The Great Shield Realm was the witches’ and warlocks’ home. The underworld was controlled by Apollyon and for some reason this name was important to her, but she didn’t know why. The latest realm she dreamt of was the Realm of the Serpents, worlds that were total opposite of our worlds. A chill went up her spine as she recalled the snake planet. Every single planet or universe was evil.
Shannon had always felt spiritual, linked to magic. She tried to read whatever she could get her hands on, but every time she tried to go somewhere with it, she was thwarted. For some unknown reason, Shannon felt connected to the witches and warlocks on this planet.
Stretching her arms, Shannon laid her dream journal on the floor and scanned her couch. What was supposed to be white was now a dingy brownish color from her husband’s smoking. She enjoyed the peace and quiet. Both of her children were sound asleep and the only noise that disturbed her quiet time was the snoring of her husband.
It was only 6:00 in the evening and she was alone again, her husband always went to bed early, leaving her to deal with the children. She never had adult company to talk to unless Tabatha or Melody called. The dickhead of a husband didn’t know how to talk about anything other than hating everyone. Shannon curled up in a ball with her head resting on the arm of the couch. She had worked all day at her job as a front-end leader at Bargain Supplies. Her feet, along with the rest of her body, hurt.
She couldn’t remember the last time she’d actually had time to go out with friends even if she really had friends. The last time she went out was on her birthday when her husband, his brother, and his wife took her to the Polish club. It was a disaster. Her husband got drunk and told her to go home, he wanted to fuck the DJ woman. That was five years ago.
Shannon stretched, getting up and going outside, sitting on the porch. It was warm outside for April and she wanted to try to meditate as one of the books she had taken from the library had said to do. The book was for teenagers who were just starting out practicing their witchcraft ways.
Shannon had dreams that often came true.
Outside the wind blew on her like it was part of her as Shannon sat down on the steps of her mobile home. She closed her eyes, took some deep breaths, relaxing just as the book suggested.
In her mind, she pictured a stairway that climbed up a hill, winding its way through the roses, and many different trees. She took what seemed like ten steps, then Shannon was in some kind of garden. Her only hope to find some answers to her questions from The Mother Goddess, Frigga. Her book had also called her queen of all witches and wife to king of all warlocks. Shannon could see roses climbing the hill with her. A stream ran down the hill, she could hear the water tricking down the rocks.
Five more steps now and she was a little nervous. Shannon looked around and it was so peaceful birds were singing and what appeared to be the sun was on her face. She took a big breath and continued her move up the hill. Reaching the top there stood a gate in front of her it swinging open to let her pass.
Shannon walked in to a beautiful garden with orchards, roses, all kinds of different floors surrounded by blue green grass and a huge pond. Sitting near the pond in a swing was a beautiful woman. She looked up, there was a surprised look on her face to see Shannon standing there. The women got up and approached Shannon very slowly.
“You shouldn’t be here, my dear, I am not allowed to talk to you yet! You must leave.”
“Just great. I can’t even find anyone to talk to here in my quest, I must have really pissed someone off to not even be able to talk to you!” Shannon yelled, she didn’t care anymore. She was tired of not being heard and tired of being hurt. She needed help she wanted the men of her dreams, she wanted a father who cared and this was her last hope.
“Hush, they will hear you. Listen, I can’t tell you anything except that you must contact a Randy Kruger, she is a very powerful witch she will be waiting for your call. I will tell her to be waiting, for this is all I can do. Now you must leave!” The Mother Goddess said, while she was pushing Shannon to the gate and down the first step.
Shannon turned to say something, but the gate closed, and she was alone. She couldn’t believe she was alone again, even in her visions she could get no answers. Well, maybe she would call this person Randy and see what she would say. What did she have left to do anyway? It’s not as if her life was going anywhere anyway.
Shannon walked down all the steps, this time not even noticing the roses following in her trail. She got to the bottom and took a deep breath with tears in her eyes. Closing her eyes, then opening them again, she was looking out at her small yard that had no trees.
There were mobile homes all over the place. Her family had lived here for the past four years. There were no open spaces, she hated this park but it was the cheapest that her and her husband could afford. She got up going back into the house and went to her laptop, and turned it on as she sat back on the sofa. She might as well find this Randy person, if she really existed.
Using Google, she typed in famous US witches. It came up with several pages, but on the first page was a Randy Kruger right here in Ohio. She couldn’t believe it. The link went to the website and up popped a picture of a lovely woman in her 40’s. It stated she was the highest-ranking witch in this side of the country and the most powerful, from what the article read. Finally, she found an email address.
“Shit! What do I write? I don’t want her thinking I am crazy? Oh hell, if she thinks I am crazy, she just won’t write back.”
