Legal Legacy 2 (Surrendering Charlotte Chronicles Book 10) (4 page)

It wa
s only mildly painful and sexy as hell, his size and the power he wielded over her body. Her desire for him, her need to let him possess her, to feel that he would split her open and she would welcome it was breathtaking and beyond sexy. Her fingers dug into his back and her hips arched upward, her legs opening to help him plunge more deeply into her. She grasping his muscled ass, pulling him deeper until he reached the very end of her and they moved together as she pulsed and climaxed yet again flooding his cock with her fluids so that he yelled her name as he emptied himself fully and completely inside the woman he loved most in the world.

“Charlotte, Charlotte, ah, my only Charlotte.” He said over and over as
they lay entangled, not wanting to move or be separated and they both exhaled long and deep as if they’d been holding their breath for years.

It was the same throughout the night, their ravenous desire for each other was like a desperate and insatiable animal that had
at last been unleashed. He tasted every inch of her, his tongue coaxing her to orgasm after orgasm until she begged to have him inside her and when her tender pussy was so swollen that it was nearly impossible for him to enter, she moved down his long beautiful body and took his cock in her mouth.

“Charlotte!” He
raged with his hands tangled madly in her hair, thrusting into her mouth and unable to stop.

She knelt over him and lifted her huge sapphire eyes to watch the ecstasy on his face as she worked her tongue over the
velvety head and pulsing veins. She licked and sucked the thick length of him then drew back and teased the wide plush head loving the agonized bliss on his face. She was in love with him and in love with the control she wielded over this powerful gorgeous man when they were naked and alone together. She had no wish to control him otherwise, she loved his wild untamable nature just as she would always appreciate that her other true love, Finn, had possessed that same magnetic quality.

“Fuck! Charlotte sto
p now or I won’t be able to…
Ahhhhhh
!” He cried out as his body seized and she held him tight, refusing to release him and loving the purely male scent and taste and sight of Bly.

*

“Good morning Mrs. Bly.” He said holding her tightly to him, her head rested against his wide shoulder and they gazed out at the newly breaking day.

“It can’t possibly be morning, where did the night go? We never slept,” Charlotte said, nestling into him and burying her face against the fine fragrant skin of his neck.

“It’s good luck to watch the sunrise together on your first day as man and wife,” Bly said, lifting her chin and kissing her as if it were the very first time. He would never grow tired of her, his years of waiting had proved that, she had cast a powerful spell over his heart and soul the first moment he laid eyes on her. He was her willing prisoner and the years he had waited were a sweet torment that he cherished now that she was truly and irrevocably his. And he belonged to her in equal measure, never once had he stopped believing that she loved him. Things had gone along a certain path, life had definitely had its way with her, him and Finn and other than the unfixable tragedy of losing Finn too soon, the love the three of them knew and the family that had come from that multifaceted love had endured.

“Is it
good luck? I’ve never heard that before, but I’ll go along with it if my husband says so,” she said smiling up at him from beneath the thick fringe of lashes.

“Well, I made it up, but I like the sound of it, don’t you?
” He said scooting up to sit against the headboard with her beside him, wrapped safely in his arms.

“Yes,
and I love the sound of Mrs. Bly, but I have to warn you about something. I cry every morning, it just happens the moment I open my eyes. There’s nothing I can do to stop it and I don’t want you to think it’s because of us. I’m just remembering him. It didn’t happen this morning because we never went to sleep. But it will, Bly, it will continue, do you understand?”

“That’s okay, it’s per
fectly fine. I’ll hold you when you cry, Charlotte. It’s as it should be, he won’t ever be forgotten in this family. We wouldn’t be who we are without Finnegan Hale. Now, look outside and see what surprises Christmas morning has in store for us.”

*

When Charlotte and Bly rushed out onto the front lawn Charlie was already there hooting and hollering. Beside him were Hadley and Sky and they were yawning and rubbing the sleep from their eyes and almost as excited as he was.

“Alex, Mom! Can you believe it? Look, the bright blue one has my name on it!
” Charlie shouted pointing to the sky full of enormous colorful hot air balloons overhead.

