Love's Tender Bond [Bonding Camp 6] (Siren Publishing Menage and More) (6 page)

“Sam?”

“Hmm?”

Missy pushed against his chest and rose up a bit to look him in the eye. “Are you sorry we became intimate? I mean, do you think this has affected our friendship badly?”

He frowned. “Is that the way you feel?”

“No, most definitely not.” She traced circles on his chest with her fingertip. “I have the sense that this, us, was meant to be.”

When he met her gaze, something seemed to shift inside him. It was a warm feeling, one like coming home. Not like his home had been when he was younger but a home where people loved each other and were loved and nothing mattered except family. “I think maybe there’s a lot more to our friendship than we realized.”

“What should we do about it?” Her eyes were large and innocent. She looked like a little girl, asking for permission to do something she’d never been allowed to do before.

Sam wasn’t sure what to say. He wasn’t sure how he felt about her, how deeply these emotions went. He didn’t want to say too much before he knew exactly what this connection with her meant. “Why don’t we take this slowly and let our hearts lead us? I don’t want to make promises I can’t keep and I don’t want to make commitments before we both know where this is going. Are you okay with that?”

To his amazement, she smiled. “I’m really okay with that. Sam, I do have feelings for you. I have for a long time. Though I’m not sure what they are exactly, I don’t want to say those three little important words before I’m sure I mean them. Do you get my meaning?” She touched his chin lightly, running her index finger over his bottom lip.

“We think alike, that’s one thing we have in common.” He wrapped his fingers around her wrist and lifted the hand that had most recently been tracing his bottom lip and kissed her fingertip. “Let’s see where this goes, but I have to tell you, I think we’ve just grown closer than we were before.”

“I agree. Sam, I’m not done exploring my relationship with you. I want to know much, much more about Sam Rodgers.”

Sam couldn’t be happier with how this day had turned out. He’d never expected the turn of events that had ended up with him and Missy in his bed but one thing was sure, he was happy. Happier than he’d ever been in his life.

He dropped her wrist and slid his arm around her, rolling onto his side to pull her fully against him. Her body molded to his as if they were made for each other, her warmth seeping into his skin. “And I want to know all about Missy Blue, too.”

Cuddling together, it wasn’t long before Sam felt sleep begin to overtake him. Using his foot, he snagged the sheet that was bunched up at the foot of the bed and bent his knee until he could reach it. Grabbing it with his fingers, he pulled it up and over them both. Missy sighed softly and he looked down to find her eyes closed and her face soft in the vestiges of slumber. As the room grew dim, the sun finally going down, Sam settled against Missy and closed his eyes. When he fell into an exhausted sleep, his dreams were of her face and how she looked when she came, her eyes smoky and her lips parted. A face he would never get tired of looking at.

Chapter Seven

The phone rang, pulling Missy from a wonderful dream.

“Mmm,” she moaned, reaching for the phone without opening her eyes. Her hand searched for the phone she always kept on the table beside the bed. Instead of the hard wooden tabletop, her palm slid across what felt like a warm, chiseled chest of a man. She opened one eye, the phone ringing again.

The room was dark, dim bluish moonlight sneaking in through a space between the curtains at the window. Missy froze, her mind racing.
Where am I?

Just then, a man groaned. “What the—?” His voice was gravelly and full of sleep.

Missy remembered. She was in Sam’s room, in Sam’s bed…with Sam. She smiled, feeling the beat of his heart beneath her hand.

The ringing phone shattered the darkness again. Sam shifted in the bed, sitting up. When he turned on the bedside light, Missy lay back on her pillow and watched Sam, delighting in the fact she was still in his bed.

“Hello?” Sam wiped his hand across his face, pausing to listen to the person on the other end of the line. “Now? I wasn’t aware you were coming up. It’s not even the weekend.”

Missy frowned, wondering just who he was talking to. It must be a member of the firm. Who else would arrive here in the middle of the night and call Sam? Whoever it was had to be here because he had said he wasn’t aware they were coming up. Darn, it seemed visitors were going to horn in on their first real night together.

Sam glanced over at her, the receiver still at his ear. “Can I call you back? I’ve got something going on right now. I’ll let you know as soon as I can.”

Missy met his gaze and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. What was going on?

Sam hung up the phone and slid back down in the bed, rolling to face her. “I’m sorry.”

“There’s no need to apologize.” Missy slid one hand beneath her cheek, settling into the pillow comfortably.

“I think there might be.” He used one finger to push back another strand of her hair from her forehead. “That was Justice. He and Lauren decided to take the day off tomorrow, so they came up to spend a night or two.”

It wasn’t unheard of for one of the partners to show up in the middle of the week, but Missy had no idea why they would call Sam in the dead of night. “What did they want? It’s what, three in the morning?”

“It’s not unusual for one of the partners to call around this time. They get a bit heated up and need a third, or fourth, to complete the scenario they’re involved in.”

“So, you’re telling me they just called you to ask you to join in a bonding session, is that it?” Missy didn’t want him to leave. She wanted to continue cuddling warmly in bed with him, his arms wrapped around her while she slept.

He nodded his head, his eyes searching hers. “Well, sort of. There’s no new member to welcome into the firm. It’s Justice and Lauren only. They want to blow off some steam. It seems they’ve had a tough week in the city and they want a release from all the tension.” He raised his hand and stroked her cheek. “Would you mind very much if I left you here for an hour or two?”

Missy’s heart sank. She sighed, pulling the sheet higher up over her shoulder. “Well, I do mind, but it is part of your job, right?”

“Yes, it is.” His voice was subdued.

“I understand, you need to do this. Promise not to be too long?” She smiled, trying to lighten the moment a bit. She didn’t want to seem clingy, nor did she want to interfere with part of his job. Missy knew it was actually one of the perks of being employed by the firm. She had never thought of bonding as “part of the job,” but as a wonderful benefit to be enjoyed by all who worked here.

