Jayded (25 page)

He glides his thumbs over my nipples. I immediately moan, backing my ass into his hard rod and feeling an instant tingle from down below. His right hand leaves my breast, traveling slowly down until he stops at his destination. The light graze of his fingers over my sweet spot drives me insane.

I want you inside of me now! Please?

I beg, needing release.

He slowly slides himself in, each inch getting deeper and deeper. He grunts once he

s all the way in and stops to get better footing. I brace my body on the tile so I can meet him thrust for thrust. He enjoys watching himself slam in and slide out, hitting just the right spot each and every time.

He reaches his hand around to my stomach, gliding his fingers along my clit, rubbing until it sends electric shocks all the way down to my toes.

Kyle, don

t stop! That feels so
—”
He changes the rhythm of his hips and fingers, and I completely come undone. It never fails. His fingers are magical. My body clings around him, pulsing in sporadic movements as he continues to pump into me.

I hear his release coming as he lets out a deafening groan while pumping into me one last time. His body twitches as he leans as still as possible against my back

both of us panting for more air. He finally slips out of me, grabs the soap, and begins lathering up my body. I do the same to him. We wash each other

s hair, quietly allowing the silence to speak for itself.

I would have never guessed he had this side of him when I first met him. He

s actually very charming and surprisingly romantic for his age. I don

t think most twenty-four-year-olds even know where a women

s sweet spot is, let alone
anything
about romance. Mind-blowing. I get a nice two-for-one with him.

I shut off the water. Kyle reaches out for a towel and wraps it around me first and then does the same for himself. I begin to work on drying my hair while he gets dressed.

Okay, I think this is my queue to go. Orgasm checked off. I don

t want to overstay my welcome,

he teases with a wink. I roll my eyes. He chuckles and gives me a quick kiss goodbye.

I

ll grab us some coffee on the way in.

Okay.

CHAPTER TWENTY THREE

Kyle

I can

t help but wonder who that text was from last night. I saw the words scroll across her screen before she came out to check:

This isn

t over.

What isn

t over? There

s got to be something she

s hiding. I watched her read the text, and she froze up. Now that I think of it, every call and text she has received when I

m around, she pushes off. What the hell is up?

I finish changing my clothes and head out the door. My phone rings; perfect timing.

Hey, Ma.

Hi, honey. Your father is on a rampage. He woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning, so I suggest you stay out of his way,

she warns.

Thanks for the 411. I

m just going to hide in my cubicle, then.

I start up the car and let it sit for a moment. The morning air is crisp and the sun is bright. If it were ten degrees warmer, it would be a comfortable winter morning. I love sweater-and-jeans weather, but this is just way too cold.

My mother laughs.

Okay, honey. Just remember we have a conference at nine o

clock sharp. So don

t be late.

I won

t, Ma.

She

s such a worrywart.

I stop and grab the coffee. It

s just after eight by the time I reach the office. I enter the front doors and see Jeff hanging by Elise

s desk. I don

t know what

s with him. It

s like he can

t stay away from this girl. He

s so deep in conversation that he doesn

t even realize I

m behind him.

Ahem.

He turns around with a huge smile. Elise

s face is flushed pink.

Hey, man. What

s up?

I raise my brow, looking between the both of them.

Not much. Just wanted to see what you two are up to this early in the morning,

I admit.

We were actually talking about hanging out this weekend

maybe going to see a band or something. You wanna go?

Jeff asks.

Before I can answer, Elise chimes in.

Oh, that

s such a good idea! I will call Max to see if she might want to come out.

I look at her, a little amazed. I think this is the most I

ve heard her talk since she

s worked here. I flash a crooked grin.

You know what? I

m in! Give me the time and place, and I

m there!

Elise smiles contently. I smack Jeff on the back and head into the office.

I clock in first and then head over to Max

s office. She looks as though something has thrown her off since I left her. She does her best to put on a smile when I walk through the door, but I

ve spent enough time with her to notice when her mojo is off-kilter.

Hey, beautiful,

I greet her quietly, placing her coffee on her desk.