Each was a different color and luminous from the gas lighting the
hot air inside to keep them aloft, their large woven baskets held its own pilot. The Palomar Vineyards insignia was printed large across the silk fabric of each balloon and on the opposite side was a name for each member of Bly and Charlotte’s family. The balloons began to descend and settle on the grass and the pilots waved for Charlie and the others to come aboard and soar above the beautiful land and sea around Santa Barbara.

There were nine in all and they were all the spectacular colors of the rainbow— blue, green, yellow, red, purple and more. As they landed each turned and presented a name printed in a flourish of silver… Charlotte, Bly, Atticus, Holden, Hadley, Mia, Charlie, Finnegan and the last one was for Evangeline.

“Couldn’t leave my mother out without catching holy hell, of course,” Bly said to Charlotte as she stood gaping at the enormous orbs and huge wicker baskets large enough to carry several people in each.

“Bly, this is… I can’t even comprehend it, are we going up in those things?” Charlotte asked when she could finally speak.

“Yes, we are just as soon as the family gets up and gets dressed. We’ll go out over the ocean and then we’ll come back and land in the meadow for a picnic breakfast. Prepare yourself for a romantic life, Charlotte, I’ve been saving all my hopes and dreams forever just to lavish on you and the ones we love.”

“Alex can I go now, please please please?” Charlie shouted and he was already climbing into the basket of his balloon.

“You need to go get dressed Charlie and put on a coat and a knit cap and gloves it’s December, it will be seriously cold up high in the air. Come on now, we’ll all be fast about it, jeans and boots and coats, and there are wool blankets inside the baskets. Hadley, Sky, go wake up Mia and anyone else who wants to fly over the coast and the hills and valleys. We’ll all go, let’s hurry and meet right here in twenty minutes for a real Christmas morning adventure. Charlotte, later I’ll introduce you to Jake Davis, he’s your new bodyguard and don’t start in about how it isn’t necessary. This estate is extremely secure but I’m not taking any chances with you or Charlie, end of conversation.”

Charlotte sighed and shook her head, she knew how obstinate Bly c
ould be where she was concerned; he’d waited for her for twenty years after all. So she let it go and vowed to make the best of it, there were unimaginable perks to being a billionaire’s wife, so she would just have to get used to a few of the draw-backs.

“Why do I need seven cars?” Charlotte asked when they walked toward the villa after the balloon rides and breakfast among the lush rolling landscape of Palomar Vineyards. Charlie and the others had gone inside assured by Bly that there was plenty of awesome loot under the myriad Christmas trees thanks to an overly generous Santa. Charlotte weaved her way through a labyrinth of gleaming automobiles, all brand new and each topped with a huge red bow. There was a Bentley Continental GT convertible and a Mulsanne sedan, a Rolls Royce Wraith, a Mercedes G63 SUV and an Aston Martin Vanquish. She hesitated next to a classic white Range Rover but then she opened the door of a sleek silver Jaguar XJ and smiled at the rich leather smell and gorgeous woodwork that surrounded her as she slipped into the driver’s seat. “I like this one, how fast will it go?”

“About a hundred and fifty-five,
the Aston Martin will do one-ninety, but I’ll put you in a limo with a driver if I ever catch you driving that fast. I shouldn’t have bought the V12s, promise me you won’t take one of them out on the road without me. Charlotte, I need you to be safe, we have years and years to spend together and I lost you once, I couldn’t survive losing you again.” Bly said, leaning down, the smell of her hair and her skin drawing him into the spell she had cast over him and he was willingly enchanted. He pulled his Ray-Bans from his pocket and put them on to hide his misty eyes, the fact, the truth that Charlotte was his wife was almost more than he could bear.

He had loved her since their
very first meeting when she was twenty-one years old. She’d been just a slip of a girl, tall and thin and so heart-breakingly beautiful it had been difficult for him to think or breathe when she was near. But even then she’d had a warrior’s soul and a will of iron. She had posed for his magazine as a means to pay for law school and nothing more, she hadn’t been swayed by fame or Bly’s money, she had a plan for her life and nothing was going to stop her from becoming an attorney and a force to be reckoned with.

