I squinted at my reflection. Had I changed? Could anyone see the difference? I sure couldn't.

"Morgan, immortality isn't visible." Inigo entered the bedroom with a stack of laundry. We'd moved in together after we got back. It seemed right and neither one of us wanted to spend any more time apart. We'd already wasted too much of it.

"I'm not immortal," I insisted. "I'm just going to live a really, really, really long time."

"Which is all right with me," he said, setting the laundry on the bed and coming up behind me to give me a squeeze. "I plan on keeping you around just as long."

I grinned. Dragons mated for life. And they lived a really, really, really long time, too, which I guessed made us the perfect match.

"Well, I wasn't looking for my immortality," I said.

"What were you looking for?"

"To see if it showed."

He frowned. "If what showed?"

"The baby."

His reflection stared at mine in complete puzzlement. "What b—" His eyes widened. "Are you—?"

I nodded. "Surprise. We're having our very own dragon baby."

He let out a shout that probably gave the neighbors heart attacks. Then he whirled me around and laid a kiss on me that could have gotten us arrested if we were in public. I guessed he was happy.

I had no idea what lay ahead for us. Being a parent scared the crap out of me. And what did that mean for Hunting? So many questions whirled in my head. So many fears and worries. But I knew we'd come through them all.

Together.