“I just had an idea,” he said, a smile playing over his lips.

Missy chuckled. “That’s a little scary, but fill me in.” She wondered what in the world he had in mind.

“What if you join us? A foursome is sometimes more fun that a threesome. What do you say?” He raised his eyebrows, his hand stroking her shoulder.

“I don’t know,” she said slowly, hesitating.

“Didn’t you want to experience what it would be like to be involved in a bonding with me? I could swear you told me that. Now is your chance. Justice and Lauren won’t mind, I’m sure, and you know them well enough not to be embarrassed or timid when it comes to enjoying them sensually.”

Missy’s body reacted to the suggestion he was making by sending warmth through her, awakening her pussy yet again tonight. She remembered how she had been slightly involved in Lauren’s bonding when she had joined the firm. She had given Lauren a massage, using her best oils, and when things became heated and Crystal, one of the other members of the firm, had decided to bond with Lauren right on the massage table, Missy had totally enjoyed watching the two women experience the pure pleasure of release. Missy would like to connect with Lauren again and with Justice, a man who was very well trained when it came to turning pain to pleasure. “They didn’t ask for me, Sam. They called you. Wouldn’t they think I was intruding?” She didn’t want to overstep her bounds by arriving at the playroom, the room where the bonding was taken to the highest levels, without being invited. If Justice and Lauren didn’t expect her, she’d didn’t want them to hold back on her account. She’d feel much more comfortable if they knew she was going to be involved.

“Why don’t we ask them?” Sam squeezed her upper arm lightly. “I have to call Justice back to let him know how soon I can meet them. I can ask him then? What do you say?”

Missy pressed her lips together for a moment, then nodded. “Okay, go ahead and ask him.” She raised a finger and tapped him on the nose. “But if there’s any hesitation on his part, you will let me know. I don’t want to be a ‘fourth wheel,’ so to speak.”

“I’ll feel him out, and if there’s any inclination on his part to not want you there, I’ll make sure to take note. How’s that?” He grinned, an excitement showing in his eyes.

Missy wasn’t surprised by the spark she saw in his gaze. Maybe Sam wanted her to join in so he could see how she reacted in a group bonding situation. There was no doubt she would receive pure pleasure from the experience but she didn’t want to insert herself into something where she wasn’t really wanted. “All right, I’ll agree for you to ask him, but I’m serious—don’t insist that I come.”

“You are such a worrywart.” Sam rolled over and picked up the phone, punching in a number. The phones in the compound were all connected and each room had its own number, like a hotel.

It wasn’t long before his call was answered. “Justice, I can be there in a half hour but there’s something I’d like to ask you…”

Missy propped her head on her hand and listened intently to the one-sided conversation.

A few minutes later, Sam hung up the phone and rolled back toward her. “As you may have been able to tell from listening to my side of the conversation, they would be delighted to have you included. Are you up for it?”

Missy smiled and threw back the sheet. “Just let me grab a quick shower. Can I use yours?”

“Only if I can join you,” he said, wiggling his eyebrows up and down.

Missy slid from the bed and stood, hands on hips. “Well then, come wash my back for me.”

When she stepped beneath the warm spray of water in Sam’s large shower, Missy was greeted by a pair of strong arms. Sam drew her into his embrace, their bodies moving slickly against each other as the water streamed over them. He captured her mouth, kissing her tenderly as he turned her slowly, wetting her body and inciting heat to pool in her pussy. When he finally released her lips, she sucked in a long breath and met his gaze as he moved her away from the spray of water.

“I love being in your arms,” she said, tightening her hold around his waist. “It makes me feel safe.”

“Safe? Is that the only thing it makes you feel?”

Glistening drops of water hung from his long eyelashes, almost looking like tears. “No,” she said carefully, getting the sense her answer was more important than she realized. “It also makes me feel sexier than I’ve ever felt in my life.”

“And?”

Should she say it? Should she tell him how being held in his arms really made her feel? Missy sensed their connection to each other was growing closer with every passing moment they spent together, but was he ready to hear just how she was beginning to feel about him? Focusing on his face, she swallowed and blurted out the most important thing she would say to him yet. “Being encircled in your arms, Sam, makes me feel loved.” She held her breath, waiting for him to respond.

Sam’s face softened, his eyes showing some sort of deep emotion that Missy didn’t recognize. He reached up and wiped the drops of water from his eyes then pinched the bridge of his nose, squeezing his eyes shut.

Her stomach tensed, taking his action as one of stress. She started to pull back from him, thinking she’d said too much.

His arm that was still around her waist tightened its hold, pulling her back to him. “Where do you think you’re going?” he asked, dropping his hand from his face and sliding it back to its position around her waist.

“I, um…” She wasn’t sure what to say or what to do. Why was this relationship with Sam so hard?
Because it’s the most important relationship in your life,
a little voice inside her head said.

Sam smiled down at her and squeezed her to him tightly, parking his chin on top of her head. “I like it that I can make you feel loved, Missy. That’s a good thing, a wonderful thing.” He leaned back and looked down at her upturned face. “I don’t want you to ever be afraid to say anything to me. I can tell from your actions that you’re worried you said too much, and let me tell you, I want to hear those kinds of things. I want to know your every thought and emotion, your heart. I want to know you completely. Will you allow me that pleasure?”

Missy’s heart lifted. This was turning into something so deep and intense it was a little scary, but it was exactly what she had wanted to experience with him. This connection with Sam could very well turn into love, and there was no way she was going to back away from it. She had watched him for months and longed to be this close to him, and from what he was telling her right now, he was okay with it and wanted it, too.