That thought made him smile and dried his eyes, Charlotte
was
a force of nature and it had nothing to do with a law degree. She was simply one of those rare spirits who brought a touch of magic into the world. It was impossible not to be changed by her mere presence, not to mention the fireworks that filled a man’s body and soul when she gifted him with her love. Charlotte was a purely exquisite creature that the French described as having a generous dollop of ‘
Je ne sais quoi
’—something inexplicable.

“I drove fast the first time we ever went to
your house in San Diego, do you remember? I had that little Mercedes convertible and you said I handled the car well,” she said starting the Jaguar and feeling the excitement rush through her as the V12 engine roared to life.

She had loved the little Mercedes she’d had when she lived in the lofts with Finn and JP, loved driving fast with the wind blowing through her hair and clearing her mind. In those days the only troubles she had known were the sadness of losing her mother and the wretched memories of her Grandmother and the subsequent foste
r homes. But she had driven fast and far and aimlessly on certain days back then to wash away her love for Finn when he wouldn’t be tied down to an everyday life and also to rid herself of the incendiary memory of a pair of sea-glass colored eyes that had never quite left her.

“I do remember that you said you loved to drive
and that you did it well, just like everything else you do. I’m sure you can still drive perfectly well, but I want you alive and well so you can handle me,” Bly said, climbing in beside her. “I’m selfish where you’re concerned Charlotte. I’ve spent too much time dreaming of you and now you’re real and you’re my wife and I don’t ever intend to lose you. Anyway, they’re all for you, one for each day of the week and you can pick others if these don’t suit you or if think you’ll get bored with only seven to choose from.”

“Bly, seven cars plus the dozen or so you already own, seriously, why don’t you just toss a few million dollars out on the lawn and set fire to it?”

“If that will please my wife I’ll do it gladly. Charlotte, nothing is beyond our reach financially, you’re going to have to get used to that. Atticus will take control of Bly International when he’s thirty and I’ve set up generous trust funds for all the children, mine as well as yours, they’ll never want for anything. Even so, I’m still worth several billion dollars in cash and assets and it will all go to you when I die. Even if we hadn’t married my will is set up that way, you were always meant to be mine and what I have is yours. It’s been that way since we were engaged before you went away with Finn, I never changed it and never will, you are the beneficiary of my estate, Charlotte. Don’t question me about it, it’s just money and there’s more than any of us could possibly spend. You are the reason my heart beats, my heart and soul belong only to you, do you have any idea how much I truly love you?”

“I have a gift for you too, a w
edding gift and a Christmas present, I suppose. Really it’s just an ‘
I love you desperately and I want you to see that I always have
’ sort of gift. Should I show it to you now? You’re impossible to buy for since you have everything, but I think you’ll be pleased with my gift.”

“I’ll be pleased if it’s in our bedroom, my appetite for you won’t be easily satisfied, Charlotte,” he said claiming her mouth suddenly as the need to make love to her rose up again, intense and demanding.

*

“My God this house is insanely large, it’s twice as big as your house in San Diego, but I guess you had your reasons for buying it.”
Charlotte said as they made their way up the double-sided staircase and along the second floor balcony that looked both up to the third floor and down from all sides to the foyer that was the size of a hotel lobby.

“I bought the vineyard and winery a
nd the house came with the land. I know it’s a lot of space but it’ll be nice when all the kids come home, plenty of room for them and their friends. Eventually they’ll have kids of their own and they will grow up with the Palomar Estate as part of their history. I like the thought of that, of you and I growing old together surrounded by our grandchildren. We’ll buy them a pony and let them have birds and fish and rabbits, whatever they want. There’s a dovecote on the property that’s far older than the house, it’s from the late eighteen hundreds, and it’s the reason the estate came to be called Palomar. It means ‘Dove House’ in Spanish.  As for the house, it was built in the late nineteen thirties by a French man who patterned it almost exactly after his favorite vacation spot, the Raffles Hotel in Singapore. Where are you taking me Charlotte, I don’t want to give you a history lesson of our house, I want to make love to you right NOW.” Bly said pushing her back against the tall satiny smooth fruitwood door when they finally reached the bedroom.
