Natural Lust (2 page)

“It’s absolutely perfect,” Kallie ran her hand over the smooth oak railing before she returned upstairs.

Foregoing the chore of unpacking, Kallie donned her bikini, grabbed her beach bag and headed out to the resort’s
guests only
pool. J.B. said to relax and that’s what she would do. He’d never know her laptop and e-reader were going to keep her company while she tried to get a little summer coloring.

Luckily, the pool was void of other visitors this time of day and Kallie chose a chaise in the center of the sprawling patio. She could stare at the mountain before her while she soaked up some sun and it felt like she had arrived at her very own paradise. Grateful for the serene location, she opened her laptop to check her email. Realizing quickly there was no wireless connection at her little oasis, she opted to write a review of another book she’d finished the night before. Kallie could save it and post it when she returned to her cabin later that evening.

Twenty minutes later she was done. Next in line was a horror story by another as of yet unknown author. Kallie enjoyed reading debut work as much if not more than books by best-selling writers. Sometimes, the newer authors were actually better than veterans in the business. Helping a new-to-the-game author was one of Kallie’s favorite things about her job. Everyone deserved a fair shake and she made it her goal to bring exciting, new blood to an industry previously run with an iron clad fist.

Egotistical authors like Foley were the bane of her career. They were so caught up in their own celebrity that they couldn’t handle it if their books received less than five stars. Just because an author had previous best-selling books didn’t make them all wonderful. It was Kallie’s job, her dream job, to honestly tell people what she thought about books and she planned to keep on doing so. No bully such as Foley was going to silence her.

After reading the paranormal novella by a talented author Kallie had never heard of, she stretched and decided to take a quick break. As she sat there surrounded by the magnificent Smoky Mountains, she felt the tension fall away. Before she knew it she was awakened by a torrent of cold water falling across her body.

“Aaaahhh! What the?” Kallie spitted and sputtered, trying to catch her breath.

She grabbed her towel and dried her eyes off so she could smack whoever awakened her so rudely. What she saw sent anger rippling through her. There beside her, covered in water, was none other than her laptop and e-reader! Kallie frantically picked the soggy electronics up, shaking them as she tried desperately to save her beloved gadgets. It was no use, they were ruined.

She spun around and found the jerk that had screwed up her relaxing weekend and set off with fire in her eyes. “I should kick his ass,” she mumbled.

“Do you realize what you did? Hey! I’m speaking to you, Neanderthal. You just ruined my computer and my e-reader with your big, flamboyant antics.”

The man continued to swim lap after lap across the large pool, never once giving attention to Kallie’s outburst.

“Hello? Inconsiderate much?”

Frustrated beyond belief, Kallie turned to retrieve her belongings. Just as she’d packed up her sunscreen, the man called, “Hi. How are you? I didn’t know anyone else was here. I’m…”

Kallie cut him off as he stood in front of her with his hand outstretched, awaiting hers to shake. “You are the most idiotic man I have ever met! Do you realize what you’ve done? How dare you come over here all nicey-nice after the stunt you pulled?”

“Sorry, but I have no idea what you’re talking about. Do I know you?”

“No idea, huh? You have no idea what you did? Figures. Just like a man.”

“Listen lady, I’m sorry that someone has evidently gotten you all riled up, but there’s no reason to take it out on me. I’m just here to swim. Sorry I bothered you.” He walked away shaking his head, sending drips of water from its dark ends. His well-toned backside wasn’t enough to tame Kallie’s anger though.

“That’s right. Just walk away. Don’t worry about me. Don’t offer to pay for what you did. No worries, I will handle it myself.” Kallie proceeded to pack up her soggy belongings and muttered about assholes and senseless jerks.

The man turned around asking, “Pay for what?”

“Oh, now you want to know? Well, Mr. Pool God, for your information you ruined my laptop and my e-reader. They are currently full of the water you so kindly sent cascading over them.” Kallie pointed to the chaise lounge she’d occupied, now soaked and covered in water.

“What are you talking about? Do you always talk in riddles?”

“Ugh. Listen, just be a gentleman and at least offer to pay for the damages.”

