Gladys “Aunt Glad” Putnam ~ Leo Edwards ~ Wilma “Big Ma” Edwards

Every so often I look to the sky, tears in my eyes and wonder “Why?”

We were given someone who’d be taken away, for the loss of their presence saddens our day

They were people we cherished, wanted and loved, who blessed us with happiness, kisses and hugs

And when I stopped questioning I heard God say, “they were loans from me and not there to stay.”

For they were not given to you to keep, I placed them in your life to fulfill a deed

I sent them to land and not always for a lifetime, once their job is done, they return to being mine

Do you recall, my only Son died for your sins, And I too have sorrow and can’t pretend

That the grief you feel, deep within, is greater than the hurt I feel from losing Him

But I am a loving God who knows your pain, and I promise my child, you’ll be reunited again

Until then, allow me to fill your void and let the memories I gifted you to bring you joy!
