“God, you drain me every time I get inside your sweet pussy.”

“That was so good,” she finally managed to get out.

When he finally moved off her, Clint took his place and shoved his cock all the way inside of her in one plunge. Her eyes flew open at the thickness of him filling her. Her pussy was still sensitized from Gray. She immediately felt the burn begin all over again. The flickering flames crawled up the walls of her cunt, ready to consume her once again. Elissa whimpered as Clint thrust inside of her over and over again, stealing her breath and driving her climax closer and closer.

She squeezed him with her cunt muscles as she had Gray and was rewarded with a curse as he faltered in his rhythm. She did it again, and he growled.

“You keep doing that and I’ll come too soon, honey.”

“Fuck me harder, Clint.” She wanted more. She wanted deeper.

“Hell, yeah.” He ratcheted up his thrusts until she was literally scooting up in the bed with each push of his cock.

She grabbed on to the covers in a desperate attempt to ground herself. She wanted to feel him against her cervix. She wanted that extra burn that it gave her. When he tunneled against it, she screamed and came in a torrent of burning-hot flames that consumed her. She struggled to breathe through them.

Somewhere in all of the pleasure she was aware of Clint shooting his hot cum deep into her cunt. He called out her name and then collapsed over her. For long seconds they stayed that way until Gray pulled Clint off of her.

“You’ll suffocate her, man,” he said with a chuckle.

“Thanks,” Clint got out between breaths.

“Baby, you okay?” Gray brushed a lock of her hair out of her eyes.

“Great, fantastic, out of breath.” She grinned up at him then yawned.

“I’ll get a cloth and clean you up. Would you rather have a bath?” he asked.

“Don’t think—I can stay awake—long enough for one.” She yawned again.

Gray smiled and dipped down for a kiss. She wrapped an arm around his neck and kissed him back. She loved Gray’s kisses, but quickly realized she hadn’t caught her breath enough for a good one.

He pulled back and kissed her on the nose before climbing off the bed and walking to the bathroom. He returned a few seconds later with a warm, wet cloth and cleaned her up. It felt so good to have the cum that leaked from her wiped away. She rolled over and wrapped an arm across Clint’s waist and settled her head on his shoulder. He was still fighting for breath.

Gray climbed back in bed behind her and snuggled up to her back. She closed her eyes and smiled. She loved feeling his breath on the back of her neck. Knowing he was close enough to breathe on her helped settle her down, but not enough to go immediately to sleep. Instead, she thought about the garden and how much she wanted to get out in it. She thought about Lacy and the baby. She wanted to go see them.

Then she thought about the creature and the wound on the back of her leg. What did it mean that it had turned yellow? Was there something in her body now that wasn’t really her? Would it affect her health? What about if she got pregnant? The more she thought about it, the more she worried. Finally, she reminded herself not to borrow trouble.

The soft breath against her neck slowly lulled her into relaxing again, and she finally fell asleep.

Chapter Sixteen

“I’m going out without you if you don’t hurry it up, guys. You’re trying to drag it out.” She huffed out a breath in irritation.

“Better come on, Gray. She’s getting angry.” Clint chuckled.

Elissa couldn’t wait to get back out in the garden. It had been two weeks since she had been attacked by the creature, and she was anxious to get outside. They had promised her she could work outside today. They had worked with her on her shooting and declared her a natural shot. She never would have believed she would be handling a gun, much less need to shoot one.

“Don’t forget to keep your radio with you all the time,” Gray warned her again.

“I’m not going to forget anything. I’ve already checked everything. Let’s go, guys!”

They filed out of the house into the back. Clint hugged her and kissed her then handed her off to Gray. He gave her a deep kiss with a little extra punch.

“Wow, maybe we could go back inside for a little while,” she teased.

“Just remember that for later and stay safe,” Gray told her.

She watched them walk across the field until they were out of sight. Then she gathered her tools and surveyed the garden. The men had worked in it to keep the grass out of it, but it needed extra attention. For one thing, the tomatoes were beginning to produce already. Everything had really grown. She had little doubt now that something was up with either the soil or the atmosphere or both.

Elissa drew in a deep breath of the fresh air and got to work. At first, she started at every sound, expecting the creature that had attacked her to show up at any minute. Finally, she settled down and worked until nearly noon without stopping. Her back and legs ached from all the unaccustomed activity.

She surveyed the area and decided it was in decent shape once again. She would go over to Lacy’s after lunch. The men had been adamantly against it, but she pointed out that she would have to go at some point, so why not today?

“You’re not used to so much activity at one time, Elissa,” Gray had argued.

“Says the man who just fucked me through two orgasms.”

He had huffed out a breath and turned to Clint. “You reason with her.”

“Don’t look at me. I don’t have a leg to stand on. I was on the bottom of that equation, helping you.”

She had won the argument. Now, however, she wasn’t so sure they hadn’t been right. She was dog tired. She decided to eat lunch, then head over and see the baby. She could rest more while she was visiting. She couldn’t wait to talk to Lacy and see the little girl.