“Me? Why? You’re the one who apparently brought the gadgets to a pool. Did you ever stop to think that might not be the best idea?” The man toweled himself off, reminding Kallie of those guys in the shaving cream commercials on TV. Lean, rock-hard abs, asses women long to grab and that irritated her even more. The guy ruined her things and was a jerk. What the hell was she thinking getting all hot and bothered by some strange laptop murdering flake!

“I brought them to an empty pool. No one was here. How was I to know a grown man would show up with a burning need to do a cannon-ball like a child?”

“Maybe if you hadn’t been facing the other way, you would’ve seen me and moved your things. Why would you go to a pool and sit in a chair facing the opposite direction? I had no idea you were there.”

“The direction I face is my business. For your information, the glare was preventing me from working. So I was enjoying the view of the mountain while I finished. I was quite content until I was so rudely awakened.”

From across the patio, the guy’s cell phone rang to the tune of
I’m Sexy and I Know It
—further proof the guy was a complete sod. “Look, I really don’t know what you expect me to do about it and I’m late for an appointment. So, um, good luck with whatever, lady.”

The man trotted to the other side of the pool, grabbed his sunglasses and a set of keys leaving Kallie stand there with a dripping laptop in her arms and her mouth wide open in shock.

Chapter Two

Kallie stomped into her cabin and tossed her laptop into the trash can. The warranty was expired and she knew it’d be futile to file a claim with the electronics company. The best she could hope for was that a store in town had another.

“If I can’t find a suitable replacement here, it will have to wait until I get home. There goes any hope of getting any work done.”

She hopped in the spacious shower and after a relaxing twenty-minutes under the incredible spray, she felt revived. Using the cabin’s complimentary plush towels, Kallie took her time patting dry. Once dressed, she padded downstairs to make a light supper for herself. Luckily, the refrigerator came fully stocked so she whipped up an omelet before settling in to watch some television.

The famous town had their own television network specifically targeted toward visitors and often showed various educational programs about the prestigious, mountain haven. Kallie found a special presentation on a bear rescuing program named after the Appalachian Mountains and she was hooked. Anyone who took the time to care for wild animals, rehabilitating them and saving them warmed her heart. When it came to bears, Kallie was hooked and Tennessee had plenty of them. So, it was nice to see the majestic creatures were being sheltered and loved.

For the most part, the show took her mind off her work, ruined gadgets and that infuriating man at the pool for a few peaceful moments. When one of the town’s touristy commercials catering to couples filled the television screen, a mental barrage of the man’s deep blue eyes and crooked grin overtook her brief requiem and dashed any hopes of forgetting his crass behavior.

“Who did he think he was, anyways?”

Kallie tried to dismiss him from her mind, but when the documentary came back on, she no longer saw the adorable, baby bears. Instead, visions of the man’s firm, tanned chest covered in droplets of water and that sinful grin of his as his sky-blue eyes roamed over her scantily clad body, made her heart skip pace and her core throb with desire. Evidently his image wasn’t leaving. The mere thought of him caused her body to betray her mind. Kallie gave up and shut off the TV.

She wandered through her weekend rental, perusing a few of the various amenities her cozy cabin offered. Not only was there a hot tub outside, but upstairs in the bedroom there was a heart-shaped Jacuzzi tub big enough for two. She could already feel the man’s large hands sliding across her body in the steamy, bubble filled water. Just as Kallie closed her eyes, imagining her own hands delving beneath the foam in search of his shaft, the blast of a car horn shook her out of her daydream.

“You’ve got to be kidding me. Get a grip, Kal.” Kallie rolled her eyes and padded back downstairs in search of something, anything to take her mind off of the man that had fried her laptop’s circuits and had her insides alight with desire.

Kallie had no idea how the man could be so appealing and make her want to scream at the same time. “Screaming might not be so bad. Under the right circumstances, of course” she laughed before chastising herself for even thinking about the idiot.

“Has it been that long?” Kallie mentally calculated the months since her last sexual encounter and was surprised to find it had not only been months, but years. Two long, dry years. “Wow. No wonder I’m horny for the first appendage that comes my way.”

