Nikolai's Wolf (23 page)

The she-wolf was aggressive, attacking over and over again, determined to remove this threat from its life. Nikolai assumed a defensive position, blocking each attack while waiting for the she-wolf to tire itself out. Finally, he spotted what he was looking for, an opening in its defenses.

The next time the she-wolf charged him, he waited until the last minute to dodge.

Moving so fast that he was a blur, he had the she-wolf pinned with his teeth locked on its throat before it knew what was happening. The she-wolf struggled in his grasp. Nikolai growled and tightened his grip on its throat. It hesitated for a moment, before finally admitting defeat. It whimpered in submission and arched its neck more fully into Nikolai’s mouth.

Knowing only half the battle had been won, Nikolai released the she-wolf and nudged it to its feet. Circling around behind it, he nipped at its hindquarters until it presented itself for mounting. Swallowing his distaste in the act, he allowed his wolf’s penis to drop from its sheath and mounted the she-wolf, penetrating her until she accepted him as her mate.

As soon as he recognized that the battle had been won, he thrust his power deep inside the she-wolf until he located the spot where his mate rested. “Shift,” he commanded.

As she flowed seamlessly from wolf to human, Nikolai shifted with her, never losing contact. When Shannon was back to herself, he pressed down on her shoulders until her breasts touch the ground, arching her hips higher in the air. With his knees, he spread her legs wider apart, increasing the depth of his thrusts as he covered her with his body.

Shannon rocked back into his body, tightening her sheath around him and riding his cock. Nikolai brought his wrist to his mouth and tore into the skin with his fangs, then brought his wrist to Shannon’s mouth. Linking his mind with hers, he compelled her to drink, though it was no longer necessary. As she fed from his wrist, he locked his fangs into her neck and fed deeply, completing the third exchange.

When they’d both consumed enough blood, he released his fangs from her shoulder and commanded her to release his wrist, which he then licked until the wound was sealed.

Bracing her shoulders with his arms, Nikolai hunched over Shannon and plunged into her, driving them both to release. As soon as their orgasms had passed, Nikolai commanded Shannon into a deep sleep.

When Shannon awoke, she was once more in Nikolai’s bed.

“Ours now.”

She stretched and wrapped her arms around his neck, drawing him down for a kiss. “Is it done?”

“Yes,” he answered as he covered her body with his own.

Shannon took mental inventory. “I don’t feel any different.”

“What did you expect?” Nikolai smiled as he arched his eyebrow.

“I don’t know. Something. Anything. This just feels so normal.”

“Let’s see if I can help you with that.” He sheathed his hardness inside of her softness and gently made love to her, drawing the pleasure out for a long time.

When it was over, Shannon lay resting on his chest. “I still don’t feel any different inside.”

Nikolai laughed deeply, bouncing her on his body so that she had to grab ahold of him to keep from falling off. “You’ve already done all the changing you’re going to do. Your body

Shannon reached down and tickled his sides, causing Nikolai to buck beneath her.

“You couldn’t have told me this before? You knew I was worried.” He smiled smugly as he rolled her beneath him and pinned her arms above her head.

“And still you came to me, not knowing what would happen.” In his voice was all of the pride and love that he felt for her, his chosen.

“How could I do any less? I love you.”

“Indeed,” he agreed as he began to love on her again. “Now about those children you wanted…”

A lone male wolf stood on a ridge, high above the valley. Throwing back its muzzle, it howled, the mournful sound echoing off the rocks, before slowly fading away. The massive red wolf settled down on its haunches until its muzzle rested on its outstretched paws, a single tear drifting from the corner of one eye.

I love to read. I love books that can take me out of my ordinary life into an extraordinary reality. I don't just read. I become. To me, a really well written book is like a mini-vacation, without all of the hassle. My greatest hope is that after reading one of my stories, you'll feel the same.

The mother of three (four, if you count Lady, our family dog) and grandmother of two, when not busy with family or church, I can most likely be found in front of the computer writing or escaping into a book.