Morning,

she replies. A slight shade of pink tints her face. I love when that happens. It makes her look softer, more feminine, rather than all boss-like.

So Jeff and Elise are planning a night out this weekend, going to see a band or something, and invited us. Well, actually Elise mentioned she wanted to invite you, and Jeff invited me, so
—”

She giggles.

Yes, she actually just emailed me.

So, you and Elise talk?

I ask. I didn

t know Elise spoke with anyone inside the office other than me and Jeff.

Max throws her phone in her drawer and shuts it.

Yeah, we went to lunch together the other day. She

s sweet. I like her. She reminds me of me before my college years,

she explains.

Okay, so this weekend. It

s a secret date,

I joke. I zip my mouth and throw away the pretend key.

Oh, and by the way, you look hot this morning. I

m digging the royal blue color. It brings out your amazing eyes.

She looks hot in anything she puts on, but this blue is extra special because it makes her eyes pop. Those baby blues are tattooed on the inside of my eyelids. Every time I close my eyes, they are there, staring back at me.

I head back to my desk and make a quick detour as I notice my father walking out of his office. There is no way I am crossing his path this morning, especially after last night

s dinner. It didn

t end on a good note, and I sure don

t want to rehash why.

Not even realizing it, I end up right in the lion

s den.

Hey, stranger,

Beth says from her desk. I don

t know how she does it, but she can scope me from anywhere.

I stop, not wanting to be rude.

Hello, Beth. How are you?

I

m good. Will you be at McGregor

s tonight?

she asks. It feels like her everyday question lately.

I completely forgot it

s Thursday.

Nah, I don

t think I

ll be there tonight. I have some things to do,

I tell her. She looks pouty, like I just told her that her dog died.

Are you doing anything this weekend?

Yeah, I have plans.

I look down at my watch to see if it

s almost nine.

My friend Casey said she saw your family at dinner last night. Since when is that lady Maxine part of your family?

she asks, completely out of line. That

s none of her concern, and my mind is blown that she just asked.

Really, Beth? I didn

t know my parents had rules on who they

re allowed to invite to dinner,

I snap. I turn and walk away. This chick has just lost her mind. I don

t know why I even waste my time.

I look back at my watch. It

s just minutes before nine. I stop at my desk to grab my coffee and notepad, and then I head to the conference room. Max is already there, and sitting beside her is Jonathan, talking her ear off. Never fails, I still want to bash his face in. I stroll in, taking my seat quietly. I don

t want to interrupt anything.

Jonathan stops talking enough to greet me.

Hey, Kyle. Your dad letting you sit in on this meeting?

He

s clearly trying to antagonize me.

I keep my face still, clear of emotion.

Yeah, man. He wants me to learn the business inside and out,

I inform. He now looks pissed. Did I hit a button? Is he hoping to be the next partner? Not if I can help it. He

s not getting any part of this business. Dickwad.

I see. I guess that

s the benefit of being the boss

s son, huh? Being born into a business rather than having to work hard,

he states.

My blood is boiling, but before everyone else walks in, I have to set him straight.

I didn

t realize six years of college and a master

s degree requires no work. If I wanted the silver spoon put in my mouth, I would have begun working here from high school like my brother,

I inform him calmly and professionally.

Max claps.

I completely agree with you, Kyle. You in no way took the easy way to get here. Be proud of that. You earned your spot at this conference table,

she praises. She then looks at Jonathan, waiting for his rebuttal.

Jonathan doesn

t say another word. The others walk in and take their seats for the meeting. I make sure to sneak a wink in Max

s direction. That was pretty cool how she just stuck up for me. Jonathan obviously feels like an ass after that because he doesn

t say another peep except when asked during the meeting.

We break for lunch. I head out with Jeff, and I see Max walking to her car with Elise.

Dude, tell me you don

t have a thing for Elise?

I question Jeff, putting him on the spot.

He shrugs his shoulders.

I don

t know. Something just draws me to her. She

s not like any other girl I

ve met. She has this pure beauty that just radiates from her. Is that weird?

he looks to me for some sort of approval or advice.
