Lynnia

Lynnia pulled up to the front of the school and immediately noticed there was a crowd right at the front gates. She hadn’t been expecting drama today. Her hope was to get her, pick up her niece and nephew, then head home. The fact that there was a commotion outside didn’t bode well. Her music had been on because she was setting it to the station that her favorite little people enjoyed. When she got out of the car, she saw her niece and nephew standing to the side looking upset. That’s when she heard it. Chyra’s voice rang out over all of the children and other parents who were calling for their children to come to them.

“You must’ve lost your mind or you don’t know who these children belong to. I don’t give a damn what kind of school this is or who you believe yourself to be, let me find out you are the one teaching that child to spew that garbage and I’m coming to your house to make a personal house call.”

“Oh, this can’t be good,” Lynnia said as she quickly closed her door and moved to go around the car.

Two voices stopped her in her tracks. The one behind her belonged to their eldest sister, Zoie, and the other belonged to one Dario Anderson.

“It’s definitely not good. We need to get over there before Quinnie goes into labor trying to kick that woman’s ass,” Zoie stated at the same time Dario spoke.

“My money’s on Chy. A pregnant woman and a wronged child are a deadly combination.”

Lynnia didn’t even turn to acknowledge him. She made her way to where her very pregnant sister took on the stance that said she was about to haul off and clock a female. The woman standing in front of her looked as if she dared Chyra to hit her.

“Look, I don’t know what your problem is, but my Leslie wouldn’t do anything to hurt anyone. Don’t go accusing my daughter of doing deeds that she hasn’t. Besides, I’ll teach …”

“To all the other parents of this here school, if you don’t want to have your children witness the violence that is about to take place, then I suggest you put those babies in their respective cars and drive off. This female is asking to get floored.”

“You think because your sister is shacking up with the principal you get some kind of pass, don’t you? You’re no better than the rest of us. Just because you took up with one of our race doesn’t make you worthy of being here.”

Lynnia heard the voices of quite a few of the parents and the outrage that was heard. There was a definite sound of a punch and a thud. What surprised her was the person that did the swinging.

“Zoie?” Chyra seemed surprised to see their sister. She seemed even more surprised to see that she was the one that punched her.

“Hey Quinnie. You and Lynnia get out of here. Take the kids to Momma’s or to one of your houses. Call Vic and let him know that he might have to come pick me up from jail. I couldn’t let you go. Go. MiKayla is in the car with my daughters,” Zoie’s face said she didn’t want to hear any arguing.

A loud screech was heard from a nearby vehicle. Since sirens could be heard, it could be assumed the police had arrived.
