stole a piece of food from the nearest plate. As he
shoved it in his mouth, his brother Romeo slapped him
on
the shoulder. Justice laughed, shaking his head. The leader of Mars
pulled his lover in for a kiss. Their lips were such a contrast, white on
black. Love was love.

Tage was next to Justice. He still
wore his fancy suits. His dark hair didn’t have a strand out of place. He
wasn’t rich anymore. He lost his fortune when he joined us in the fight against
the government. But you couldn’t tell. He smiled politely and glanced at his man,
Deviant. The big blond man was sitting, watching Valentine’s antics. Huge
muscular arms over his wide chest. To anyone else he’d look pissed off but
Deviant wasn’t. In fact, I don’t think I’d ever seen him so happy. He smiled
more. He talked more. Deviant was in love and it looked good on him.

Across from them sat Harley and
Whip. Why was the redheaded Harley squirming in his seat? Was Whip working his
ass that hard? Oh fuck, Harley probably had on that damn cock cage. Freaks.
Yeah, I loved ’em both. Whip had the chains around his neck, jangling as he
pulled Harley in for a hug. They laughed as Valentine went for another piece of
food but was caught mid reach.

Mayhem was the other big guy at the
table. He was all muscle and height. His wide shoulders stretched across,
making him look squished in the seat. The cigar was stuck between his fingers
as a cloud of white smoke swirled around his head. His angry, overly masculine
features softened. Torrin laid his head on Mayhem’s arm. Now that was a twist I
hadn’t seen coming. Apparently, Torrin was a former peacekeeper. Mayhem somehow
won him over and it was one of the reasons the club took down the government.
That was while I was on Earth. I wish I would have been here to see that.

Chaos had come the furthest out of
all my brothers, I think. He had such a rough start
with
his father who was a serial killer. I worried about Chaos. He
had this knack for violence that was sometimes too much. He had met Beau in
prison and the shorter Hispanic man had claimed Chaos for his own. They were
nearly inseparable. I noticed in the first few days here that Chaos’s temper
and anger
were
suppressed. He was a tamed
man.

Then there was Reilly. The
twink
that shared a bed with Outlaw and me.
That was a surprise that knocked me back. Reilly in love with Outlaw and falling
for me. I remembered him as the wiry teenager we found starving and alone. He
grew into a handsome man that loved to dance naked. And now … now he was mine.
Well, Outlaw’s and mine.

Outlaw stared out at the table too.
I think he was taking in the scene as I was. He cleared his throat and all eyes
turned toward him. “The fight was bloody. We lost good men and women along the
way. Keep their memory alive.” He swallowed hard. “It’s time to move on now. It’s
time to wipe away the blood and pick up the pieces.” He grabbed his glass of
whiskey
and held it up. “This is to our future.
To humanity’s future. To the Outlaw MC of Mars.”

Cheers rang out and we all threw
back the drink. Mine burned all the way down. Outlaw sat and the group began
digging into our Christmas dinner. There were presents in the clubhouse. Odd
things too. A new whip, lots of bottles of
whiskey
,
there were fancy new
shoes
and everything
else our MC brothers could ever want. As they ate, I sat back stunned at how content
they were, at how at ease I was.

So, this is what a happy ending
felt like.