She’d been working so hard to make a name for herself she hadn’t taken any time off since she began reviewing for J.B. There wasn’t anyone at work she would ever consider dating. That was a no-no. Sure, a few of the guys had asked her out but she politely declined and of course, she gained the nick-name ‘Ice Queen’. Kallie never let it bother her. She was there to work on her career not to participate in office romances.

Now, alone in the luxurious cabin, all she could think about was getting laid. Maybe J.B. was right. She needed something to take her mind off of things and a shag with some stranger might just do the trick. If not, she was sure there was a sex toy store around. Worst case scenario, she’d find herself a guaranteed pleasurable experience. And with a vibrator, she wouldn’t have to deal with the awkward

moment.

She played a few games of pool by herself and then went back upstairs to get ready for bed. All of the excitement and stress from the previous weeks had taken their toll. She was ready for some real rest and relaxation. Tomorrow would be another day and she planned to make the best of her short vacation. Kallie climbed into the king-size bed and drifted off to sleep.

* * * *

Kallie woke in a tangle of sheets and sweaty from a night full of erotic dreams. Throughout the night she tossed and turned from one sexual fantasy to another, each of them starring the blue-eyed man from the day before. She climbed out of bed and realized her panties were soaked. Plentiful evidence of an orgasm or two courtesy of her own imagination.

“Damn. Even in my dreams he’s good.” She hopped in the shower intending to wash away her fantasy night of sins but the shower head was malfunctioning. Kallie removed it from the clip on the wall and twisted and turned the dial until it reached the pulse setting. It shot a steady stream of pounding warm water right at her pussy. Her clit rose to attention immediately and Kallie held the shower head, angling it to reach her in the most intimate way.

The steady beat of the warm water as she lifted and lowered the shower head sent her into orgasm. Kallie rinsed the juices from her body though her rosy clit still stood at attention. She slid one hand down across her wet skin, while holding the shower head with the other tracing the folds of her pussy with slick fingers as the water pounded her hood.

To get a better angle, she lay down on the shower floor and began stroking, probing and rubbing herself. The shower head was too short to reach her most intimate places, it sprayed the walls as she let go of it. Swollen with desire, Kallie squeezed her breast with one hand, pinching her nipple into peaks as she moaned and whimpered. In and out, her fingers dipped inside bringing her closer to the edge.

Kallie switched hands, quickly and slid her nectar soaked fingers into her mouth licking every drop from her digits. Her scent, the taste of her own honey sent lightning hot throbs to her core. In and out her fingers dipped, rubbing and pushing as she rode her hand into ecstasy. Cum ran down her backside as she lay there humping with every throb until the very last drop poured out of her and she was satisfied.

Kallie finished her shower and dressed. Her tensions gone and her skin alight with a glow, she went downstairs to make coffee. “It’s been awhile since I’ve had coffee after sex,” she mused. “Is it sex if you’re alone?” she pondered and decided she didn’t care. She was sated and that was enough for her.

A travel guide lay open where she’d left it the night before and she browsed the various activities and attractions, searching for the perfect solo thing to do. Page after page depicted families and lovers enjoying the various restaurants, shops and shows. Kallie realized the best thing she could think of was to go for a hike. She loved the mountains and it was something she didn’t need a ‘partner’ for. So, she swapped her sandals for running shoes and filled a fanny pack with a few Band-Aids, gum, cell phone and her keys before she set off down the lane that led to the trails.

Kallie walked and climbed, using her cell phone to snap pictures everywhere she turned. There were no words to describe the feeling of being in that national forest. It was a deep, emotional experience to walk so close to the animals as they went about their daily routines.

“You can feel the history here,” she said as she trekked a path that was only a few feet wide. The narrow ledge was part of a trail that led to one of the park’s most famous waterfalls. This particular waterfall was believed to have healing powers in its waters. Many touted the spiritual experience they’d had as ‘miraculous’ and ‘enlightening.’ When Kallie reached the landing, she believed them. Her breath caught in her throat and she felt herself tearing up as indescribable peace came over her. It was the most beautiful place she had ever seen. With its thousands of layers of rock being caressed by the purest water, all surrounded by mile high trees and foliage in every shade of green, Kallie could feel her spirit being soothed with every breath she took. The scents of dirt, animals and clean air seemed to push away the stress of her everyday life.