As soon as she finished eating a sandwich and drinking two glasses of water, Elissa checked to be sure she had her radio and the gun and headed out across the field. Every movement had her jerking her head from one side to the other as grass blew with the wind and tiny squirrel-like creatures with two tails and long noses tunneled in and out of the grasses. The men had told her these could be killed and eaten, but none of them had attempted to test the theory out as of yet.

When she emerged from the field into Lacy’s front yard, she sighed in relief. She hadn’t realized just how much courage it was going to take for her to cross that field alone. Now that she had done it, she felt a little more confident. But she still planned to leave to go home well before dark.

Elissa knocked at the front door, hoping she wouldn’t wake the baby if she was asleep. She didn’t have long to wait. Lacy opened the door less than five seconds later with a huge grin on her face.

“Elissa! I’m so glad to see you. Come on in. How are you feeling?”

“I’m fine. Very glad to be out of the house. How are you and little Julianne doing?” Elissa walked into the room.

“Oh, we are doing fine. She’s growing like a weed. I can’t wait until you see her. She’s napping right now.” Lacy grabbed her arm and pulled her further into the living room. “Have a seat and tell me about the creature.”

“Surely you don’t want to hear about that. It will give you nightmares.” Elissa laughed.

“I do want to hear. I need to know what to watch for around here, especially with little Julie to watch over.”

Elissa sighed and figured Lacy was right. She needed to know what was going on around them. She told her everything from when the creature appeared to when she got home from town and the doctor. Then she filled her in on the garden and how fast everything was growing. She didn’t mention anything concerning her fears about how it all might affect Julie.

“I told Cam the other day that our garden was growing a lot faster than it did last year. He said they had noticed that with the crops, too. I’ve already gotten tomatoes and peas.”

“I’m trying to keep a log of it all, but with me being away from it for two weeks, my log is not going as planned.”

“Can I see your leg where you got bitten?” Lacy finally asked.

Elissa had been expecting this. She hated that it looked so weird. She just nodded and pulled up her pant leg for Lacy to see.

“Wow. That had to have hurt.”

“It didn’t hurt nearly as bad as it looks like it should have. Mostly it burned.” Elissa pushed her pant leg back down.

A gurgle reached her ears. Elissa frowned. “What was that?”

“That was the baby monitor letting me know that Julie is awake. Come on upstairs and meet her.”

Lacy led the way up to the nursery. She reached into the crib and picked up Julie. The baby had to have weighed twelve or thirteen pounds now. She was a beautiful baby, with dark-brown hair and what appeared to be hazel eyes. She had the cutest bow-shaped mouth.

“Can I hold her?” she asked.

“Of course. Come on over here and sit in the rocking chair. She loves to be rocked.” Lacy led her over to the rocking chair and handed little Julie to her.

“Oh, she’s so heavy. I feel for you when you were in labor.”

“She’s gained a lot of weight since we got home. You have to remember, she’s nearly three weeks old now.”

Elissa rocked her and cooed over her. She was so sweet and smelled of baby powder and baby oil. She rubbed her back and listened to her breath for several long minutes before she gave her back to Lacy. She just couldn’t imagine herself with an infant. She hoped it wasn’t a sign that she couldn’t have children. She wanted them. Just not for another few more months. She needed to get her first harvest under her belt before she got pregnant.

Lacy laid Julie back down, and they tiptoed out of the room and back downstairs. Elissa didn’t say anything until they were in the living room.

“I better go work on the garden and then get home before dark. The guys will be furious if I’m late.”

“You certainly don’t need to be out late. It’s not safe, and you know it. Let me know when you are about to leave.” Lacy waved her out the door.

Elissa grabbed the tools and walked into a jungle of peas, beans, corn, and tomatoes. Everything was huge. She struggled with getting rid of the grass and avoiding the vines that seemed to be reaching out for her. They tangled around her shoulders and in her hair as she worked to wrap them around their poles.

She gathered all the vegetables that were ready. She carried them up to the back door and knocked. Lacy appeared and gasped.

“We just gathered everything yesterday and there’s all this again? What am I going to do with it all?” Lacy laughed and helped her carry it in the house.

They settled their bounty on the kitchen cabinets. Elissa smiled. She had a ton of tomatoes as well.

“I’m going to put up tomatoes tomorrow myself. When I get finished, do you want me to come over and help you?”

“Naw, it will give me something to do while Julie sleeps. She is such a good baby. She sleeps a lot. I feed her every five hours now.”

“That’s good. Helps with sleeping, doesn’t it?” Elissa smiled. “I better get going. It will be dark in a little over an hour. I need to at least be home, if not have the guys’ dinner cooked, before they get there. I don’t want them worrying.”

“You be careful, Elissa. I’ll feel horrible if something happens to you.” Lacy hugged her.

“I’ll be fine. I have my radio and my gun.” She waved and stepped off the front porch to head back home.

She made it across the field without incident. She hurried to take a shower and clean up before she started dinner. She really wanted dinner at least started before Clint and Gray got back home. She didn’t want them to question how late she had stayed.
